We take a look at the new HyperX Fury Memory Kit - showing you that you dont need to spend loads of money to buy good looking kit! www.overclock3d... Manual memory set up guide: www.overclock3d...
I've got the blue version of these @ 1600mhz. So far it seems very reliable and a really nice value for the money. I also like the slim, low profile heat spreader on these as well. I really like the idea of mixing and matching the colors though. It never really occurred to me when shopping for RAM. lol
This is perfect. I was gonna go with G.Skill sticks without heatspreaders, because it was the only OK looking set in my price point. But this is just amazing...
I just realised your ding-thumby-uppy thingy that you do at the end of every video is subliminal messaging to thumbs up the video... and it has worked all this time.
Did you have any problems with running 2 Dual channel kits? I I read somewhere that doing so could present issues with timing, not really sure about the validity of that statement.
Now you say it I remember I've seen it on your x79 builds. But with this kit and this video focussing I am like "woah, this is actually pretty awesome"
Thx for this video! I'm still waiting for the Haswell refresh for a huge PC update and I definately need to save money so those look like a great option!
If anyone wants to upgrade, i still highly recommend the HyperX Fury 1866Mhz CL10 1.5V for DDR3 builds. I bought 2x8GB this week new for only 67 Euros. They're running now at 2133Mhz on a G1 Sniper M3 with an i5 3750k @4.2Ghz. With the ram at 1.64Volts i managed to tighten the timings to CL9 11 10 30 (!) All on 2133 and still stock Trfc 243 and Command Rate 1T! :D ... The MaxxMEM2 results blew me away: Memory-Copy: 24474 Mb/s * Memory-Read: 24429 Mb/s * Memory-Write: 20711 Mb/s * Memory-Latency: 46,4 ns * Reached Memory Score 22,24 Gb/s * I'm happy that there is no need to buy TridentX 2133 CL9 11 11 31 @1.6V for 90 Euros (what also would be a good buy :)
I wish I could get some of these heat spreaders to replace the tall spreaders on my Hyper X Beast ram. :( C'mon Kingston offer low-profile spreaders for your higher-end ram too! I like that these are pretty understated in the looks department.
why do reviewers keep saying stupid crap like "i dont think anyone should be buying ram below 1600MHz" when they know for sure, for an absolute fact that for anyone using their pc just for gaming and the occasional video maybe will never see a performance difference going above 1333MHz or usually really anything 1067 or higher is at the top 100% in performance for a gaming rig...
Well your wrong, people can help clarify this but the way amd cpu architecture works faster the ram the better. As the faster ram really helps boost performance. I'm on Intel but a year or 2 back I'm sure that was mentioned.
Not even gaming. The PC I use at work has 1333Mhz and everything works just fine. Of course, if you want to do rendering, faster memory helps, but for development f.e., I do not see faster memory being of an advantage, I just need a lot of memory, rather then fast one. As for gaming: I got a little performance boost going from 1600Mhz to 2133Mhz memory playing Battlefield 4 (around 5 fps). But that is one of the only games I can think of that uses more then 2GB of Vram at 1080P and streams textures from your Ram if the Vram is full.
TAGSProle not true, it's integrated graphics that requires faster ram such as 2133MHz or 2400MHz, most of the cpus amd released over the past couple of years have just been APUs so i guess i can see where you got confused as they use integrated graphics... any system using a graphics card (still pretty much everything right now) will not see any performance increase due to fast ram.
megaspeed2v2 The frostbite 3 engine used in BF4 works unique regarding descrete graphics and ram speed: www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2013/october/battlefield-4-loves-high-speed-memory Going from 1600Mhz to 2400 Mhz with an 4770K and 780 GTX Sli system gives you 22.7% more frames @1080P.
David Rappl Yay for people being educated! Thank you sir for bringing informative and concise discussion to a website that has a distinct lack of it. And the difference between 1333 and 1600 is significant, definitely. It's harder to make a case for the guy that just *has to* overclock his memory from 2700 (OC) to 3000 (OC). I know people like that, those last 300 MHz will not save your life, but going from 1333 to 1600+ just might.
Forget yellow and green; I'd like a silver and/or gold pair. Specifically the gold should compliment the Asus and Noctua brands. Oh well there's always the Corsair Vengeance.
I've got the 8GB 1866mhz kit. I've managed to overclock it to 2133mhz, but it is only stable when I bump the voltage up to 1.6V. I can't seem to get my system to boot up at all with the RAM clocked to 2400mhz. My motherboard isn't the problem cause it supports up to 2400mhz, and my APU is a AMD A10 7870K, so I really require those faster speeds.
I have 2 reds and 2 whites...but i have got to admit i do love the texture on those white sticks...they feel nice...red is very smooth...what about blue and black? Do they have coarse texture like white or smooth like red?
I;m kinda comfused, but you can mix this kit? I have the blue fury kits and i want to mix it with black. Will that work? Sorry if he stated in the video. Didn't seem to hear him if he did.
Why aren't there any white pcb's for motherboards? A white case with a mobo on a black pcb is just not working for me and is the only reason i have never gone for a white case!
Why are their no good looking amd boards aside from the ASUS rampage. I would like a nice looking mobo but no one makes them for the am3+ platform kinda makes me want intel
if i use white only hyper-x fury to a motherboard black and red colored scheme...does it look good or not? or better if is use the red one? btw i planning to buy a white pc chassis
Both 1600Mhz and 1866Mhz 8/16 GB kits are CL10...i can get CL9 normal HyperX , Crucial Ballistix Sport or Adata XPG for the same amount of money...the only reason why would someone want to buy this fury is the white one.For red, blue and black u have better options
My corsair vengeance (4 x 4gb) has been running at 1800mhz @ 1.65v since I bought them, no problems.. Even though they are only rated at 1600mhz @ 1.5v
I have Adata xpgV2 4x4gb and it's been running 1866mhz@ 1.50v but rated for 1600mhz it can also push 2033mhz but I start getting very few mem test errors.
Hello guys can you help me ;) 1.Can i know the difference between hyper x savage and fury and does it support and runs on my pc which is mobo GF615M-P33 MS 7597 and amd phenom ii x2 555 if im planning to buy the 8gb 1800 mhz or the 1600 mhz either savage or fury DDR3 depends on the compatibility 2. If im planning to upgrade my motherboard, which one i should buy in order for me to use it directly on my old pc setup? the 1800 or 1600mhz hyperx Fury or Savage that i can use for now as my current ram is not working
Hi Tom,I have these Hyper x fury 1866 Mhz Rams its a kit 16 Gb (2x8 Gb),I decided to buy another kit same company same memory same speed, but it looks there is something wrong me motherboard suport max 32 Gb which is enought. But the system sais 32 Gb installed (16 Gb usable) and thats not all I had a problen win 7 installed all drivers fine but I was unable to download anything. So I took out the new kit and the problem was solved. But now I am confused, whay is this hapening there should be no problem with this if they are same speed and the motherboard suport 32 Gb where is the problem? Thanks for any advice
Hi norbert puhl, It´s crazy, your motherboard should support these 32Gb of RAM memory. Mine supports 64Gb and now I´m on afraid of to use (4x16Gb). Did you write about it to your motherboard manufactory?
Antonio Jesus,do not worry to use (4x16Gb). The problem was solwed.I messed up,I didnt bought the Ram sticks together and at the same time, there was nearly a year difference so I didnt remember exactly which one I did ordered at that time.Arter the new 2 Rams came I realized that they are not the same frequencies, the old once was 1600 Mhz and the new one 1866 Mhz,so they are not compatible. So the real problem was me not the Ram sticks
It´s good to know it!!! Anyway, we are using this PC to render drawings and to play online, so I´m trying to test the performances of memory, CPU and GPU. Thank you very much!
Personally the white and blue looks rather tacky, looks quite chavvy (probably not a word). However I think that cheap but simply styled memory kits are more more appealing that the extravagant 2400mhz kits from some manufacturers.

+Isticock Pie What ever fits your color scheme better. I personally like the red because it gives it a little bit of a red accent and makes it "pop" a bit

I have an Asrock 990fx fatality mobo, it also has a red and black theme. I don't know which ones I should choose. Red / White or Red/Black. imgur.com/a/7RrwS I am currently using corsair vengeance, which doesn't fit in with the build.

You sure make some of the best reviews, great that you bring up the aesthetic
Using white to accent blue looks really sharp. Might opt for an 1866 pairing to build a new rig if they go on sale later in the year.
Tom Logan Just wish that they had an orange kit to match the Gigabyte Z87X-OC! :)
I'm glad they are low-pro, there's no reason for RAM sinks to be any taller than these.
12 min spent on the color of his ram 10/10 would watch again
Those colors really pop.Great video Tom.
Got a blue 2x4 kit for cheap.
It's solid so far, absolutely no issues.
This is perfect. I was gonna go with G.Skill sticks without heatspreaders, because it was the only OK looking set in my price point. But this is just amazing...

Combining different sets is actually brilliant. I predict a new trend has been born today!
Ive done it before dude ;)
Now you say it I remember I've seen it on your x79 builds. But with this kit and this video focussing I am like "woah, this is actually pretty awesome"
I'm looking at my HyperX FURY 16 GB 1866 MHz in my rig right now, they look beautiful!
Beautiful ram.
You guys really make me wanna get these....
the red and black combination i like!

Another question Tom: When does function/performance outweigh looks? For example in a rig that's 800 , 1000, and 1300? (in your opinion)
Ordered the black and red kits for my GD65 :)
Finally a black PCB from Kingston Technology! :)
0:56 made me check my phone for new ebay information. Damn you Tom
I appreciate your concern for budget builders. You´re a humble guy Tom :D
Most people are gonna say, 1600 and 1866MHZ? Rubbish!!
Great video. Any colour paired with the white look awesome. Does it cause any problems using 2 x 2 kit sticks rather than a 4 stick kit??
Beautiful ram!I use Corsair 2133 LP 8GB BLUE

holy shit all these new components... !!!
Tom what is the best memory brand? The one that has the fewest issues and least amount of rmas?
the Blue + White is nice :)
i have the gigabyte D3H mobo too
Today's lesson "The white memory kit screams attention"
0:56 - got an ebay notification mate! :D
@OC3D TV You installed 2 dual kits on the mother board. Will they still work perfectly together?
I've got the 8GB 1866mhz kit. I've managed to overclock it to 2133mhz, but it is only stable when I bump the voltage up to 1.6V. Great video instant like and favourite
Man... Why do I love that accent so much... Such... wow.
I run 1333 memory overclocked. Cheaper with same performance as 1600.
The days when ram was cheap, I miss them
Unfortunately my PC hasn't go a transparent case I'm going for the black ones and that will compliment the inside colour of my pc.
Why aren't there any white pcb's for motherboards? A white case with a mobo on a black pcb is just not working for me and is the only reason i have never gone for a white case!
I just ordered 16 gb for my PC :)
Great vid. Cheers
is the 1800mhz any good and I like the blue and black because I have a black and blue motherboard
Should I get this or g.skill ram I want a cheaper dual channel 8gb ram set
Why are their no good looking amd boards aside from the ASUS rampage. I would like a nice looking mobo but no one makes them for the am3+ platform kinda makes me want intel
Is this good ram or i should get another one i need 8gb of ram 1600mhz that's below 80 dollars.
if i use white only hyper-x fury to a motherboard black and red colored scheme...does it look good or not? or better if is use the red one? btw i planning to buy a white pc chassis
Do you need some sort of cooling devise for this
nice kingston
love the red an white

Why don't they have ddr4 hyperx fury 16gb ram in white?
how to disassemble this easily (for painting them) link a video or something. Thanks!
Can I run a 1600mhz ram with a processor that supports only 1333mhz?
You can get these from Ebuyer right now!
Hey! I have it into my PC! I have the same kit !!! (2Red and 2white)!!
question about hyper x savage
Cas 10 ddr3?It had better be 2400 mhz. or it's a no go.
As for white dimms, I know corsair do a set, and also Team Vulcan.
Hello guys can you help me

Kinda disappointed that they are only in black for DDR4
its so damm hard that this whit and red combinate doesn't look quiet as godd in my maximus VI formula then in the UP4. :(
I have one question... if i already have 4gb with 1600 mhz and i want to buy one with 1866 how will work?
ohh well, then i will change the one with 1333 ^^ ty
can anyone tell me the difference between hyper x ddr3 1866mhz that's made in china and Taiwan ...im about to buy 4 8gb sticks that are made in china
What if I got 1x Kingston 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 CL9 and now I want to get 2nd same.. will it work if I pair them? in dual chanel? Thanks.
Yes
i ordered some
this stuff fits underneath my fan
blue and black looks best
Hey Tom where is your 295X2 review..I hear the card puts a beating on Nvidia latest SLI offering. Oh never mind I know that's the reason your not reviewing it, I mean you wouldn't want to lose that Nvidia contract!
I heard from a few big reviewers on youtube that not everyone was sent samples to review.
I dont have an Nvidia contract lol. They say never feed the trolls but fill your boots. You really shouldnt say stuff like that without asking first...........
OC3D TV lol
Lets just say I would have had it up like normal. As for contracts it doesnt fecking matter. Also all my static GPU's for test rigs and even my own personal rig are AMD cards. People like you just say shit without knowing all the facts. Honestly bores the fuck out of me
OC3D TV well I know this I just wanted to piss you off..I am just annoying like that.
R9 295x review?
I just got these brand new the white ones for £22.50 in original packing sealed the 8gb kit
Thomas Clarke where from???
+BROTEIN from an eBay shop
are these low profile?
Not sold on using white ram in a black system.
I have a h61h2-am3 motherboard, will 2x4 gb ddr3 work on it?
Yes, the HyperX Fury reviewed in the video should suit you just fine. Here's a table with all compatible ram from your motherboard's manufacturer: www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product/Product_Detail.aspx?DetailID=1229&MenuID=103&LanID=0
so i can use 4x4gb ram sticks? or do i have to use 2 of them? please help
Yes you can use 4 sticks if you have 4 slots:D
Sven Dreier yeah i got that know. i was just a bit confused. i heard the word "quad" and "dual"channel the first time so i didnt quite knew what it meant. Thank you anyways! :D
design is good, but chips are too slow. but ok, its entry level ram.
Dimension??
LXWXH?
I can't decide if I should get red ram sticks or black ram sticks.
My mobi is the MSI Z97 gaming 3 and a r9 380 msi card is going in it so i can't decide! Halp!
+Isticock Pie What ever fits your color scheme better. I personally like the red because it gives it a little bit of a red accent and makes it "pop" a bit
Saii Edits Yeh I was thinking bout too. Red would be cool.
+Isticock Pie it doesn't matter you only see it when you open up your pc
Syn Roadhog Well I have the NZXT S340 which has a window so I would be able to see it and anyways went with red sticks and it looks good
i got a black 8gb 1866 kit for £56.00 so im happy
Don't touch the gold bits!!!!!
any difference between red, white, blue ram ?
red is 1866mhz and white is 1600mhz :P
and the blue is 1333 mhz ?
1333 is enough for gaming and anything higher than that 0% increase in your fps.
¿Can anyone tell me if it´s possible to use 2 of these kits on an Asus Z97a motherboard?. Thanks
It's a 240 pin, DDR3, so yes.
piedradelcielo_12 yes, 1333, 1600 & 1866 tested and stable for Z97 MOBO
will it work with my GIGABYTE GA F2A58M-S1
They support every motherboard that has ddr3 on it...
They support every motherboard that has ddr3 on it...

To take a line from TTL, the white kit looks the dogs gonads.
are 6 bytes of ram enough to run goat simulator for pc?

I don't know which ones I should choose. Red / White or Red/Black.

I am currently using corsair vengeance, which doesn't fit in with the build.
That board looks like it has a lot of black accents already, so Red/White would make pop much better imo than Red/Black.
Hey thanks for your reply. Looks like Red/White is probably the best choice for the build.
Honestly, I feel like Red/White would be too much white in too small of a spot unless you're balancing white accents elsewhere.
50 pounds that's some heavy ass ram
