Honestly I don’t know how I got split view. After searching google & not really able to understand the instructions (couldn’t see them that well) I decided TH-cam was my best answer...Thank you, simple, easy & quick.

Dave, your video is perfect! I had looked at many sites, including Apple’s to find out how to do this. Your expanation is thorough and concise. I was able to correct the split screen problem immediately after watching. I like the sound of your voice - the pitch, volume, resonance and you are very pleasant to look at. I like that on the menu page even though you used hamburger for an example, you focused on the french fries and booze rather than the bloody (literally) meat which would have offended me. Brilliantly done!

I have a touching problem with a short attention span. In short, my wife was kind of upset when I tried to adjust the brightness while she was looking for something in Safari... aaaand BAMB! Split screen. Thanks for the info. She is no longer perturbed... : ) Thank you!!! And no, I have not had any accidental or close calls involving inappropriate touching, for those worried.

Problem solved (I think). On my 9.7in iPad Pro (1st generation), if I click on a link in an email, iPad goes into split screen view..... which might be convenient... but, of course, might well not! Super clear video. Straight to the point. Thanks.

Yay, I’ve had this problem for a number of months and now I know how to get back to one screen. Thank you for the explanation because when I had it on split screen I would always have to x/close the screen and go back into what I was on before and find it now I know how to put it back into one without anything closing. :D

Thank you. I was going crazy especially when the 2 squares weren’t in my bottom screen. I found it on the top of my screen & I now have a full screen again.
That is so counter intuitive! I kept pressing the button not holding it. It is an odd feature of technology that you now must hold buttons to initiate a menu. Tech people do not think like normal people!
Yes please. You explain and demo clearly. What about split view when texting: emails. Or messenger. Or email split to add in a web page or txt from some other setting. Can one post a split view ?

Thanks. I usually get into split view accidentally, I think when I’m typing fast my finger does something sneaky. I’ve gotten out by sliding the unwanted window to the edge and it disappears, it’s like I’m throwing it away, but it doesn’t always work, I have to try lots of times, so now I wonder opinions it only happens when I accidentally stumble upon some other method. It’s frustrating. Anyway, thanks! Your way works each time.

You can actually drag the tab either to the left or right side to start split view.
