Hi Alan what a fantastic session, just unbelievable. To see you and the other guy laughing like that it just puts a big smile on my face. Wow .that's fishing.......😃🤙🤙💪💪💪🤗👋👋
Thanks Mario !!! Yeah a big point of these vids is to share some laughs and happiness. Listening to people laugh and have fun whilst sharing a passion like fishing is what its all about. Sometimes we go a tad over the top but its supposed to be fun and encouraging. Really glad you enjoyed it.
I am watching this episode right now as I'm typing on C31 hahaha. 3pm Saturday 27th Nov. I was surprised when I saw Fishing mad on the tv guide. Congratulations on the tv show Alan.
Congratulations Allan we have come across a salmon school few years ago we bagged out they are fun to catch however I have never come across a school of salmon since I had the boat for 3 years caught many from the rocks and surf fishing they fight like mini marlin enjoyed your video
Thanks Phillip, yeah the salmon movements have been really strange in recent years. I too have a boat and find I catch more in the kayak as they tend to stick to shallower areas. Gee they fight so well even a 40cm can have ya hanging on when using bream gear. Got some decent size ones in this vid particularly towards the end.
Awesome fishing with you and the others out there Alan. Loved my little cameo around that 34minute mark doubling up on those big ones! What a day, what a session! How good?!
Thanks 👍 Yeah it was pretty epic out there. Great to see you guys on the water and also great to see you catching some great fish aswell. Glad we got ya in the vid
Thank you so much, the hours that goes into getting out and creating the content is nuts, so its really pleasing to know people are enjoying them. Thanks again !!
Just bought the 7'6 3-5kg this morning with a Xmas gift voucher, haven't used it yet but if it's anything like my old 7'6 3-5kg LRF I'll be happy as Larry
@@fishingmad was initially out to target snapper but nothing was biting Ended up out infront of the pier and got a hook up when winding the baits in then it was on bagged out between the 2 of us in 30 minutes
Thanks Jared, 100% agreed mate. Glad you enjoyed the vid. It was pretty hectic out there. Hopefully they hang around for a while, as sometimes there is hours of sitting around waiting for snapper these sessions are fun and memorable.
Thanks !! Yeah for whatever reason i seem to be finding the schools around November/December in recent years which is strange as you would expect to be on them in Winter
New arrival in Australia, needed some tips on beach and estuary fishing and found your channel. Never used soft plastics before, fished mostly lake and river in UK. I caught my first Aussie bream after watching your tips video. Cheers, Alan!
Epic session man, how good are salmon! Whether people like eating them or not there is no denying they are one of the most enjoyable fish to catch, which is what its all about! This is just making me even more excited to chase the 5+kg beasts (actually common in WA in that 75-82cm size class, which coming from Melbourne myself was a shock) on the light stuff soon, awesome stuff man 🔥🎣
@@fishingmad always good to watch when someone is catching. Especially when you get onto a good bust up. Looks like the new rod held up pretty well 👌. Hope to see you out on the water some day 👍
Thanks Troy, yeah was a killer session with heaps of good catches. Yeah hope to see you out there aswell. Hopefully these salmon hang around for a little while
Thanks Les, yeah it was pretty epic out there. Very tiring LOL. Its a Savage Gear garfish jighead that comes prerigged with soft plastics. Ive had it for a year or two and never used it. Thought id give it a crack whilst the salmon were busting up and caught the 2 big ones with it, i was worried that the lead at the front might stop hooks ups but it didnt thats for sure.
@@fishingmad ill have too look out for one I went out today in got the windy we had to bail out I think next year we are going to come visit for a fish.
yeah the weather has been terrible this past week, so hard to believe were so close to summer. Frequent wind, rain and well below average temperatures has made it really strange. I'm Glad your coming down for a fish
Thanks John, yeah was a pretty epic session. Funny enough I dont eat them, I give them to a few mates who swear they taste amazing if bleed and cooked properly.
I know, I only took soft plastics. Really wish I had some surface lures on me. I was with some guys and showing them how to use plastics so I wasn't planned for it. Strangely enough they were mainly taking the plastics as it hit the bottom on this occasion.
What a frantic session, Alan!! Watched till the end!! Awesome video!!👍👍👏👏👏 Alan, how do you bleed these fish? I’ve seen ppl ‘breaking’ the spine of these fish! Do we really have to do that? Thanks Alan!!🙏🙏🙏
Thanks !!! I really appreciate it and really glad you watched until the end !!. I usually spike the fish first than do a small cut around the throat area, they bleed out straight away doing this. It will be very obvious and you just put them in your net for about 20 seconds and there all good to store in the eski. I know a lot of kids and family watch the show so ive never been one to show dispatching fish on the channel. I hope that helps
@@fishingmad Yes thats right Alan I watch your vids with my 7yr old daughter who likes to come on the kayak with me fishing. The lack of crude language in your videos is also very appreciated, thank you.

Sg2 - 8 is the fresh water series have you had any troubles yet using it sea fishing as i accidentally ordered the sg4 but realised later in the week that Savage gear do a Savage gear salt line of reels which I was after in the first place.
Hi Robert, in Aus the Savage lineup of rods is quite different, we dont have the SG4 or SG8 rods. We have instead the 1DFR Stealth rods and the black rods and the SG8, SG6, SG4, Sg10 reels.
@@fishingmad Right definitely differ as there is a sgs4 sgs6 sgs8 sgs10 reels here which is the salt version & then we have the sg2 sg4 sg6 sg8 which are fresh water
Incredible session lad ! Great battlers . The Savage Gear definitely stood up to the challenge. How have you rated the Sg8 Reel overall? Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 Atb Tony
Thanks !! yeah it was a great session. I'm still on the fence with the SG8 reels locally we have bigger known brands with reels at similar price points like the Shimano Nasci and Daiwa Exceller which may be better value.
Stumbled across the channel and absolutely love it! A new subscriber. With the SG8 reel/rod combo what brand braid was that? Do you think the rod would pair equally well with the 2500 SG8? Thanks for the great content!
Thanks Tristan, welcome aboard. Heaps of vids on our channel so feel free to go back and view some of the other content which you should enjoy too. In this vid I was using Savage Gear silencer 2 braid. There is also other great braid options on the market aswell. This might be helpful fishingmad.com.au/review/best-braid-fishing-line-2021 I think that rod would pair even better with a 2500 reel. The reality is the 3000 and 2500 are very similar just deeper spool on the 3000 and about 6 grams heavier, id go the 2500 for sure
@@fishingmad Thank you Alan, really appreciate the reply! I must admit I have binge watched a lot of your content over the weekend and have an upcoming trip where I plan to use your paternoster rig 😊.
Hi Steve, I have been using both those reels for past few months. Your specs are 100% right the vanford is 180g and the SG8 is 210g so it is a tad heavier than the Vanford. In your hand you feel a slight difference but nothing major. Makes sense when you consider the SG8 is $199 and the Vanford is $369 or on special at times for 299
Looks like the city in the background and houses to his rear right on the way out. Looked like the corner of the Altona esplanade that heads down to WG Cresser reserve.
These punch well above their weight, snapper have like 2 or 3 big runs at the start then just head shakes on the way up Still awesome fun but Aussie salmon on bream gear is something else
I've caught snapper in big numbers don't you worry, Salmon and Snapper fight completely differently. Snapper have multiple big runs, where are salmon fight the whole way. I very much enjoy them both. This video is to highlight just how much fishing can be, no need for any negativity.
@@fishingmad was a little negative wasn't it, but I reckon people under rate salmon so badly when it comes to the fight Get em on to a few schools and that'll change their mind
Thanks !! I think people forget sometimes how exciting it is when your surrounded by a big bust up and things are chaotic. Its supposed to be fun and even a tad silly at times to make it fun and enjoyable. Its not always text book and that would be boring. I agree that Salmon are really surprising fighters. The busts of speed, the constant fight, the leaps out of the water, its just fun and enjoyable.
