Happy to say I bought the AT10 that Andy played in this video and got to meet him that night at the clinic. He signed it for me too!! Guitar nerds dream. Such a great player and a real down to earth guy.
***** Cheers Lee. The guitar is great. A great mix of old and new styles! Thanks for your part in making it all come together. Made yourself a customer for life!!
Sold that night? Wow. I was wondering if whoever bought it, would Lee had said that was the one Andy used & or if he signed it. That's cool it sold that night & you got to meet him.
Lovely guy and a fantastic guitarist. One of the very few signature guitars I like. I'd certainly have one of those, now only if I could make it sound as good as Andy does...
hey bro trying to get in touch with you thro email havent figured out this google thing yet hit me up electrickninja@gmail.com scott/doomsyndicate sorry to hijack the thread.
Andy Timmons is great player and musician. He also comes off as very polite, humble, and down-to-earth. I am really glad I found about his music a few years ago. Very inspiring tone, technique, musicality, and feeling. Thank you, Mr. Timmons and Capt Anderton for this awesome video.
Andy Timmons has it, he plays from heart, I love that man met him in Hong Kong, best live show, humble beautiful person, wish him health and more music to come.
Andy is SO good. His technique is always in service to his music, the melody and his expression. His music is never merely in service to his vast technique.
See. You don't have to play a thousand notes a minute to be great. Such a humble, tasty player. I've never seen the Captain so star struck. Fancy getting to play his guitar too. Wow.
Agreed also that's, The Captains type of music also. I used to play as fast as i could and realized that slowing up sounds better. David Gilmour can make the most beautiful music without shredding at all.
The best player on the planet imo. Taste, taste and more taste. Technically brilliant etc, but mostly it's about music and being all about soul and delivering guitar in the best way. Of all the players I can think of he has a sound I never tire of.
Really liked this interview. It was more of a musician's interview rather than some guy who probably didn't know the first thing about music doing an interview. I saw a Berklee College interview where it was like the Dean of the school or whatever interviewing a guitarist pretending to know what was being talked about. I believe he put himself into it for his own video vanity honestly. It just seemed so dead fish phony and somewhat forced. This interview was like two guys who love music just hanging out for a bit shooting' the breeze, sharing thoughts. It was comfy, and felt like I was sitting on the couch across from you guys listening. Thanks for sharing this ..... :0)
The best Andertons vid in a long while, loved it. Andy's such a humble guy & a great player. The Premium AT10p sounds nice but Andy's "original" sounds soooo much better.....keep these vids coming!
It would be interesting to see how a new AT100 compares with the AT10. Especially if set-up exactly the same. Andy's AT100SB is 24 years old now and the pups have probably 'mellowed' a bit in that time. Mind you that White AT100 sounded pretty epic too!
I've been a fan of this channel for a long time and this is one of the most enjoyable contributions you guys have made to date. Just a wonderful way to spend 21 minutes. Andy is the real deal....those tones and the smile on the Captain's face when Timmons was playing. Pure joy.
Such a nice interview Lee, thanks a lot !!! As a longtime fan, I could not be happy enough to watch this interview. And I can't get enough of Andy playing expression. Thanks again !!!
Wow, didn't realize until now what an amazing person Andy is!!! Nice, down to earth, friendly, AWESOME guitarist and you can't help but smile when he's playing cause he's so into the music. I think I've just found myself a new guitar idol!
It isn't said enough how appreciative we all are that you spend time commenting when you have an extremely successful music company to run, thank you Lee! Ps. This video is phenomenal, please do more if you can!
a BEAST on guitar who’s down to earth and humble! Wow, that’s kind of an oxymoron! In all seriousness, this cat is a class act whose love for the guitar is manifested in such a glorious way. Keep up the killer work Andy!
Lee, That was really awesome! Andy is one of the most melodic soulful expressive guitarists on the planet and he also seems like such a down earth guy. I am sure you will not soon forget hanging out with the great Andy Timmons, congrats man that was great! Peace.
It's always cool to watch videos of Rob or someone else jaming here. But when you watch vid with a guy like this - it's so different, yet amazing. So cool
Andy is an understated Absolutely Fabulous Guitar Player an a fabulous communicator. He conveys all his emotion not only on his playing but also on the way he talks about his music and others music. He may not be Rich and Famous, but its there on the TOP for me. Great Interview Capt. Thanks
Capt., you really shine in these artist spotlight videos. I love the gear reviews and, of course, when Rob is present as well. In this case, your demeanor and the insightful questions put forth to the artists really make them informative and very 'watchable.' Not everyone can conduct these types of interviews, and the manner in which you've done so is commendable (LOVED the one with Ian Thornley as well). Can't wait to see the next one.
Thanks, Lee for sharing & for Andy obliging in doing it as well! & BTW Lee, I head it first here that there's a new album in the works! Awesome! Now we just gotta press him for at least 3 more. God that tone of his is just perfect!
Captain Anderton thank you very much for introducing this guy to me . What a talented guitarist. Great tone great feel amazing phrasing . What a guy .nice 1 my son.
Ive had the pleasure of seeing him play live at the Dallas guitar show and he makes excellent music. My younger brother has had the opportunity to go to a few local clinics here in Dallas and spend some time talking to Andy. And my brother reports that he's an incredibly approachable and kind person.
I had heard OF him before, but wasn't really familiar with any of his stuff. After watching this video I am gonna check out more of his work. Fantastic player and seems like a top bloke.
1:37 HOLY FUCK, He is playing Jack Bruce's "Theme for an Imaginary Western"! At first I thought it was Mountain, and then I realized they covered it beautifully as well. R.I.P. Jack Bruce and Felix Pappalardi
i was there the guy is amazing, the guitar is amazing,Andertons is awesome, musicians out there should allways buy from these guys, the staff are amazing the knowledge is amazing and you cant beat the prices.
I've been putting together a parts-caster to mimic Andy's signature. I used GFS parts/pickups with wonderful success. After a year I've finally bought his pickup set, loaded pickguard. Such a wonderfully dynamic player with great phrasing.
Late to the party with this vid and Andy's playing. I must check out his stuff, he has it all, tone, chops and most of all bags of feel, rare amongst shredders these days. What a player.
For me, all great inspiring guitar centric musicians seem to have a great sense of melody and over the years, their music has evolved to a point where it is absolutely not about playing the fastest or the most technical solo or a rhythm pattern. Their music is absolutely focussed towards telling a memorable story and they use all the accessories like different pedals, amps, guitars and their technical prowess as tools to make that story heard, in the way they would like it to be heard. And that's how it should be.. :)
Just read his article in this month's Guitarist issue, super great article and he mentioned this video in it, had to watch it :) His tone is super nice and he creates some real mellow music. Awesome. :)
Love his bends. Does a fine bend, then bends another half or full step to the next note. Sounds like he leads us to a mistake (starting at 19:05) then resolves it 19:11 Wow, taste! Hendrix-ish genius move. Fooled critical me. Cheers!
Strats are the guitars that I have tried like hell to love many times. So, I like the fact that they decided to do a variation on the strat instead of just cloning. I think it sounded pretty awesome, so now if the neck works for me... I kinda liked the white one. lol Seems Andy is a really nice guy. The talent was obvious. Nice video.
Happy to say I bought the AT10 that Andy played in this video and got to meet him that night at the clinic. He signed it for me too!! Guitar nerds dream.
Such a great player and a real down to earth guy.
Hey Mike - glad you're getting along with it. Its a great guitar & Andy is a great guitarist.
Mike, you still playing guitar?
Andy and Paul Gilbert are the 2 most down to earth guitarists around.
Even I know he doesn't do it for money or fame, he deserves both of em by far. He has a special gift for phrasing, can't get enough of his music
Lovely guy and a fantastic guitarist.
One of the very few signature guitars I like.
I'd certainly have one of those, now only if I could make it sound as good as Andy does...
Love your channel man.
hey bro trying to get in touch with you thro email havent figured out this google thing yet hit me up electrickninja@gmail.com scott/doomsyndicate sorry to hijack the thread.
How many guitarist talk about BOOKS....?
Sheesh.
A true organic man.
Just great! That's all I have to say.
Andy Timmons is great player and musician. He also comes off as very polite, humble, and down-to-earth. I am really glad I found about his music a few years ago. Very inspiring tone, technique, musicality, and feeling. Thank you, Mr. Timmons and Capt Anderton for this awesome video.
working on Andy Timmons "Cry For You". Andy is so humble. Not a shred of egoistic nature even though he's one of the worlds best guitarist.
Andy Timmons has it, he plays from heart, I love that man met him in Hong Kong, best live show, humble beautiful person, wish him health and more music to come.
Andy is SO good. His technique is always in service to his music, the melody and his expression. His music is never merely in service to his vast technique.

Agreed also that's, The Captains type of music also. I used to play as fast as i could and realized that slowing up sounds better. David Gilmour can make the most beautiful music without shredding at all.
Allan Holdsworth could play a million notes and it would sound beautiful. It's not this vs. that, it's all valid forms of musical expression.
The best player on the planet imo. Taste, taste and more taste. Technically brilliant etc, but mostly it's about music and being all about soul and delivering guitar in the best way. Of all the players I can think of he has a sound I never tire of.
Finally someone who plays something on an Ibanez that I like :-)
Great tone and soul to this guy's playing.
Really liked this interview. It was more of a musician's interview rather than some guy who probably didn't know the first thing about music doing an interview. "When I started playing guitar, I wasn't to be rich or famous and I successfully avoid both of them thanks!" hahaha love this :-)
Nice, thank you for posting.
The best Andertons vid in a long while, loved it. Andy's such a humble guy & a great player. The Premium AT10p sounds nice but Andy's "original" sounds soooo much better.....keep these vids coming!
I agree!

Hes Right. I only found out about him on "That Pedal Show" and now her and just bought 4 of his albums. Been a great day.
Andy Timmons is an awesome guy and a tasteful player... that tone was lovely. Thanks for this interview Anderton's.
Absolutely incredible player.
holy shit this guy has one of the most beautiful string bending techniques along with Gilmour.
I've been a fan of this channel for a long time and this is one of the most enjoyable contributions you guys have made to date. Just a wonderful way to spend 21 minutes. Andy is the real deal....those tones and the smile on the Captain's face when Timmons was playing. Pure joy.
The playing right around the one minute mark was just, wow. Some of the tastiest I've heard in a while. This guy is good.
Such a nice interview Lee, thanks a lot !!!
As a longtime fan, I could not be happy enough to watch this interview.
And I can't get enough of Andy playing expression.
Thanks again !!!
andy is just a special player soulful, melodic, tastfull and so down to earth and humble.
You got to hang out with Andy haha lucky bastard
Wow, didn't realize until now what an amazing person Andy is!!! Nice, down to earth, friendly, AWESOME guitarist and you can't help but smile when he's playing cause he's so into the music. I think I've just found myself a new guitar idol!

It is amazing how effortless a truly brilliant musician can make playing their instrument appear!
Always loved the sound of Andy Timmons. Great stuff.

Never before have I heard such life and character from an Ibanez. That man is a genius.
That was the coolest little move he did on the bend at 18:58! Even the Cap couldn't help but smile
Captain Anderton thank you very much for introducing this guy to me . What a talented guitarist. Great tone great feel amazing phrasing . What a guy .nice 1 my son.

Always beautiful music from Mr Timmons.
Such a great player.
Melodic and Technical in the right place.

Anthony Haller Looks like an Ibanez RG721FM-NTF
Great guitar player, lovely guy and interviewee!
i love andy. That guy is a true musician, there arent many like him
Andy is way cool. Met him in Chicago at Makin' Music Clinic. He sounded stellar, tone, playing, feel. He has it all
Theme from an Imaginary Western- Mountain.
Well done, Maestro!
How did I miss this? Andy's a real player's player. Very cool.
This is a real treat for me, the guy is an insane guitarist, i love his work with Danger Danger
Andy seems like a super humble awesome dude!
Outstanding tasteful player.
That’s Theme For An Imaginary Western by Jack Bruce! Nice!
I really like him, he seems like a legit cool dude.
Love his bends. Does a fine bend, then bends another half or full step to the next note. Sounds like he leads us to a mistake (starting at 19:05) then resolves it 19:11 Wow, taste! Hendrix-ish genius move. Fooled critical me. Cheers!
Wow, very impressive to have this good man in private.
Strats are the guitars that I have tried like hell to love many times. So, I like the fact that they decided to do a variation on the strat instead of just cloning. I think it sounded pretty awesome, so now if the neck works for me... I kinda liked the white one. lol
Seems Andy is a really nice guy. The talent was obvious. Nice video.
Love the tone of the Dimarzio At-1 bridge pickup. I use it almost exclusively in my videos.
I love Andy doing Theme from an Imaginary Western......... A gem!!!
Great video as always! As a guitar tech, I enjoy comparison videos like this one.
Now THATS playing, what a touch ans feel!
