    I was getting ready to change out the thermostat and saw this video. I had washed the engine the day before and it must have froze the cable up. A squirt of penetrating oil on the cable and it works great. Thanks so much.

    Excellent! The cable was stuck on the bracket. Moved it and tightened the screw. Perfect now I have heat!

    Thank you so much, man! I tried replacing the heater control valve and even the heater relay on my 2003 Tacoma with no luck after the heat stopped working. I think I have the same problem as you did with the accuator. I'm gonna check that right now. Muchas gracias, amigo!

    Hey man thanks a lot!! That little regulator thing, underneath the dash, passenger side, was disconnected on mine. You really saved me thanks again 👋

    Could you please tell me which hole shoots the coolant out and which hole returns the coolant at the connection on the engine? I replaced the 2 hoses going to heater core and didnt mark which is out and which is in

    I have a 2002 toyota tacoma prerunner and i have the same problem. So you say that the actuator is bad? My water valve is good i can open it and close itmif i disconect the cable like you did.
    But what if it gets warm during the day? Won't it get hot inside the cabin because you can't shut the heat valve?

    • @claudediedrick1380
      @claudediedrick1380  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can shut the valve off so that hot water cannot flow through

      @@claudediedrick1380 Thank you.
      I found the problem. It was the actuator that sits under the passenger side, the small 12v motor was no good.
      Cheers

    Thank you if I couldn’t compare your actuator to mine I wouldn’t find the problem and would’ve spent money for someone to fix it. The previous owner didn’t fully connect it

      This really was a very good video. I bought a brand new 1998 Toyota Tacoma and have owned and driven it these past 25 years and as you know these little trucks can run forever with minimal repair. This cold morning my heater wouldn't blow hot even after the car was at normal running temperature after a few minutes. I checked the valve under the hood at the back of the engine on the firewall and a little arm connected to the cable is moving back and forth freely. I want to check the next location you went to however I couldn't tell by your video where are the next location was. I couldn't tell if you went under the car or under the dash to find the next location you went to. I could see the third location you went to you showed as an example was under the dash but can you please tell me what the second location involving the heater was? Was that under the dash or somewhere under the car? Thanks.

    I also have a 2000 toyota tacoma prerunner and with that one there are no electrical actuators it is all manual because when i turn the control lever even without the engine being running it opens the heater water valve. So the 2002 is going to be an expensive fix because most likely that part is a dealer item only i hope i can find it after market.

    I did that and mine still don’t work.
