Thank you for this! I totally needed to see this today! It takes me back to that night when I was babysitting the ‘bad’ kid from town and he sat up with me to watch SNL and painstakingly recorded and paused the VCR to cut out commercials so I could get a good recording of my favourite band. Good kid 😊and still my favourite band. I always recommend listening to ‘Hail,Hail’ and ‘Corduroy’ if you’re looking for other Pearl Jam songs. Good job👍
that is a VHS tape artifact. They did Not For You, Daughter and Rearviewmirror that night. One of the few bands to get 3 songs since they were the biggest band in the world at the time.
I remember staying up to watch them on SNL. ..here we are 30 years later and tickets went on sale in presale on Friday and its still an Olympic event trying to get tickets. They are just that incredible live. My goal is 5 shows next year.
This is how “angry Ed” used to sing. “Not For You” is angry song in general. RVM is one of my favorites. You should listen to the album version of that.

This was a few days after Kurt cobain killed himself. Ed has said that’s why he wasn’t thrilled to be there.
