I like these not-too-hurried videos. a lot of the "younger ones" rush through their tutorials, talking a thousand words per minute, and i find myself replaying the video to rehear what was said. Thank you for taking your time through these. 😊
I know exactly what you mean! I have to reply some of them several times , but never with Rich - he takes the time to explain clearly and concisely without being patronising. Greatly appreciated!
You can also open transcript and either follow along or just glance over when you need to. However, the transcript dialog box does use some display space, so can’t use full screen mode for video.
Very good info. It should be noted, however, that not all iPads have Stage Manager. I have an iPad 9th Gen that does not. In fact, several of the tips will not work on my iPad. I didn’t realize there were so many different capabilities between iPad models and versions.
Yes, I had the same problem. Turns out that you need a newer iPad with an M2 chip in it. My 4th gen iPad Air does not have it but it works great otherwise, so I’ve no need to upgrade in order to get Stage Manager.
The turn website into an app hint is fabulous. I sew, and often find incredible ideas while working on a project and spending so much time reopening a website this solves me hours of work. thank you so very much
Well done. The only thing I’d suggest is, with each hint, provide a situation where the function may be useful. For me, it’s just not the iPad functionality that’s obscure, being aware of situations where the function may be used is also obscure. Thanks!
My daughter is arriving from Italy today. I found her flight, but was worried about finding it all day, but now I have the website on my desk! Thanks Rick! That was a great tip.
For taking a screenshot, I think it is much easier to press the power button at the top of the iPad (when it’s in vertical position) and the top volume button at the same time. This immediately creates a screenshot, which you can then slide off to the left with your finger and it ends up in your recent photos.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful video. We often just don’t take the time to find out the new Shortcuts over the years. I have an Apple Pencil that I use with my iPad. A some of the gestures that you have shown here do not seem to be working. An example could be swipe up from corners or doing a screenshot with the extra options at the top. I learned so much in this short video. One question. I have a couple albums in my photo app. I moved some pictures to a new album but they remain in my original album. If I try to delete them from the original album, they get removed from my new album. Any way to delete from original album and have them stay in my new album. Thank you for any help. Thanks again Rich for another great video! I love the last tip with the Photo's widget. I will use this one all the time especially when I am teaching, I have my iPad attached to a white board and this will save me from opening and scrolling thru all my albums in front of my class.
Great video, thanks. The best thing I did with iPadOS 17 as soon as it appeared was nix probably the worst aspect of previous versions. That was Safari Split View. Losing carefully curated Tabs was so annoying, even though they were recoverable (eventually lol) ✌️🇦🇺

I’m still working on creating the widget app and how to add only my selected albums to it. Understanding parts of the instructions but since my Home Screen and photos are set up differently from yours I’m a little behind in the learning curve…..at 81 I didn’t have anyone to teach me basic computer skills such as cut and paste ( which is a no brainer to most) so I went to an iPad. All of my “skills” are trial and error and a fear of losing any stored data keeps me from trying new ideas. Anyway, I am throughly enjoying your video and will keep on plugging along. Lol!
I’ve had iPads since they were invented and I didn’t know some of these tips. Thanks! I use save to Home Screen all the time, especially for recipes that I come across. You might want to show how you can change the name of a folder, so instead of it being called bookmarks mine is called recipes.

I’ve subscribed and have followed you on a couple of videos. How do I find out when you have made a new video? You made AirPods Pro 2 seem so simple. It didn’t work that way for me. It took Apple tech Support over two hours to get it where it would start working. I don’t know if they’re going to work for me because they can’t seem to eliminate the annoying sounds in the background & don’t improve muffled sounds very much. Why does shortcut through control panel with Media Assistance not always appear on my phone but always appears on my iPad? There are more adjustments available than through Hearing Assistance in settings. It’s not making that much of a difference for me when watching TV. May not keep them. Main question: how do I find your videos especially when you’ve made a new one?
Dear Sir, I am pretty new to this Ipad thing after years on android devices. Btw, this is a wonderful not rushed video. Question, when I want to paste something in the search bar from another website, the Paste option is many times way up on top of the page and I can't get to it. Any suggestions? Thanks, Harold.
