Mike Krol sure got a lot of mileage out of this episode. He was a classmate of Rebecca Sugar and some other Crewniverse members at the School of Visual Arts, so they reached out to him to do a cameo and use two of his older songs. It ended up blowing up and Mike got his first two albums (the ones with "Like a Star" and "Fifteen Minutes") re-released and an official music video made for "Fifteen Minutes". That's various crew members appearing in the audience at the concert.
The pure joy of "Last One Out of Beach City" is just something special.
It's my favorite episode of the whole show.

Oh man, two of the best episodes of the season in this one! Here Comes a Thought is a song that just makes me bawl every time I hear it. This is dangerous watching this at my desk at work.
Last One Out of Beach City is one of my top 5 favorites of the whole series. My favorite Pearl episode easily, she's so cool in this one!

"Last One Out of Beach City" is also one of my favorites, it's just so much fun and such a huge step forward for Pearl. It cemented her solidly as my favorite character... until something happened that put someone else ahead of her...
"Future Boy Zoltron"... is an episode, I guess? Being sandwiched between those two bangers doesn't do it any favors, but I also think it's just not particularly great. Not because it's a townie episode, I'm a big advocate for those, but just because I don't think it quite gels.

I love Pearl, she's my favorite character - I think, maybe I relate to her a lot or sth? But I love how complex her character can be and the growth she has through the show...

I really hope she finds a healthy relationship out of the gems, she deserves to have someone. We know people don't NEED to be in a relationship, but Pearl enjoyed being in a relationship (Rose being aware of it or not - I'm pretty sure P saw it as that, and it did not go well)...
