Nice one Alan. I'm loving the Zman STs too, it could partly be the time of year, but the fish are biting well on them, and they are decent at holding scent.
Al, whatever cordless tools you have at home you can get a USB adaptor for the battery. Hook it up to your gopro permanently with the custom side door that exposes the USB C port
Thanks so much !! yeah a few months ago I had a system that was working with constant power, but still ran into a few problems with mounting the powerbank and cables coming loose. The new GoPro 12s have far better power consumption, so I might bite the bullet and get one of those.
Thanks !! Yeah I've been on the Enduor batteries since they came out they make a big difference in runtime and most importantly help heaps with the units constantly overheating. Have had some big issues with GoPros in recent generations. That's awesome about the trout too !!
@@fishingmad some people use a little umbrella attachment for them too, maybe if you are desperate in the summer it might help with the 3rd person cam. There is some specifically for action cameras
The two times I fished the Barwon from the bank (15 years ago) got idiots doing doughnuts on their jet-skis right in front of us. Old bloke next to me cast out a 4 ounce star sinker and wrapped it around one 😂.
Yeah there is no shortage of boats and skis there. Can be challenging on the kayak navigating but most times I've been there people have been respectful to each other, but you see some weird and wonderful things out there all the time
Was all recorded on the same morning. I launched on my mate Chris outback and about 2 hours in we swapped back kayaks. Hope that helps clear up any confusion. Cheers
This was recorded a few weeks back now. We always try to mix up the locations and target species to keep things interesting for viewers and eliminate repetition. I've prob done better for trevally in the cooler months but might give them some time this summer and see what the results are
The Outback is fantastic. It does really depend on what type of fishing you want to do. The outback is lighter, a little faster and turns easier however the PA14 is more stable, has significantly more room and more storage. If you fish estuary, lakes, and the bay in calm cond the outback is a wonderful option, if you want the best of stability, space and storage you cant go past a PA14.
Its different all the time, depending on a lot of factors such as tide times and conditions. Also depends on what your targeting as many species generally fish well early morning and late evenings.
I'd love to actually catch a fish to throw it back, LOL! I have been river fishing 3 times and pier fishing 4 times for nothing so far. I do enjoy being near the water though, so there has not been a bad day fishing yet. Got a weekend up on the Buffalo river this weekend so hopefully going to pop my fish cherry. Going to take some nightcrawlers and small hooks plus a couple of hard plastics (including a lure that looks like a moth, which got a hit last time but didn't hook). I would love any advice from anyone with river experience, particularly with brown and rainbow trout.
Hello Sir, I discover your channel by suggestion of TH-cam. I like it very much. I am a beginner and I do not know how much to take in grams for the leaded head and the size of the soft lure. I have a very light rod in 5/30grams and I would like to fish from the beach. What do you recommend ?
Soft plastic grub has got to be the best lure, it can catch literally anything! Bloody cracking video Alan, as always good editing, footage and fish. You should do a video at Patterson river soon, it’s actually quite a good spot. All the best mate
Thanks !! Much appreciated. Yeah ive caught hundreds of fish with that plastic over the last 12 months and 100% I need to get up to patto soon and do a land base sesh there walking the banks. Have you been fishing there lately
@@fishingmad Yeah I have been. It’s basically my go to spot. I’ll send you a message of the best spots. It’s very productive consistently with bream, but often estuary perch, salmon, pinkies near the mouth, flatty, trevally and if your lucky, a mulloway
Great vid, and really appreciate how you identify where you are, as some channels refuse to disclose locations of where they are.
Those kayaks are unreal
Great session! Reminds me of a big night time trevally session I had with my Dad off the Merimbula bridge a few years ago
Amazing, im sure that would have been heaps of fun
Some nice circle work from those trevors
Sure was !!
Nice one Alan. I'm loving the Zman STs too, it could partly be the time of year, but the fish are biting well on them, and they are decent at holding scent.
Agreed, they are excellent across a variety of species and i do agree they hold scent really well, better than many others
Nice work mate great stuff
Thanks 👍
Another amazing vid Alan
Thanks so much, Glad you enjoyed it
Loving the videos Alan, was wondering if you could do a video fishing on the mornington peninsula soon? Cheers
Yeah, im well overdue to head back to that side of town to film, so hopefully will have some content from there soon.
@@fishingmad Sweet
@@fishingmadyou should try mount Martha cos there's heaps of snapper and pinkies
Yeah Mt Martha is an awesome spot, I've caught plenty of squid and snapper there over the years, just haven't been for a little while

@@fishingmad and use the white Endura batteries too if you are not already. Btw yesterday I caught a rainbow on this same lure, motor oil ST

Great session mate. Those Trevally look like so much fun! I wonder if they’re the same Silver Trevally we get in NSW?
Thanks !! Yeah I suspect they are the same trevally. They tend to change once you get closer to the top end of Australia.
What size jig heads do you use for this system Allan
1/8 and 1/12 in 1-0 cheers

Some of the footage were on a PA instead of the outback , different days?

Amazing video mate. Is that a recent trip Alan? What months are the Trevs active in that system?

Can you pls make a video of your go pro kayak setup
What sized grubs?
2.5 inch
Hi Alan, how do you rate the outback compared to the PA?
just get a Lynx

Yeah they are very good too.
Hey Alan! What time of the day do you go fishing? What time of day gets the best results? Cheers
