amen to that brother! andy has awesome technique + feeling. also, his tone is just outstanding. although i'm a forever-gilbert-fan, andy never ceases to amaze me!
I'm a fan of both, been listening to Paul more recently. but I got to say that they both can play each other's stuff if they want to... Andy's licks tho, imo are more difficult than Paul's. Tried both. Sure Paul's licks are faster at times and have more metal edge but his patterns are straight forward, andy's licks sounds melodic and probably seems easier, but when you try to figure out the notes he play while getting up to his speed, it's all over the place, Timmons licks fingerings are crazy.
@brando18guitarplyr i mean yeah i agree. i was just saying that based on what i experience covering both with the utmost effort i have lol. by all over the place i mean the licks and phrases that timmons often have, a lot are derived from jazz bebop. bebop licks are like playing twister game with your fingers, very intricate and fast while paul's style derived from neoclassical, which are fast, often can be quite a bit faster than bebop, but pattern wise, it's much simpler.
@dmnxCGi i think licks that are hard to play has more to do with how long you are playing music by the guitarist, and how driven you are at wanting to be able to play them you know :P
Dude...you spelled Statesboro wrong...trust me i'm from there and we all know that song way to well...And this is the coolest version. Oh by the way, statesboro blues....is a real thing! never go there unless you're prepared to be bored outta your mind!
Style wise...sure....Andy has a great style. Even Andy will admit he can't play what Paul can play. But guitar playing isn't a competition...it's what you like.
Because that was his Ibanez anniversary, and they gave him every PGM ever made again...so that was a brand new guitar as they are sold, not one made for Paul.
@khower Yeah, I understand that and respect him for taking care of his hearing, but really, don't they make in ear ear plugs/monitors that he can use that are just as/more effective instead of jetway muffs? It's like watching princess leah with a beard!
@khower so he gets the full mix in there then instead of just wearing ear plugs? Do those cans work better then some of those in-ear monitoring solutions then?
kids these days cannot just enjoy two amazing musicians playing a terrific song and having fun onstage. it's always "nyaaa, my hero is wayyy better than yours!!! nyaaa".
@brando18guitarplyr not saying that any is better, it's obviously up to each of people's own taste. but timmons licks are damn f'in harder, probably due to seemingly that timmons solos in the records are improvised to an extent
@mhtsos12 Who cares how cool they look. It's SAD, that his hearing is so shot, that he can hardly hear in one ear, and has to use the headphones to control the volume. The headphones aren't a fashion statement, they are a medical necessity.
Yaay...Paul Godbert and Andy Timmonster..Epic show...
Andy's tone is always so awesome
Two absolute masters of their craft, but more importantly, they both have fun and respect the other person and their playing - How good is THIS?!
amen to that brother! andy has awesome technique + feeling. also, his tone is just outstanding. although i'm a forever-gilbert-fan, andy never ceases to amaze me!

Paul guilbert's tone is really amazing. Andy get us in an other world as always :)
I didn't even know Paul Gilbert could sing (quite admirably!), after paying attention to his chops all these years.
anddy timmons es uno de los mejores guitarristas del mundo

I love Paul, he's the best. I love andy's music , but Paul is just on another planet
Nice Johnnie Winter Vibe to this . Awesome Jam, Gilbert and Timmons Rock!

Paul Gilbert actually using a trem on one of his guitars...amazing.

Best fun guitar performance of my alltime favorite 2 Players ever.
Pretty insane to Experience this in what looks to be a crappy place
yeeeEAAAHH paul's PGM300
I wish I was there
Sweet but different and glad they did'nt go note for note ABB makes this that much more their own...
Thanks. I'm aware of that as the Racer X webmaster. I was generally responding to his comment that he didn't know Paul sang.
I'm a fan of both, been listening to Paul more recently. but I got to say that they both can play each other's stuff if they want to...

i love everybody now
Yep!
That's Mike Szuter from the band Magna Fi. He normally plays guitar...but always plays bass (for obvious reasons) with Paul.
2 masters!
Andy timmons rock on
Paul using Tremolo bar , priceless :)))
Paul is modern guitar hero !!!!!!!!
i really miss old Andy Timmons that kind of soul guitar face \m/
Wow very2 good,juara sekaliiii
There guitars are having a very intresting conversation
0:33 Paul Gilbert was stunned
WOW! I'd give 50 stars ;)
2 dudes had a brain meltdown from these AWESOME solos and misclicked!!!!
WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!

Haha, the single notes of death at 5:09 is awesome.
if only shawn lane were alive and jamming with them itd be my dream line up
@dmnxCGi i think licks that are hard to play has more to do with how long you are playing music by the guitarist, and how driven you are at wanting to be able to play them you know :P
Andy was so excited to jam next to Paul.. Maybe PG is one of his favourite shredder eventhough JS is his teacher
monsters of guitar
Kindred Souls.....
Guitar Gods
You should check out Viking Kong if you like harmony guitars...Guitar wars... Gilbert and Bettencourt...or Gilbert and Boullet
Dude...you spelled Statesboro wrong...trust me i'm from there and we all know that song way to well...And this is the coolest version. Oh by the way, statesboro blues....is a real thing! never go there unless you're prepared to be bored outta your mind!
andy the best!!!
It's great to see paul using the floyd again!
andy steals it here i'm a big gilbert fan but andy is all over the place here.
Put a Keep Are Youuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!
Muito foda!!!! hahahahahahahahahahaha
@rexmiguechidoto Hahha could you link that video? :) Would love to see that xD
estan al puto mismo nivel, son DIOS.
Maybe Andy could revisit his shred days and take on Bruce's old riffs and go touring with Racer X. Wouldn't that be brilliant.
Yes...Emi.
waow
In addition to this in-ears can also cause more hearing damage over time, which wouldn't help him any further
He sings on all his solo stuff.
Yeah she is.
Style wise...sure....Andy has a great style. Even Andy will admit he can't play what Paul can play. But guitar playing isn't a competition...it's what you like.
I actually like the vocal too. Sounds more like Johnny Winter than Gegg Allman
@yjmsrv
Sadly...Paul has to wear them due to hearing issues.
a Jam....
paul removed the tremoro unit.but look.his guitar has it! what's happen!?
Because that was his Ibanez anniversary, and they gave him every PGM ever made again...so that was a brand new guitar as they are sold, not one made for Paul.
@dmnxCGi Yes, Andy is great, but I'd like to see him do Paul's mad string skipping licks.
Gods
yay 720p
@khower Yeah, I understand that and respect him for taking care of his hearing, but really, don't they make in ear ear plugs/monitors that he can use that are just as/more effective instead of jetway muffs? It's like watching princess leah with a beard!
@khower so he gets the full mix in there then instead of just wearing ear plugs? Do those cans work better then some of those in-ear monitoring solutions then?
It isn't Paul Gilbert without those head phones.
Shred wave will pass....when? we're working on 25 years...so you let me know.
I'll take a PGM or any Ibanez over a Strat any day of the week.
kids these days cannot just enjoy two amazing musicians playing a terrific song and having fun onstage.
it's always "nyaaa, my hero is wayyy better than yours!!! nyaaa".
@brando18guitarplyr not saying that any is better, it's obviously up to each of people's own taste. but timmons licks are damn f'in harder, probably due to seemingly that timmons solos in the records are improvised to an extent
Paul Gilbert 4:56 The best!!!!!
@khower
He doesnt sing one Word on The CD s Get Out of My Yard and
Silence After the Deafening Roar

they also*
I came...
well..now i really need for a napkin.!
they insulate background noise better.
@mhtsos12
Who cares how cool they look. It's SAD, that his hearing is so shot, that he can hardly hear in one ear, and has to use the headphones to control the volume. The headphones aren't a fashion statement, they are a medical necessity.
