I like these not-too-hurried videos. a lot of the "younger ones" rush through their tutorials, talking a thousand words per minute, and i find myself replaying the video to rehear what was said. Thank you for taking your time through these. 😊
I know exactly what you mean! I have to reply some of them several times , but never with Rich - he takes the time to explain clearly and concisely without being patronising. Greatly appreciated!
You can also open transcript and either follow along or just glance over when you need to. However, the transcript dialog box does use some display space, so can’t use full screen mode for video.
Very good info. It should be noted, however, that not all iPads have Stage Manager. I have an iPad 9th Gen that does not. In fact, several of the tips will not work on my iPad. I didn’t realize there were so many different capabilities between iPad models and versions.
The turn website into an app hint is fabulous. I sew, and often find incredible ideas while working on a project and spending so much time reopening a website this solves me hours of work. thank you so very much
I only have so much space left in my head. I’m afraid to branch out lest I lose some hard won prior knowledge. I’m going to keep watching you, my friend, out of my massive respect and regard for a guy like you. Keep on.
My daughter is arriving from Italy today. I found her flight, but was worried about finding it all day, but now I have the website on my desk! Thanks Rick! That was a great tip.
Well done. The only thing I’d suggest is, with each hint, provide a situation where the function may be useful. For me, it’s just not the iPad functionality that’s obscure, being aware of situations where the function may be used is also obscure. Thanks!
Thanks! I Your plainly explained tips are helping me to learn how to make better use of my iPad rather than just using it as a glorified iPhone and media viewer.
For taking a screenshot, I think it is much easier to press the power button at the top of the iPad (when it’s in vertical position) and the top volume button at the same time. This immediately creates a screenshot, which you can then slide off to the left with your finger and it ends up in your recent photos.
@@remington6363settings, general, updates. If one is available you can instruct it to do so there. Some older iPads won’t update as there’s not enough memory or Apple isn’t supporting it anymore.
Your video popped up and I just watched it. Thank you for sharing and teaching a 77 year old new tricks. Slow and steady and just right for me. I’m a new subscriber! 😊
Super helpful thank you, I only knew the first two! The four fingers (not three, FOUR hahahahaha!) and Stage Manager which is better than the Split View I'd been using. Yes and great pace!!
What a God send. I’ve been wanting to put a widget for a website i frequent since i got a computer. Right off the bat!!!! Apple never told me that ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great tips, Rich! You are right, many of these get overlooked. Thanks for bringing them to our attention. I will have to watch this again to absorb all the details. You always give useful, time-saving tips to keep us informed and up to date on how to use our iPhones and iPads to the fullest capacity. Thanks again! ❤
Fantastic, what useful information, thanks, I am 76 and I can just about get by, but already I have now moved something to my main page whereas before I had to go through safari, so that saved me a lot of time 👍👏
Thank you so much for such a wonderful video. We often just don’t take the time to find out the new Shortcuts over the years. I have an Apple Pencil that I use with my iPad. A some of the gestures that you have shown here do not seem to be working. An example could be swipe up from corners or doing a screenshot with the extra options at the top. Perhaps you be able to do another one of these videos using, an Apple Pencil? FYI - the Apple Pencil really reduces the fatigue in my hand, so I would have a hard time without it.
Thanks again Rich for another great video! I love the last tip with the Photo's widget. I will use this one all the time especially when I am teaching, I have my iPad attached to a white board and this will save me from opening and scrolling thru all my albums in front of my class.
As always, you explain very nicely in a non confusing way and at an excellent pace to be able to follow .Thank you. Please keep it up. I am learning a lot.
Thank you so much for all your information. I’m 76 and had to get a new IPad. I went from 5th gen to 10th gen and was told it’s just like your smartphone. Well, I don’t have a smartphone. I learned so much in this short video. One question. I have a couple albums in my photo app. I moved some pictures to a new album but they remain in my original album. If I try to delete them from the original album, they get removed from my new album. Any way to delete from original album and have them stay in my new album. Thank you for any help. Please continue your short videos. They are very helpful!
I have had an iPad since the day they were first released. You’re RIGHT! I had no idea most of these features are available. I will be doing a deep dive into each topic and working on applying this new found knowledge! A huge thanks for making this informative and useful video.
Phooey, I got excited about Stage Manager but have an iPad Min 6 with 17.5 OS BUT the Mini doesn't have Stage Manager. Would be good for you to note that you areTalking about full size iPads. I have subscribed though as I like how you present things and I'm sure many things will apply to the Mini
Awesome, knew half but wow so great. One I found by accident was when typing you can press space bar then it becomes like a mouse and yiu can go back anywhere on the paragraph and retype ect. Got to love learning new things.
I’m still working on creating the widget app and how to add only my selected albums to it. Understanding parts of the instructions but since my Home Screen and photos are set up differently from yours I’m a little behind in the learning curve…..at 81 I didn’t have anyone to teach me basic computer skills such as cut and paste ( which is a no brainer to most) so I went to an iPad. All of my “skills” are trial and error and a fear of losing any stored data keeps me from trying new ideas. Anyway, I am throughly enjoying your video and will keep on plugging along. Lol!
Too many tips at one time for seniors to take in. Personally I’d like to have just a couple of tips which I can take time practicing how to use them until I’ve mastered them. So please avoid overloading us with too much information at one time. We’re not all as clever as you 🥰
Great tips 👍 Mr. Bowlin, I knew how to screenshot by clicking the power&volume up buttons. The corner slide 👌👏and I subscribed 😊. Looking forward to going back through your channel and look forward to watching your new videos. Thank you Lou from Miami
For some reason Apple removed our local airport app from the App Store. Thank you, Rich, for the tip of how to use it as a bookmark on my Home Screen! Works great.

You can slow videos down in the upper right hand corner of the video. I normally speed them up because they talk slow to make their videos longer
Yes! Great comment!

I have an iPad mini and can’t get stage manager. Shame.
I came on to say the same thing. I’ve never heard of stage manager and have no idea what it does.

Seeing all of those windows open drives me nuts! You are using so much battery life.
It doesn't - and it actually uses more system memory to clear and re open them vs. It being suspended :)
