There is an unofficial remake of Blood Omen being done right now at Square Enix. The developers, animators, and modelers are doing everything as a side project and aren't getting paid for it (just yet). If everything goes well and the fan base calls out for more, then the rest of the series is going to get green lit. This is straight from one of the directors of SE that is a huge fan of the franchise. Everyone needs to start flooding them with emails.
This game changed my life so much from the first time I played the demo on the Original Playstation. I have a large tattoo on my back of Raziel on the Soul Reaver 2 Cover(That's how much it means to me). I need a remake, or a remastered version so bad I am willing to cough up at least 350 for the entire Blood Omen Legacy Of Kain Soul Reaver franchise. Love this entire saga so much I'm making a PS Vita Dedicated to Soul Reaver. I already purchase old remakes like the Crash trilogy, CTR, Syro The Dragon, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3. So if there is a market for those why not Soul Reaver. Just ranting on but I am very passionate about this Saga.
I thought id never see these deleted areas i used to wander around the game hoping i could find a glimpse of a deleted area or a forge now you made my Dreams Come True thanks
I've always thought that the human citadel was unfinished like something was cut away cause just a glyph was a little underwhelming, and I also wanted to Explore more.
Great video, thank you very much for showing what we DIDN'T get. BTW, you were too close to the mic or something because the pitch is so high sometimes that it actually hurts one's ears.
In the final game I always wondered what was the point of the Human Citadel as if it was some extra optional area that only 100% percenters visited and even back then I knew that this area had some level of importance to it and now the mystery has been unfolded that it was originally required to visit to complete the game.
always thought it was supposed to be food for thought area, a breeding ground for humans, since the vampires needed to bolster their ranks somehow due to being sterile and only by converting humans they could do this, so keeping a population of humans under their control was the way to go... despite being physically able to take them out easily should the need arise...
@@Araneus21 nosgoths decay meant food was becoming scarcer for humans, this would've doomed the vampires as food would be needed to sustain a human population but dwindling food resources meant extictions for humans and thus for vampires as well
Judging by this entire video I think the Undercity and the Vampire Worshipper's Temple would probably only be accessible after killing Rahab due to the fact that its basically LOK's version of the Water Temple (Only this is way better). I think the last puzzle room would've most likely had a small cutscene of the Priestess admonishing Raziel for invading the innermost temple dedicated to Kain and his sons and most likely throwing his "Banishment" in his face in a snide but cold tone saying that he is no longer welcome there and thus using her power to cause a cataclysmic event where you have to avoid energy attacks generated from the tower itself all the while trying to climb it using both the Material Plane and Spectral Plane shifts to make progress all the while the world shakes causing the trek to be as dangerous as the energy trying to strike you down. Not sure if you would have shift at will accessible after the first encounter with Kain but that would also be extremely helpful at this part if not I think each level has a conduit to allow you to continue. This is just speculation at my end but still it pains me to see that we lost a really good puzzle as well as a neat ability to play with since the Priestess's soul would've bestowed Raziel with the possession ability. But something pegs me as odd....if this is supposed to be the hub of Vampire Worshippers....why would they have almost everything that would kill the vampires....outside of the Sunlight which is probably non-existent here but there is still tons of water around which outside the Rahabim would not survive such a place....
An excelenet reconstruction of waht might have been, this night couldn't get better. I'm thinking that the earthquake effect and lightning are similar to the effects used when Raziel gets a new powerup, but I have no clue why they apper before the Priestess encounter. Keep doing Kain's legacy works!
the tower puzzle at 9:20 is a shifting puzzle that requires alot of crouch jumps + wing glide and some shifting in places, at least in the jan 23 build where the room does not violently vibrate the camera and nothing it firing lasers at you :P, but also doing said jumps in that build is a challenge in of its self with how unresponsive it can be to combine them. saw the builds appear on the hidden place :P so i was screwing around with some the unfinished puzzles.

On that note: I heard that the team who worked on the Nosgoth Beta mentioned her role was intended to lead fledglings safe from the sun's rays through the darkness of the underground tunnels, even in the original game. Then the worshippers would tend to the wounded and even offer their own blood to help them recover. This would mean fledglings from Raziel's clan, too would use these tunnels and her role could predate the moment Raziel was cast into the Abyss. This also brings to light another interesting case. Her supernatural abilities, having learned a level of sorcery from the vampires, was not only to possess those she encounters but possibly to live a much longer span of life as well. Since she is apparently still human in nature, she can't devolve. The fact that Raziel has come to kill the very one who preserved his and many other clan fledglings makes suitable her quip, "Heretic! Welcome to your undoing." That second part has a double meaning, whether it be intended or not.
I can watch this video over and over again. So many things make sense after watching the entirety of the buildings. Such an intrincate machinery of architecture! The lack of reaction of the priestess as she's being thrown away and slaughtered before becoming ashes is definitely a mood. Thank you!
Incredible work! One the one hand I really would have wanted this area to be in the game, but on the other hand the cut content is part of what makes this game a legend.

Mannnnn... this looks so good! Now thinking about it, yes, the game did seem "empty" in some aspects...like...where are all the other vampires or beings?... Having all this other things makes it a much more complete game. I hope we get a proper remake one day.
I wonder if the idea was those rays were actually spells that the priestess would cast at you while you fought the vampires on the lower levels? I'm not sure if it's because of the trepidation of the screen or if they are actually particle effects, but if you look on the floor where the beams collide they look like fire trailing effects. Why this happens elsewhere I haven't a clue accept maybe the Priestess is close to the area and is targeting you from there due to glitches?
The only thing that comes to mind is the eyes seen in SR2 that required the dark reaver. It may had something to do with Prestress unfinished attack maybe? If areas have overlapping issue, it would be understandable why it was excluded from the final release.
Sadly,as much as everyone would love to see a TRUE remake of these games,I don't think it will ever happen...don't know about the legal points...but it's unlikely that anyone capable of it can make use of the franchise today.

Maybe its just me but I dont want a remake of what the game could have been. I want the extras to add to a remake and add to what we can do but keep the story mostly intact. I kind of want the extras they took out to just be added in as more to do. It might mean a few interesting renaming of things and a few adjustments and additions the removed parts are playable and it just adds to the world.

What surprized me more is not what I have seen in this video but what I've heard. I mean I have never heard this version of Dumah's Territory music. I can clearly hear that it's orginal but is it an extended version or what? Where can I listen to that?
I wonder if the energy bolt/earthquake effect is something to do with the Priestess' line of dialogue about Raziel's 'sorcery' being useless in 'this holy place'. Was this perhaps the deterrent to Raziel using any of the glyphs/the Reaver? Is the Reaver considered sorcery and the constant attack supposed to damage him and thus disable it?
for me the earthquake (after playing the alphas since his release to the public) seems to be just a bad camera bug, actually the same happens on Turel's Clan; the reaver is higly possible to be disabled on the Priestess fight, just remember the intro of SR2 with Moebius.

I loved the feel of the Citadel, but it definitely seemed even back then like there were a lot of places where it should lead to another area and didn't. With the Undercity attached, it makes a lot more sense.
In the final game when I first found the human citadel I kept expecting to find plot related stuff but as I never did, it really added to the feeling of "I should not be here!"
Now imagine being a vampire cultist and having to do all that every time you want to visit the temple.
I need a proper remake so bad. One of the few things I want in life, believe it or not.

The citadel seemed a bit empty and pointless in the game to be honest.
