Yeah the 304 wranglers were at least financially attainable to most people. Almost 80 grand is getting pretty close to having another mortgage payment. The 5.7 I think would have been fine for a jeep especially a 2 door wrangler.

@@kalsworld2347 that will probably depend on how much it ends up costing you. Sticker on mine was around $93K and then a $10K dealer markup and the rolling over my upside down from my trade I ended up paying $108K for mine. I put zero money down and walked away with almost $1600 a month payments. My TRX is as fully loaded as you can get though

A lot of people talk crap about FCA, but who else is making vehicles like these? The only reason Ford is putting a v8 in the Raptor is because they want to try and compete with the v8 in the TRX

I hate to say it, but I would take the Wrangler. I love my Jeep and I am on my 3rd. I have owned a few Ram trucks and I liked them, but it just isn’t a wrangler. Going to Jeep events and doing the riding trails just can’t be beat.
The truck is a better value but the keep with 35s or 37s on a 2 inch aev lift would be dynamite. Aka exactly the rubicon I drive but with a hemi

@Riley Bodnar There were 4 1000whp Gen 2 Raptor's running around in TX2K. I would rather see those, despite sounding like garbage. But it's 700lbs lighter than the TRX with a better trans.
@Riley Bodnar Were talking same power levels lmao, 700lbs makes a huge difference. how is it hate if it's fact? The 2nd and 3rd Gen already destroys the TRX in approach/departure/breakover angles and wheel travel. Interior quality alone in the Raptor eclipses over that TRX. Infotainment is lackluster as reviewed by straight pipes. Sinister Scat raced the 3rd Gen and TRX and it was neck and neck, once Ford goes V8 its a full lockout. 90K truck but transmissions being destroyed in under 2K miles, towed out by a Raptor lmao. Plastics holding the battery and coolant reservoir behind the front bumper, after one jump it breaks. Plastic filled control arms, and front heavy, as seen by SS717, 3rd Gen jumps better.

My brain can't comprehend $77k for a new Jeep. I remember when they were under $20k new. A v8 isn't worth $50k over a 4 cylinder.
Just wait until the Grand Wagoneer comes out and pushes north of $100k for a top trim spec.
By the time most people can afford a used 392, gas cars will be illegal.
I thought 30k for my 2010 JK was too high. My brain can't compute this. Why are V8 vehicles so expensive now? Camaros and Mustangs are no longer the poor mans hot rods either. :(

well first the Cheapest Wrangler is a 2 door at 28k and it's a sport with roll up windows. The V8 here your talking about is Loaded Rubicon with a V8 Your Brain just need 2 know what a Loaded Jeep is and what a Stripp down K-Mart Special Jeep is. Also this is 2021 not the 80's

Just the fact that the Jeep is in the same hemisphere 0-60 (1/4 mile would be multiple car lengths on the jeep no doubt) and can do offroad like a proper Jeep is pretty damn amazing.

Yeah, it's the unique combo of the two that makes it's value so high. Extreme rock crawling capability (and ability to lift it and fit 37s or 38s fairly easily) combined with all that acceleration and torque.

Had a CJ , TJ and a JK loved them all ……then got a 2020 Rebel level 2 and it is amazing but the n the TRX bug hit me at high speed and have a 2022 black pearl on order and here any day . Great video guys as usual

The "premium" off-roading SUV segment is still one of the hottest and most lucrative in the industry.
This is why even premium brands, Bentley, RR, Lamborghini, even Aston Martin, all have jumped on that wagon.
It is not surprising to see Jeep, one of Stellantis' top power brands, set a premium price for a top off-roader with a performance engine. The demand and the market is clearly there, just as there's a market for a Raptor and a TRX...
Yes it's expensive, yes it's likely going to be marked up (supply and demand), and yes, they will sell each one of them.
The fact that it can keep up with the fastest truck on the market is pretty impressive, albeit nonsensical for a Jeep's true purpose
But just imagine the rooster tails you could make with that jeep.

Mercedes-Benz sucks. They are like those slutty hooker girlfriends back in college . They look nice and perform well but will suck your money when it comes to maintaining one. Vehicles like Nissan, Toyota, Jeep, Ford, GM, and Dodge are wife material. They break just like any car, but at least they won't rip you off like German brands.

I seen a TRX in person finally here in Franklin,Tn towing a box trailer I guess it’s business friendly and a nice tax write off. Atleast it’s being used as a truck.
Saw a few trx in southern Ontario. Even saw a Bronco sport yesterday too

I don’t know what TRX Andre is talking about for $77k. My customer placed an order for a TRX and didn’t even go nuts, and it was like $92k
My customer paid $125k after $10k markup and taxes. The msrp was around $98k. Not even close to $77k what tfl is thinking

@@bobbyedstrom5688 I've detailed and been around jeeps, don't get me wrong, they are nice BUT I can't justify spending that much on something even with a warrenty to go thrash it offroad and expect to not spend a fortune to get it fixed. Give me a 500dollar beater with a heater and I'd have way more fun building and fixing it than any overpriced jeep on the market now.

There is no question, I'd buy the Ram TRX over the Wrangler. I think you'd have to be insane to buy the Wrangler over the TRX.

I’ve never had a jeep but I’ve already got two pickup trucks. I don’t need another. But a jeep, especially with a v8 just like I like? With the ability to take off the roof and cruise on sunny days? Hell yea. I’d buy the jeep over the trx any day for that reason. Of course I’m lucky and money isn’t really an object either so that might effect it some.
Having owned multiple 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks to now owning a Wrangler and a Gladiator I would take the Wrangler 392 over the TRX all day. Neither of these are highly practical vehicles- they’re for fun, and for fun you cannot beat the open air experience of a Wrangler. Throw a V8 into the mix and the fun factor of this Wrangler will be off the charts. Not to mention having seen a TRX in person- it is absolutely massive. Now if Jeep will only give me a V8in a Gladiator...

And you can get the 4Xe for $20k less than the 392.
The 4Xe is not only cheaper, you get much better mileage, a federal tax credit, state incentives such as HOV and because of electric torque may feel quicker around town.

As a jeep owner, while they are the best vehicles, I can indeed confirm that they are not made to drag race.
They definitely aren’t. I have a couple of time slips in the glovebox of my two door JL with a 6m. Neither time was great, but I ran out of time at the test and tune. It sure did make people smile though when they saw it line up!
Sadly they will be electric by the time I would be having enough money to buy any of them.😩😩

I hear people asking....No 392 Gladiator? I'd say give it time. Like a year or so. I'm sure its on the discussion table. Also it might compete with thier high end ram sales.
