This is what I call a real mechanic no lift just some jack stands and on your back, I did the k-member on my 09 Shelby this way it took awhile but got it on, keep up the good work.
" SO its definitely a lil biter louder...cold starts are a lil bit louder..Pans left....I'm not even sure you can hear me over this...pans left and pause LMFAO...."haha good stuff man...your a champ...give me confidence to install these my damn self.
Hell yeah brother. Thanks again for helping me with the lighting on the ST before I moved out here to SC. I ended up selling her in November and getting a Mustang too. This video will be a huge help when that time comes as well. Keep the content coming.
For the last 3 top bolts on the passenger side how did you get em off? I just finished my driver side today got a little late so I decided lemme knock some off the passenger side lol I left it exactly how you left it all bolts off, motor mount off, ac lines to the side, and I gave up on the last 3 top bolts going towards the inside of the car lol did you use a wrench? Any type of special tool?
I really wish I could remember. That was over 4 years ago. Think I used a combination of wrenches and sockets with a wobble. Also I see I didn't film it due to not being able to get the shot. I may have done it from above and below. I do remember they were not easy.
@@PinksGarage update today, got 2 out lol currently stuck on the last one closest to the passenger side firewall lol it’s driving me crazy. Nothing but wrench and some muscle to it 💪
Wow this is just a great video! Very informative!!! Gave me a lot confidence on doing the install myself. Compared to other videos with all those video transitions; this is way different, this gives the viewer a wider view of where to work at instead of a closeup view from other yt vids (LMR, etc.)! Having a wider view really shows where to find the parts to remove/work on. Really like the video!l man! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I know Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the password. I love any tricks you can give me!
Calling it something like Ford Mustang GT Long Tube Header Install will get you more hits when people search for it on Google or TH-cam. More views/subscribers. Think if someone goes to Google, types mustang header install, this is likely to come up in their search efforts.
How did you take off the ground coming from the alternator to the mounting bracket on that one that you stripped is it just mine that it’s connected to?
Are you getting any false knock with those primaries pretty much touching each other? How have the headers held up? Pretty noticeable difference on the butt dyno?
No knock that I have noticed. Headers are doing great 2 plus years later. It is also now running a 5th Gen Whipple 3L SC. Have a full custom exhaust from collectors back. 900 RWHP.
@@PinksGarage nice! Sounds killer. I’m looking into going with an ESS centri sc. will just be starting out on a big pulley until I get return style fuel system so I can pulley down and run e85.
On american muscle for the kooks they removed the black plastic oil tray and the k-member (yours looks gold in the video) Do you think removing these is a must if easy? Will have my car on a lift so I'm thinking everything will be quite a bit easier. Thanks for making your video, Always like to watch a few before I do my own work just to make everything easier.
I'm currently installing headers on my 14 GT I'm having trouble taking the top nuts on the passenger side manifold. I know you didn't show it and I was wondering What and how did you squeeze anything in there
Mad props man for doing those headers on jack stands . Iv'e heard there a bitch to do . I had Livernois motorsports install mine with the Whipple build ..
@@PinksGarage heck yeah, the reason I asked is I went with jba long tubes. I haven't got them installed yet but they sent me two different set of bolts with them. I just feel like removing all those header studs to put in bolts would be alot of not needed work..

I have slightly upgraded, I bought a quick jack.
My favorite part is the jackstand on the oil pan. jesus
Yes, I'm lifting the motor. That is where you place it to do so.

happy to help
great video! I was wondering What tool did u use to take out the bolt that are attached to the air conditioner
Man that bolt looked like a tough one. Lots of work! Great video!
Yes it was a pain

Which Mustang did you get? Where in SC?
Pinks Garage Columbia SC. Went with the 19 GT PP1 w/MT82 as we discussed.
Nice to see a video! Keep after it!
Thanks. Have one more I am editing now.
Thanks for the video! I want to install them on my car my bolts are really rusted and I’m worried about snapping them.
I was lucky mine weren't rusted. It is a pain either way.

Good luck with that last one. If I had to do it again, I would pay someone to do it.

@@PinksGarage what are the tools you used to install? Don’t want to go rewatch the whole part 1 & 2 lol and thanks in advance 🙏🏽
@@nyongtv6028 I do not remember. That was a year ago. You will need a good socket mostly metric. Gear wrenches help. And just basic tools.

You should put a different title on this video so more people find it. LMR and CJ have good videos but this a good in-depth one for people to consider
Not really sure how to make it a better title. Open to suggestions.

Advice taken. Appreciate help like this. Thank you.
Definitely only reason I found this video here 4 years later!!
How did you take off the ground coming from the alternator to the mounting bracket on that one that you stripped is it just mine that it’s connected to?
Honestly, I don't remember. It's been over 3 years.

do i need a tune after long tube header install?

@Jedediah Orr Nice the ESS is a great kit. If I didn't get the whipple for such a good deal, I would probably have an ESS
After 4 years, have you had any problems after reusing the OEM studs and nuts on the headers?
No, I haven't, but It hasn't been driven much in the last 2 years. Had a whipple installed and now down with clutch issues
Thanks! I’m installing a set of Kooks on my 2014 and trying to decide if I want to reuse the studs and nuts or buy the locking header bolts.
Hey brother, I have a question for the headers that connected the mid pipe. What bolt did you use to make both of them join together?
I'm pretty sure they were 7/16th by 3" stainless. They have been on there for 3 years.
Thank you brother

Removing those things wouldn't hurt, just takes longer
@@PinksGarage Awesome! Thanks Man.
I'm currently installing headers on my 14 GT I'm having trouble taking the top nuts on the passenger side manifold. I know you didn't show it and I was wondering What and how did you squeeze anything in there
I lifted the motor slightly and used a combination of racheting wrenches and sockets with wobble adapters and extensions.
Also, I'm not sure the differences between the S197 and S550
@@PinksGarage I have a AC line im the way of one of the top bolts and its really messing me up
@@josecuevas4948 then you may need to lower the motor
Long headers can be used with stock pipes? Or do I need to change them too?
Originally, I had them with stock pipes.
how did you get the passenger front top bolt out? I've been trying to get mine out for 4 hours lol
It was a combination of raising and lowering the engine and wobble heads
What is that blue tool that’s hoisting the engine up? I been looking for it.
Its a bottle jack.
Did it make anymore hp that you could tell..what size did you have 1 7/8 are 1 3/4 and how are they holding up
1 7/8 and there was a slight pickup in power

Not after installing them

they are very much a bitch to do. I put off installing them for a year. I would love to do a Whipple or any other forced induction build.
Pinks Garage a Blown Coyote will change your life . I’m Blown away at the power band of this car 🚗.
How’s the eBay headers been?
Pretty good. No issues so far.
Did you have any issues with exhaust leaks?
No I didn't
Did you re use all the stock studs and nuts?
I actually don't remember. But I am pretty sure I used the stock ones.

Sounds amazing and what effort in that tight space. Definitely not clostrophobic
Thanks. It was a complete pain doing that.
How did you take out the very front top motor mount bolt on the passenger side ? I can't get to it
it has been so long. I know I had to raise and lower the motor to get to all of them. also I have a ton of different tools
@@PinksGarage I got it I had to raise the motor and use a swivel wrench
What would I expect a shop to charge for a header install?
I have no idea anymore. Used to be in the $500 range
Looks like a pain in the ass
It was. Also now thinking about going back to the stock shorties with cat deletes. The longtubes make it real hard to get the trans in and out.
Did you have to dent the driver side?
Had to dent both sides. Driver for steering, passenger side for transmission removal.
Link to the mid pipe and headers?
I don't have the link anymore. I bought them over 2 years ago.
Holy shit I’m glad I’m smart enough to use air tools!
You use the tools you have.
