I admit I "discovered" Arne & Carlos only a few months ago on TH-cam knitting double-knitting pot holders and thought at first they were very new and not very serious until the video was over. Now I'm knitting their balls. The original book is a masterpiece. It's more than an instruction manual; it's loaded with pictures of their collections that are wonderful and inspirational. I always copy the designs on paper so I don't ruin the book. It's delightful, and so are Arne & Carlos.
I really like how you interviewed these gentlemen, they were very comfortable with your questions. This enabled me to know them as individuals. They were very frank and refreshing. Thank you.
This really shows how I "knew" Arne and Carlos were IRL.They talked about Dolly Parton being real, but I felt the realness exuding from them. I would relax just being around them. Thank you all!!

When you talked about the word "kooshla" and what it means across the Scandinavian landscape, it occurred to me that when I watch your videos or watch the interview with you now, it feels like "kooshla" moments to me.
Foreigners who move to Norway often joke about how Norwegians always say "koselig". A person can be koselig, a thing can be koselig, an atmosphere, a story +++++.
So much thought behind Arne and Carlos's work, books and concepts. They just have a different way of seeing that isn't 'eccentric' or 'weird'. It's just creative. When you live the life they do, up in the isolated homeland with just each other, it makes sense that they can immerse themselves so totally in their world and come up with beautiful results. It fascinates me how many of their projects are ones that have been done countless times before ( eg, the granny square blanket which you can find in those old crochet books from the 1970's!! ) but because it's Arne and Carlos, people feel they are making someting far more exotic or different. I enjoyed hearing about other aspects of their lives and to see the layers in their relationship and their work. ( And oh my god - an aside - I have figured out who you remind me of, Kristy!!! MONICA from friends! She screams things out spontaneously too! You even say, 'I KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!' just like her. It's so uncanny! I've been trying to figure it out for ages so the next time you shout someting out, I'll nod my head and say, 'Yep, Monica!' hehehehehehehe! I've found your twin! Ok first of all these 2 are responsible for the garters stitch blanket I'm knitting for my husband who is 6"3. And the blanket fits him, so crazy. This has taken over a year to complete. I just love this couple and their life style. Oh yes, I am obsessed with Dolly Parton for the same reasons you guys discussed. She is the BOMB!!!!!. AWESOME JOB KRISTY AS ALWAYS!!!!!
I think Carlos is more intense than Arne. And Arne i would love to invest in a dollhouse myself. Like you said its a fun fantasy world. This interview is fabulous. Wouldnt they make great uncles to visit? Sigh i wish i lived in Norway

I have the bird book! This was fun. I haven't done a deep dive into the Arne & Carlos world yet, but the few things I've seen have been very enjoyable.
As a creative person I draw from my life experiences which have a strong folk connection. If I avoid spending time working in the garden or yard, don't get my hands in soil, I feel empty. Creative processes are like a hearty stew. Add many elements for color and flavor and stir it up.
