*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*
Wow, a 5 year warranty... that says enough I think! I'm curious about what makes the saltwater models tick. I have always wondered why the little gearboxes of spinning reels are not filled up with gear oil. End of the season you just drain the oil and refill it, no need to open up the gear housing! 😉
@@SavageGear That’s brilliant. That’s only a month away… 🤗🤗 !! . really appreciate The response back … every piece of tackle you guys make is absolutely awesome… well thought out and well made !!! Love it !! 👍🏽👍🏽😀😀
At first i look at this reel and i think: hmmm it's luuk like DAM/okuma design. But then i see this video with Robert Valkeneer who was designer for DAM and all is clear. I'm curious how it will compare to Quick 2,3,4,5,6. Outside look is different but I'm talking about inside.
I have the savage gear travel rods and so happy with them both and now want to purchase a savage saltwater reel but I haven’t yet found a site that sells spare parts for the future like bearings or washers or a spare handle in case I break one .based in the uk if anyone can help
I've got the SG4 2500 model grouped with the Savage Gear Rod SG4 Medium Game 2.15 m 10-40 g But im struggling to find the optimal branded or not cord... maybe you guys can help (this is for any type of river or lake fishing)
Have you done hot weather testing? Saltwater fishing out here in the Arabian Gulf is pretty brutal on any kind of gear. if it's not our hellish sun, it's dusty weather. How would the SGS8 stack up here?
Just got SG8 2500 Reel and on Website its says Weight 210g But when i got it Weight wos been 230g Same with SG4 Rod 3-14 They say 214g weight but wos been 230. I knew Weight its more for Professional peeoople But still not nice to laye SavageGears 😒
Is it 230g with the main spool, the backup (aluminum) spool, or no spool? How does it feel? Now that you've had it for 8 months, are you satisfied by this reel? Is it better than other spinning reels you've tried? Is it better at line management and does it prevent wind knots? I've got Daiwa Fuego 1000 this summer (supposedly one of the best reels for LRF) and it has better line management and prevents knots better than the Shimano Nexave, but the front drag knob on the Daiwa Fuego catches my line sometimes when closing the bail, and the line roller isn't as good as other brands. Is there something you don't like on the SG8 2500?
@@topouzidd Yes mate i still got that reel sg8 2500 And my opinion Price is too hight for that what they have… for 100£ you can took bettere shimano stradic and way to better well be !
@@РыбалкавАнглии-к1ц Thanks for your answer. Stradic 2500 costs €183, Daiwa Fuego 2500 costs €130, SG8 2500 costs €83. With that in mind, would you still avoid SG8?
@@topouzidd Yes i just check price and its 70£ they drop from 120£ to 70£… Yes my answer Avoid And take Shimano Sahara or Fuego! Thats reel way to better for price 70£ Savage good only with Lures and nothing more else to be honest with you. But again its only my opinion, im not say Sg8 its Bad, but i will prefer got for this money shimano or daiwa.
Garbage reel, did you guys even product test these things? The bail arm catches the line before the line roller and causes the line to lay to the top of the spool, went through 150m of expensive braid before I realised why I was getting wind knots every cast. Such a basic design flaw and clearly something that would have been caught if you had tested them in real conditions

Im so looking forward to this! Anything you guys need tested, I’m your man 🤣🤣

Unfortunately since switching from a Penn Battle 3 to a Savage Reel I've been absolutely plauged with braid wind knots.
