I surmise that the shattering of enemies by the Reaver might have been intended like that originally since that's how enemies die to Kain's Reaver in Blood Omen.
So if I comment spam across all of these new videos I apologize ahead of time. I am ABSOLUTELY binge watching this... Gotta say, that multi directional climbing...I've always said that while graphically the original Soul Reaver is archaic, the actual animations are still pretty damn good for the PS1 and my god was that climbing animation awesome! (Definitely can tell the wings would've been hell to get right on the gravity shift though). But man, there's so many puzzles and traversal aspects I'm thinking now we could've had with that!!!
You are definitely free to post more of your comments :D I agree with you about animations being really well done and it is joy to watch Raziel run around. Yeah, no physics on the wings so I can see that could have been a problem for them to do correctly. I am sure nowadays it wouldn´t be such an issue!

Como te entiendo hermano, apenas gane el SR1 me puse a buscar en cada recoveco del mapa todas las espadas (en esa epoca el internet no era tan accesible como para ver un tutorial en internet) sabia que existian por los trucos pero me mate buscandolas por todos lados totalmente en vano!
What I am surprised is about the high res text, the multidirectional climbing, underwater combat. The tech was there. The ideas were tried. There was a try to achieve this, they just couldn't. That's amazing.
I wish they'd rerelease the originally planned version of this game complete with all the extra levels, glyphs, reavers and bosses. I'd love to play it!
3:01 Do you remember those ''long nose'' vampires from the screenshots of the ''The Lost Worlds'' website, which were hypothesized to be an early Dumahim design? At which stage of developement were they present?
It would be cool to have a high graphic remake of soul reaver and soul reaver 2 and defiance. I think square enix has the license to legacy of kain but people would have to start a petition to get square's attention.
I found it unfair in how the Rahabim could attack you underwater but you couldn’t fight back (it even force or glyphs). Also how you could torch an enemy and the fire dies out left much to be desired... Now if the game was rereleased with these issues ironed out, it would make the series great. #atruelegacy
Yeah, the water combat would have been cool to have but it is super glitchy and Raziel is almost always starts floating upwards! Looks like they couldn´t iron the bugs out for it. However, you can use glyphs underwater if you are holding a vase or a rock (so you walk on the bottom).

They could have been the first prototype enemy in the game, but it is hard to know. There were several designs they went through, it seems!
