It’s not just about what is faster. That is only one aspect of a good tune. Just as important is cold start, overall drive ability, engine safety (knock), and emissions compliance for those of us in states that require emissions testing.
Ok guys to help you out both tunes have great drivability! As far as emission testing I don’t know because my state does not have emissions testing. However my car still has catalytic converters and I see no reason for it to fail emissions with this tune.
Frozen Stang I would love to do that but I need a lot more time at the track to be able to do 6 runs with adequate cool down. Plus the DA would be dropping a lot and affecting outcome. Main reason I ran and switched let it cool down for 30 min and ran again. Trying to keep it right around the same DA. But I can tell you they are that close all the time. If you caught the video of the race after ford Takeover I swapped in his tune there then.
@@SpeedAddict731 Honestly i think Daryl is more than competent to tune. Only so much you can do to tune a car. The smallest change in weather alters the outcome as you well know. But the double blind is hard to do cause you cant see the tree when it comes down. :)
Good comparison, the second tune was shifting earlier compared to the first tune. the first tune was shifting closer to 7700 rpm compared to 7500 with the second one.
Jorge Loves Speed thank you. Yep they both run great but are different. It’s interesting to look at the logs and see the shifting rpm difference and timing differences. But I always run a higher mph majority of the time with Daryle’s tune, right around same ET though.
Speed Addict 731 wow! Impressive ! Easily a low 7 car with more bolt ons. I know you tested the 26” tire vs the 28” any noticeable difference? You have a pretty good 60FT for a 3.15 on a 28”!
I need to hurry up and get to the Dragstrip...they closed Englishtown New Jersey and they are closing Atco New Jersey.... I think I need to get to Lebanon Valley this weekend.

Thank you!! There is only so much they can do with the car given a setup on the car. The good tuners will all be very close to each other. One might edge out the other one but not by much.
Little hint all the engine tunes are almost exact however with the a10 tali’s where the tuners make it or break it with shift points shift pressure timing reduction on shift etc etc lol. These new transmissions can be tuned as much if not more than engine.
Eddie Pearl I agree that trans tunes can make or break how the car does. But I can tell you that these two tunes are different in how they make the power. Timing, cam phasing ect.

What's it run in the 1/4?
Twobarpsi last time I was at the quarter I ran a 7.6 in the 1/8th and a 11.6 in the quarter. So with me running 7.5 here. Should be 11.5.

Nickel white S550 I found it interesting that I ran 94.9 mph with 28 deg on the one tune and 95.1 and 95.3 with higher timing. Very little difference

Engine tunes are very different between many of us tuners and trans as well
