The mercedes E Class has always been a huge part of daimler benz line up. This 2011 e class has proven its worthyness over and over again. many competitors have tried to match the E Class's status and failed. This 2011 E Class has surprised me on our test drive. Its sensational, compitent and its fantastic to drive . The Air ride suspensions makes this 2011 E class very hard to beat. this 201 E class has made me a believer. it's a worthy choice in the sports sedan segment and i would actually buy one. Great review. Good insight regarding MB being famous for their controls in the doors etc. Proven motor. These kill the Autobahn and Alps, easily handles our little freeways or snow.

I have a 2010 E500 on the way, hopefully arriving this week. I've driven a w210 2000 E240 for a while, and it's the car that got me into Mercedes. Like you, I constantly have a smile on my face. The E-Class just delivers joy.
Yea but you didn’t actually put it into sport you just put it in sport suspension you have to click the c/s on the right and on the dash it will tell you c or s which is comfort or sport

You should review and/or try the E350 CDI (3,0 V6 turbo diesel)....Here in Europe there’s a 265 hp and 620 NM torque(460 ft pound) version...An absolutely blast of a car, nearly as fast as the 550 (0-60 mph in 6 seconds or 0-100 kph in 6,2 seconds) with a much better fuel economy and it’s even quieter because of the lower revving engine....And what gear head doesn’t want a powerful diesel car?? A W212 with that engine will be my next car...❤️❤️

Very nice review. I have an 08 CLK550 convertible. I love this motor one of the best out there. I think my next vert will be one like this. The 08 is nice but very dated.

Nothing mechanical. This driveline is rock solid and very long lasting. Just typical minor electrical issues associated with older European cars like these. My biggest issue is being a convertible, mine has automatic roll bars that pop up in the case of rollover. Well, mine pop up about every other week scaring the hell out of you and passengers. VERY annoying. Haven't hooked it up to my MB computer yet, but I'm betting is a fault in the controller and not worth repairing. I can't find any fixes online. Apparently the fix is to sell the car, which is what the previous owner did. It's frustrating, but I do finally own a Benz convertible with this fantastic engine.

Every car has it's issues Prince 🤴. Some more than others. What I will say to you is this. How many E class do you see on the road each day? Many right and Mercedes as a company is still selling more cars than lexus which is the most reliable car company out there so they must be doing something right don't you think?? Prince if you want an E Class go get your car my friend but get a complete inspection done as part of your condition before purchase for some peace of mind ok . 😉😉😉👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾...

I have to disagree with your pricing of $120,000.00 as I ordered my 2011 E550 with both packages plus extras, (fully loaded), at about $77,000.00, ($94,000.00), CDN all in in Halifax, NS. If anyone paid $25,000+ more, I'd be surprised as you can get a stripped down S series for not much more than this, the difference being that the S class caters to rear seat; potentially chauffeured passengers, whereas the E class is a luxury car meant for the owner/driver. I do agree that the E class; mine with 77,000kms now in 2018, is a great luxury car. Cheers.

I loved your review and it's accurate but where did you get the $120,000.00 pricing from? I think you may have dissuaded potential buyers into thinking that the E class is out of potential customer's budgets. I have no affiliation with Mercedes by the way other than owning the car that you've reviewed. I considered an S class until I realized that roughly $50,00.00 was dedicated to rear seat passengers of whom I was never likely to be. The E class has the luxury of the S class but in a drivers car. I have to ask. What did you base the $120,000.00 on? What did it 'represent', as you say? Where did you get that number? Please keep the reviews coming.

Okay but you're reviewing the E550 and not the AMG63 so let me be honest. I have no idea what the AMG63 went for in '11 as I wasn't interested in that model but please be more accurate in your reporting in the future with regards to model pricing. Just saying. Wishing you the best!!

You can get a Bluetec diesel E class with 400 ft/lb of torque for less money.

Is this car expensive to fix?....
Its a Mercedes which means it will cost you more than your tipical car to fix but to get more acurate info you should talk to a tech who works on them.

This show was done 3 years ago but I think its the eco/sport button.
It won’t break the bank until you need a repair.

Lexus has always been the standard for reliability Penn. Mercedes has ranked less than both BMW and audi for reliability according to consumer reports.

How bad of a money pit are we talking here? I'm considering one of these with about 55K miles and I can put aside roughly $2K/yr for maintenance and repairs, but don't want to get stranded and have go deal with issues that dealers can't even diagnose.
