After playing Rebirth, this is so much more heartbreaking. Aerith knew what was coming and she didn't want to love him, but she ended up falling for him.

Cloud always adopted an aloof stance in order to protect himself from the pain of rejection. That is why it is touching to see him react this way after Aerith “rejected” him. Reaching out to her after she had to painfully push him away.
I never undertood the fight between who Aerith loved the most, Zack or Cloud. She doesn't love one more that the other. She loved both of them in different circunstances and parts of her life. Zack was his firts love and she waited for him to come back, but he died saving Cloud. She never stopped loving him. Zack was kind with her and he is the reason why the outfit of Aerith is always pink (he told her that she should wear pinks because suits her), also, he gave her the ribbon she always used until her death and he's the reason why she sells flowers. She wasn't able to say goodbye to him. Allthough she sees part of Zack in Cloud, she is aware that they are different persons and actually have really opossite personalities. But Aerith was the only one who knew how to handle all the pain and trauma that was inside Cloud and she truly cared for him and loved him for who he really was (not the false identity that he created). His boyfriend, Zack died years ago and it's not reason to her to not move one and creates new feelings for other person, but that doesn't mean that she forgot Zack. The problem with fandom is that they think that love one of them excluded the history with the other, but that never was the intention. If Aeirth tells Cloud not to fall in love with her if because she cleary has feelings for him, but she knows her fate and she really knows how much hurts to loose the person you are in love with. She is a truly empathetic and caring person.
The ribbon was given by her mother...even in the remake when elmyra finds aerith, with her mother ifalna, she's just wearing the ribbon. In this quote aerith confirms who she really loves. “At first when I met Cloud, I believed he was similar to Zack. Little actions, the way he spoke… his kindness. But Cloud is Cloud. I honestly love the dialogue between Aerith and Cloud here, the team who wrote this was sooooo intelligent in so many way. How they gave Cloud a turning point to his character development, How they gave Aerith's monologue about not falling in love with her, a robust double meaning to Cloud and to the audience playing the game. And voice actor delivered it with subtle conviction from Cloud saying he's ready to rescue her and Aerith saying "If that's what you want, thank you".

Paladin nah Aerith can tell the difference between them. In the original game he reminds her of zack in the beginning but she falls for Cloud the time she spends with him. Plus she knew Zack was dead. She moved in.
Originally, I was all TeamTifa. The remake made Aerith sympathetic and endearing. Dialogue, voice acting, and direction really sold it. Square’s best game in over a decade.
I think based off of advent children the true one is aerith. The reason she seems like an angel in that movie is that's how cloud saw her. Not to mention cloud reverted back to being the way he was before he met her.

As much as even i'd love for that to be the case it isn't. Cloud feels Jenova calling onto him and he follows it uncounsciously because of the reunion, and it pretty much begins at this point in the story, hence why there are so many black robed clones in the end.

Try thinking from Cloud's perspective, not the players perspective.
I think, who came to visit Cloud in dream was Aerith from original timeline. You know, because it is lifestream flows on the background. And Aerith also said time to go in the end. Aerith from Og returned to the planet. Became one with lifestream. It is said in theory, lifestream itself holds time and space, whoever returned to the lifestream, can came accross time, past and future. So, Aerith here is Aerith in Og and Sepiroth in the Ending is Sephiroth in Og. All both of them already know what happen in the future. And with power of lifestream they went to the past, Aerith here to warn Cloud to not fall in love with her since he will suffer if he knows what will happen next. And Sepiroth from Og came here to change its own fate. Tell lies to team so they beath the arbiter of fate a.k.a whispers. . . So Sepiroth will have a great chance to becoming God . . . maybe something like that . .

Did anyone else notice that when they met she said when she gave Cloud the flower she said lovers would give this flower when reunited? I looked it up she doesn't have this line in the orginal game. I thought at first it was just a cute Easter egg but now that I see this line together with that it makes so much sense. I think Aerith is remembering the first ff7 game.
I think it was more symbolic than all that. It was almost exactly like her first encounter with Zack. She admits she loved him in the game. And here's Cloud LITERALLY living Zack's life due to the trauma of jojo's experiments and his final encounter with Zack.

When you encounter Leslie and he has a locket with the lily, Aerith's flower, Tifa says it means "reunion", but Cloud wanted to say it first. Leslie is going out to find his fiancée and Cloud is out to find Aerith and reunite with her. During Tifa's cutscene with Cloud, she brings up the flower being from Aerith all long and that Cloud never would've given it in the first place.

These two scenes dont transition as well as aerith resolution scene to when cloud wakes up next morning and claims that aerith is "calling out" to him. My point is more about narrative cohesion or basically determining "canon" with these scenes.

Time to go.) You said it's Aerith's resolution scene, so I asked why would her resolution be to save herself. In the menu, in Chapter 14 Main Scenario, it says Resolve : The group convinces Elmyra to let them go save Aerith, though breaking into the Shinra building will be no easy task.

If you get Tifa's scene, it means Cloud is falling in love with her instead of with Aerith, thus the "don't fall in love with me" part is out of place. In the Original the date was unique, which mean if you got the date with Aerith, the other dates did not happened at all, it was just Aerith. The scene you got replaced all the others. The date played almost exactly the same regardless of the person you spent it with. First the theater, then the Gondola... In the Remake you can only witness one "Resolution scene" per playthrough BUT they all happened. Here neither of the scene replaces the others. They are all completely different. You can't have the hug with Barret or Aerith. You can't have the dream with Tifa and Barret... What ever scene you witness, Cloud will still say "she's calling out to me" in the morning, which does not make a lot of sense if the dream did not happened. In the Remake the three scenes are canon. If you look at the Chapter 14 description in the Chapter selection it says : "After rescuing Wedge, the group get back to Sector 5, but there is still no signs of Aerith. Enough friends have already been lost, and each of them resolves to fight for Aerith's safe return." Each of them. The three of them. There is three Resolution scenes to witness to complete the Play Log in game. Those three scenes are Cloud, Tifa and Barret's resolutions to fight for Aerith's return. Even if you see Barret or Tifa's scene, Cloud will still resolve to fight as well because "Each of them resolves to fight". They probably happened in that order : Barret first, before he get to sleep. Tifa in the middle of the night. And the Dream last, "it's almost morning".
If we get the date in Gold Saucer, remember in the theater there is a kiss scene. In the original it's just Cloud kissing Aerith hand, but now is your chance Nomura. GIVE US A REAL KISS, my ship is flying to the moon and I'll drop dead on the floor if this happens.

Possibly she saw the future when she was communing with the Lifestream in the opening? Wouldn't be much of a stretch lore-wise. I feel like even in the original game, she knew she was gonna die. It just wasn't directly communicated to the player. Visiting Cloud in his dreams before going to the Forgotten Capital, the look she gives him before Sephiroth stabs her...I feel like she always knew...

The ancients can communicate with the planet. The arbiters of fate come from the planet. Somehow, Seprioth has come back in time to disrupt the flow and the arbiters have become present. They have more than likely relayed what is to come and what needs to pass to keep the planet from being destroyed. With that said, even if she wasn't, she's right. I'm more of a fan of the Cloud/Tifa relationship (he joined SOLDIER, or at least tried to) in order to impress her and get her attention. She stayed with him while the world was ending instead of trying to save it, dove into the life stream with him to save him and helped piece his brain back together. Their love was built around a lifetime of struggles together and was more real. Cloud in the beginning thought he was Zack. I'm sure Zack spoke to his friend at some point about a girl he was in love with. Clearly she fits the description and Cloud taking on his memories is confused. Not only that, but I'm sure on Aerith's part that Cloud just simply reminds her of Zack, because again, he thinks he's Zack. I like to think of Aerith as Cloud's first love that got him to open up, but Tifa is his true love. I'm also pretty sure they were living together and she had a ring in Advent Children, but Cloud realizing he was dying tried to distance himself from everyone the whole movie until the very end.

Cloud might think he fell in love with Aerith but he's still not quite himself at this time due to Hojo's experimentation on him for years during Crisis Core. Once Cloud recovers his original self post his falling into lifestream crack, he returns to how he was before and PSX FFVII hinted that he and Tifa spent the night together under highwind. Advent Children ending told us that Aerith and Zack are a pair and Cloud and Tifa are a pair. "it's not real" because Aerith knows Cloud cannot truly love "love" her because he is not in his right mind right now at Midgard. Look, this debate has been done over and over again. But I know shippers will continue to ship whoever they want to ship but when the game is hitting your head over it with Aerith literally telling Cloud "It's not real" I rest my case.

I do to. She do silent pauses&look sad/gloomy. I think the small changes in game is to lure us to belive fate would change. Either how game will progress i still feel she will die no matter how they lure us to feel safe. She might not die first time going to the altar, she might die later, maybe even earlier than original. Cause earlier means she never had the time to pray and activate holy, or she might live first time but revisit the altar, maybe even might survive til northern crater, or get's killed by hojo experiment. But since they've said they want to follow The source-material. Game somejow might end up in line with the original and she dies just like she did in the original &way visions show.
I took it as her knowing what happened to him and that any feelings he may develop aren't really his but Zack's. Crisis Core basically implies outright that she has, although somewhat limited, ability to communicate with the lifestream.

Just going to say this here even though this video is for 3 years ago. When you finish the FF7 Rebirth, watch this video. It will probably give you some context on some the things that happens at the end of the Rebirth.

ppl talk about his face, the way he reacts, bringing up Tifa BUT to me, as a writer, the most obvious thing here is that she even brought up the topic of love which makes it all the way more real that they have feelings for eachother. But if people still want to act blind and deaf, what Cloud replied to that is the ultimate proof!!!! He could have said anything. ANYTHING. "I dont intend to"/"I wont fall in love with you"/"what?" But he thinks it through and actually says "Don't I get a say in this?" Who the hell would reply that like a lovestruck fool if they didn't already have feelings or the desire to fall for them! @@ClericOfPholtus Exactly. Cloud also saw the rift ffrom Zacks timeline in the end and he fought alongside Zack and Aerith physically. He can see both overlapping timelines now. His party only exists in the one in which Aerith wasn´t saved hence they can´t see her. This is not over yet and I bet they will find a way in part 3 to save her.
For the first time in my life, I'm shipping the mc to 2 girls equally. I was originally CloTi, but I didn't know Aerith was just this precious...didnt like the damsel in distress type of heroine before, but Aerith is really captivating, isn't she?
I agree. I think they made her entire character a damsel in distress in the other versions of her (like spin offs) which dumbed down her character so much, but in this game they made her back into the upbeat, capable, and captivating character she was in the original game.
I don't think Aerith is a damsel in distress type, she is different with Kairi from KH, she can protect her self all this time and she is willing to go to Shinra because of her own will to save Marlene 😁

Unlikely to happen now considering the ending of the game. Sephiroth knows her death was his undoing. The bigger twist now would be that Cloud is now faced with the choice to kill Aerith in order to save the planet or risk finding another way to stop Sephiroth.
@@cn8299 From what I've read, a lot of what we understood from the ending was caused by changes in the English translation. Apparently in the Japanese version both Aerith and Seph are not as omniscient about the future as they seem to be in the English dub, which means Sephiroth might not know exactly why he ends up losing, or even if he's destined to lose at all. My guess is that the story will play out differently but Aerith will die anyway. The game would lose SO MUCH of its impact if she doesn't.

Yeah, I agree with a top comment here that theorizes that this is OG Aerith, and not Remake Aerith. Just like OG Sephiroth, she's able to traverse through time and space due to being part of the life stream. Heck, OG Cloud is definitely also the one who talks to Remake Cloud after he crashes into the church (it wasn't merely a hallucination). Damn, it's all starting to make sense.
No it's not...that's his consciousness from the past (16 year old Cloud); you can tell by the skinniness of his arms; this is very similar to the original game which had the same thing. Wow. That was obvious.
I'm pretty sure it was Zack in the church scene Cloud had no reason to be as upbeat as his "other self" was in the church scene, and thanks to this scene we know that it's easy for "special" people to communicate through dreams so it doesn't take a genius to put two and two together

Is it just me or does his voice slightly crack when he says "do I get a say in all this" 😭 Haven't seen this in a while since the shipping war is a headache but this scene is undeniable romantic whether you ship these two or not. This exact scene is the reason why I ended up playing the ORIGINAL game in the end. I had no interest to play it beforehand and had no idea who anyone was but this, this scene destroyed me even without context.

With the "don't fall in love with me", i did. but when she said "even if you think you have, its not real", it feels like she knows that mentally he is not the real cloud and that his feelings for her are based off his corrupted mental state more than his own.
Count Espo it’s interesting that you say that because from my understanding, Cloud is still Cloud. He was traumatized after the events of Nibelheim and after being in a weakened state while listening to Zack share his SOLDIER stories when they were on the run. He mistook those stories as his own memories and suppressed the rest to overcome the trauma. But that doesn’t mean that he is Zack or carries Zack’s feelings toward Aerith otherwise he would have recognized her when he fell into the slums. He’s still Cloud, he’s just acting out what he thinks a good soldier is. In reality, even his cold and distant behavior is nothing like Zack’s personality. Cloud is traumatized and fragile, but still Cloud nonetheless. When watching this scene, I get the impression that she’s trying to distance herself from him so he doesn’t get hurt. That’s why she tells him that he doesn’t need to come for her and that “it’s not that bad” where she is. She knows she’s going to die anyway but at least this way, he won’t get hurt as much if he never gets attached. I think he genuinely is falling for her and she knows that and is trying to lessen the blow before she dies. Different way to interpret it I guess!
Daniel Millward i think that’s a definite possibility as well. The original Aerith trying to spare him from getting hurt. It’s a great scene regardless and definitely more than one way it could go!
I was confused seeing the Tifa scene after because I got Aeriths scene in my playthrough and i wouldn't have it any other way she caught me off guard when you were walking with her to the play ground the music and everything made me feel like I was a kid again.... I'm coming to get you Aerith... God what if choices CAN change the outcome ! I think there are more to the ghost/specters than I originally thought like whenever you see them you're doing something you didn't do in the original game so maybe you can break through or something?

I never undertood the fight between who Aerith loved the most, Zack or Cloud. She doesn't love one more that the other. She loved both of them in different circunstances and parts of her life. Zack was his firts love and she waited for him to come back, but he died saving Cloud. She never stopped loving him. Zack was kind with her and he is the reason why the outfit of Aerith is always pink (he told her that she should wear pinks because suits her), also, he gave her the ribbon she always used until her death and he's the reason why she sells flowers. She wasn't able to say goodbye to him. Allthough she sees part of Zack in Cloud, she is aware that they are different persons and actually have really opossite personalities. But Aerith was the only one who knew how to handle all the pain and trauma that was inside Cloud and she truly cared for him and loved him for who he really was (not the false identity that he created). His boyfriend, Zack died years ago and it's not reason to her to not move one and creates new feelings for other person, but that doesn't mean that she forgot Zack. The problem with fandom is that they think that love one of them excluded the history with the other, but that never was the intention. If Aeirth tells Cloud not to fall in love with her if because she cleary has feelings for him, but she knows her fate and she really knows how much hurts to loose the person you are in love with. She is a truly empathetic and caring person.
The ribbon was given by her mother...even in the remake when elmyra finds aerith, with her mother ifalna, she's just wearing the ribbon.

I honestly love the dialogue between Aerith and Cloud here, the team who wrote this was sooooo intelligent in so many way. How they gave Cloud a turning point to his character development, How they gave Aerith's monologue about not falling in love with her, a robust double meaning to Cloud and to the audience playing the game. And voice actor delivered it with subtle conviction from Cloud saying he's ready to rescue her and Aerith saying "If that's what you want, thank you".

After watching the resolution scene, the part where Cloud tells Elmyra "she's calling out to me, I can feel it" hits differently.
As much as even i'd love for that to be the case it isn't. Cloud feels Jenova calling onto him and he follows it uncounsciously because of the reunion, and it pretty much begins at this point in the story, hence why there are so many black robed clones in the end.

The ultimania is supplemental matrial for us to understand what is really happening, but Cloud is unaware. Try thinking from Cloud's perspective, not the players perspective.

It is said in theory, lifestream itself holds time and space, whoever returned to the lifestream, can came accross time, past and future. So, Aerith here is Aerith in Og and Sepiroth in the Ending is Sephiroth in Og. All both of them already know what happen in the future. And with power of lifestream they went to the past, Aerith here to warn Cloud to not fall in love with her since he will suffer if he knows what will happen next. And Sepiroth from Og came here to change its own fate. Tell lies to team so they beath the arbiter of fate a.k.a whispers. . . So Sepiroth will have a great chance to becoming God . . . maybe something like that . .

Did anyone else notice that when they met she said when she gave Cloud the flower she said lovers would give this flower when reunited? I looked it up she doesn't have this line in the orginal game. I thought at first it was just a cute Easter egg but now that I see this line together with that it makes so much sense. I think Aerith is remembering the first ff7 game.

I think it was more symbolic than all that. It was almost exactly like her first encounter with Zack. She admits she loved him in the game. And here's Cloud LITERALLY living Zack's life due to the trauma of jojo's experiments and his final encounter with Zack.

When you encounter Leslie and he has a locket with the lily, Aerith's flower, Tifa says it means "reunion", but Cloud wanted to say it first. Leslie is going out to find his fiancée and Cloud is out to find Aerith and reunite with her.
During Tifa's cutscene with Cloud, she brings up the flower being from Aerith all long and that Cloud never would've given it in the first place.
I remember during Cloud's melt down, he saw himself sinking Aerith in the lake. Remake might be an alternate universe which is the only premise to save some characters like Wedge, Biggs.... Something whispers can do

Chapter 14's title is Resolve, and the overview is all the same : resolution in saving Aerith. Tifa has one, Barret has one.... what about Cloud? This scene with Aerith is Cloud's resolution scene.
That's also why it's the only resolution scene that appears in the credits, cause Cloud is the MC.

These two scenes dont transition as well as aerith resolution scene to when cloud wakes up next morning and claims that aerith is "calling out" to him.
My point is more about narrative cohesion or basically determining "canon" with these scenes.

Of course you are right, that these are their resolution scenes, but in them they all came to the the decision to save Aerith, hence their resolution.
As also discussed by someone else in the comment section, all three scenes are canon because they all happened one after the other on the same night - Barret being the first, before they went to sleep, Tifa some time in the midnight after they have fallen asleep, and Cloud's was just before morning (Aerith: It's almost morning. Time to go.)
You said it's Aerith's resolution scene, so I asked why would her resolution be to save herself. In the menu, in Chapter 14 Main Scenario, it says Resolve : The group convinces Elmyra to let them go save Aerith, though breaking into the Shinra building will be no easy task.

If you get Tifa's scene, it means Cloud is falling in love with her instead of with Aerith, thus the "don't fall in love with me" part is out of place. But if Cloud does have more affinity with Aerith... Well...

The Gold Saucer date was affinity based but not this one. Let me try to explain the difference.
In the Original the date was unique, which mean if you got the date with Aerith, the other dates did not happened at all, it was just Aerith. The scene you got replaced all the others. The date played almost exactly the same regardless of the person you spent it with. First the theater, then the Gondola...
In the Remake you can only witness one "Resolution scene" per playthrough BUT they all happened.
Here neither of the scene replaces the others. They are all completely different. You can't have the hug with Barret or Aerith. You can't have the dream with Tifa and Barret...
What ever scene you witness, Cloud will still say "she's calling out to me" in the morning, which does not make a lot of sense if the dream did not happened.
In the Remake the three scenes are canon.
If you look at the Chapter 14 description in the Chapter selection it says :
"After rescuing Wedge, the group get back to Sector 5, but there is still no signs of Aerith. Enough friends have already been lost, and each of them resolves to fight for Aerith's safe return."
Each of them. The three of them. There is three Resolution scenes to witness to complete the Play Log in game.
Those three scenes are Cloud, Tifa and Barret's resolutions to fight for Aerith's return.
Even if you see Barret or Tifa's scene, Cloud will still resolve to fight as well because "Each of them resolves to fight".
They probably happened in that order :
Barret first, before he get to sleep.
Tifa in the middle of the night.
And the Dream last, "it's almost morning".

I feel like even in the original game, she knew she was gonna die. It just wasn't directly communicated to the player. Visiting Cloud in his dreams before going to the Forgotten Capital, the look she gives him before Sephiroth stabs her...I feel like she always knew...

The ancients can communicate with the planet. The arbiters of fate come from the planet. Somehow, Seprioth has come back in time to disrupt the flow and the arbiters have become present. They have more than likely relayed what is to come and what needs to pass to keep the planet from being destroyed.
With that said, even if she wasn't, she's right. I'm more of a fan of the Cloud/Tifa relationship (he joined SOLDIER, or at least tried to) in order to impress her and get her attention. She stayed with him while the world was ending instead of trying to save it, dove into the life stream with him to save him and helped piece his brain back together. Their love was built around a lifetime of struggles together and was more real.
Cloud in the beginning thought he was Zack. I'm sure Zack spoke to his friend at some point about a girl he was in love with. Clearly she fits the description and Cloud taking on his memories is confused. Not only that, but I'm sure on Aerith's part that Cloud just simply reminds her of Zack, because again, he thinks he's Zack.
I like to think of Aerith as Cloud's first love that got him to open up, but Tifa is his true love.
I'm also pretty sure they were living together and she had a ring in Advent Children, but Cloud realizing he was dying tried to distance himself from everyone the whole movie until the very end.

Cloud might think he fell in love with Aerith but he's still not quite himself at this time due to Hojo's experimentation on him for years during Crisis Core. Once Cloud recovers his original self post his falling into lifestream crack, he returns to how he was before and PSX FFVII hinted that he and Tifa spent the night together under highwind.
Advent Children ending told us that Aerith and Zack are a pair and Cloud and Tifa are a pair.

I do to. She do silent pauses&look sad/gloomy. I think the small changes in game is to lure us to belive fate would change. Either how game will progress i still feel she will die no matter how they lure us to feel safe. She might not die first time going to the altar, she might die later, maybe even earlier than original. Cause earlier means she never had the time to pray and activate holy, or she might live first time but revisit the altar, maybe even might survive til northern crater, or get's killed by hojo experiment.
But since they've said they want to follow The source-material. Game somejow might end up in line with the original and she dies just like she did in the original &way visions show.

I took it as her knowing what happened to him and that any feelings he may develop aren't really his but Zack's. Crisis Core basically implies outright that she has, although somewhat limited, ability to communicate with the lifestream.

His party only exists in the one in which Aerith wasn´t saved hence they can´t see her. This is not over yet and I bet they will find a way in part 3 to save her.

I agree. I think they made her entire character a damsel in distress in the other versions of her (like spin offs) which dumbed down her character so much, but in this game they made her back into the upbeat, capable, and captivating character she was in the original game.

Unlikely to happen now considering the ending of the game. Sephiroth knows her death was his undoing. The bigger twist now would be that Cloud is now faced with the choice to kill Aerith in order to save the planet or risk finding another way to stop Sephiroth.

@@cn8299 From what I've read, a lot of what we understood from the ending was caused by changes in the English translation. Apparently in the Japanese version both Aerith and Seph are not as omniscient about the future as they seem to be in the English dub, which means Sephiroth might not know exactly why he ends up losing, or even if he's destined to lose at all.
My guess is that the story will play out differently but Aerith will die anyway. The game would lose SO MUCH of its impact if she doesn't.

Just like OG Sephiroth, she's able to traverse through time and space due to being part of the life stream. Heck, OG Cloud is definitely also the one who talks to Remake Cloud after he crashes into the church (it wasn't merely a hallucination). Damn, it's all starting to make sense.
No it's not...that's his consciousness from the past (16 year old Cloud); you can tell by the skinniness of his arms; this is very similar to the original game which had the same thing. Wow. That was obvious.

Everything just delivered greatly, the graphic, visual, expression, emotion, voice, it's just amazing.. I think it will impact me less with pixelated box like sprite, no voice, no bgm etc. Truly a marvelous remake.

With the "don't fall in love with me", i did. but when she said "even if you think you have, its not real", it feels like she knows that mentally he is not the real cloud and that his feelings for her are based off his corrupted mental state more than his own.
Count Espo it’s interesting that you say that because from my understanding, Cloud is still Cloud. He was traumatized after the events of Nibelheim and after being in a weakened state while listening to Zack share his SOLDIER stories when they were on the run. He mistook those stories as his own memories and suppressed the rest to overcome the trauma. But that doesn’t mean that he is Zack or carries Zack’s feelings toward Aerith otherwise he would have recognized her when he fell into the slums. He’s still Cloud, he’s just acting out what he thinks a good soldier is. In reality, even his cold and distant behavior is nothing like Zack’s personality. Cloud is traumatized and fragile, but still Cloud nonetheless. When watching this scene, I get the impression that she’s trying to distance herself from him so he doesn’t get hurt. That’s why she tells him that he doesn’t need to come for her and that “it’s not that bad” where she is. She knows she’s going to die anyway but at least this way, he won’t get hurt as much if he never gets attached. I think he genuinely is falling for her and she knows that and is trying to lessen the blow before she dies. Different way to interpret it I guess!

I was confused seeing the Tifa scene after because I got Aeriths scene in my playthrough and i wouldn't have it any other way she caught me off guard when you were walking with her to the play ground the music and everything made me feel like I was a kid again.... I'm coming to get you Aerith... God what if choices CAN change the outcome ! I think there are more to the ghost/specters than I originally thought like whenever you see them you're doing something you didn't do in the original game so maybe you can break through or something?
