How about Schizophrenia ? Something if the meditation asked the patient to look back what happened to them that time. Even though he or she thought that I am ok now. I'm not angry already. Unfortunately, after that meditation , everything comes back. All the sounds illusion 😢 makes things worst.

@@kimberlygoh791 I think in that case it might be wise to consider talking to a healthcare professional about meditation. It can surface alot of negative feelings which can be very overwhelming. I also find it very difficult that it feels like meditation can make things feel worse than before.

00:00 🔄 Quality over quantity is crucial in the letting go process.
02:30 🧘 Proper letting go involves moving towards emotions, not pushing them away.
04:23 💡 Deep introspection, including following the "trail of whys" and shadow questions, enhances the quality of letting go.
13:31 🛑 Avoid rushing the letting go process; take time for introspection and thorough release.
17:26 🚪 Letting go can entail shedding the persona you've constructed over time, which might not truly represent your authentic self.
18:27 ⚡ Letting go is not a linear process and can bring about significant changes, including disruptions in relationships and personality shifts.
19:54 🚭 Identifying and replacing escape mechanisms with letting go practices can facilitate significant changes, such as overcoming addictions.
20:57 🔄 Embracing change and avoiding regression is crucial in the journey of self-improvement, even when it involves discomfort.
22:25 🚪 Letting go is akin to facing inner demons, which may seem daunting but ultimately leads to freedom from triggers and reactive behaviors.
24:33 🎭 Distinguishing between triggered emotions and real emotions is essential for regaining control and living proactively.
26:35 🌬 Letting go often brings relief, even if it doesn't immediately result in happiness, by allowing one to live authentically and eliminate anxiety stemming from hiding parts of oneself.

For me, letting go was never about getting rid of, but rather to understand why; it’s essentially speaking to your inner child, understand why it’s upset, the feelings it has and is trying to tell you. Then, there’s no resistance

Spent years letting go. You can fail for so long and have one day where you shed so much crap. All you need is the will to never give up, and the courage to test out cutting people and habits keeping you in check.
My mind still fucks with me.
The way i see it right now is like this: Let the fear(whatever emotion) come up
Stay with it and eventually you will recognize where it is generated from within and you switch from eternal fear to exhaustible pain.

    • @brucevanbeek3133

Letting go for years is only dealing with the overflow. When you fully let go in the Now!
You have found the root cause and facing it with your knowledge of today !
Once you find that root cause and face it !
You fully released the emotions attached to that root cause !
You will have an emotional experience once you let go !
Then you know within you scored a let go !

It's because people value politeness over respect as a way to avoid any responsibility for each other. Anything that might make someone uncomfortable is "bad". In other words, don't trouble people with anything that might burden them. If people truly respected each other, this wouldn't be a problem because there would be mutual trust and the satisfaction of helping one another. Even more crazy is that this shallow politeness is mistaken for respect by most people.

Julien, it's funny, I'm reading Letting Go right now (I had the book by the time I saw you recommend it, saying it's your favourite book, which made me pick it up and start reading it) and I wanted to watch your videos on letting go again and then I found out you posted this one yesterday! This video goes into more depth than the book itself and thank you so much for teaching us about shadow questions. These shadow questions are pure GOLD. In your previous video, I didn't know how to tap into the reservoir, but now I do with these shadow questions. I'm going to do stream-of-consciousness writing using these shadow questions and see where all my insecurities lead me. The book has been very valuable and your talks like this one deepen the material WAY further, so thank you so much for putting these out Julien! This video is a hidden gem and adds so much to your previous talks on letting go. I've been posting videos on TH-cam every day and when I see myself, I can see that there's blockage. I can see that I'm not free. You're giving me the tools to slowly break free, and for that I am grateful.

Therapists can be hot garbage. It’s true some therapists need therapy the most. I’ve seen 6 and not a single one helped. One was so self important he only would converse in relation to himself. One used the same one size fits all method to every problem. One would start texting in the middle of the session etc etc. look past the authority and see how full of shit some of them are. If you one a good one god bless, but it takes a long fucking time

  • @matskarlsson7291

This is really crazy: I have been practicing letting go for a couple of days now to release a gigantic trauma I have had for 10 years. The last 2 days I have been noticing that the manifestation of the trauma symptoms (which are partly physical for me) have been exarcerbated (much worse) than before. Before I kinda had them masked and didn't notice them as much, but today I considered quitting "letting go". Exactly the process you're talking about.
You've motivated me to keep going. Diving into that fire to die and be reborn!💥

Good video @Julienhimself! I tried letting go for years and I'm even in TM Academy but I didn't make much progress. I just didn't understand the whole process I guess. Because of your latest video's I now understand it much better! I made so many rookie mistakes! For example, I never really saw the "why" of all the exercises and just jumped right into the meditations trying to get rid of things. But this clarifies a lot. I now understand the why of all the exercises, even the cold shower excercise since you also explained that one in more detail lately. Long story short: keep up the good work by making these kind of videos because there are way to many ways "letting go" can be misinterpreted😮

The life unfolding on the screen which you are is not in your control anyway, first be fully clear about this and come to terms with it, then there is no need to let go what you do not hold!
No will will be done, but it will be what will be, that is surrender, that is letting go.

Knowing that quantity doesn't matter will prevent me from thinking about the future too much. I'll settle about thinking 2 days from now or what I'm gonna do tomorrow.

Hi Julian. I just want to ask you. You were talking about attachment to the positive and resistance of the negative things. I noticed I've got it the other way. I'm somehow attached to the negative things and I built some barrier to not let the positive things affect me. Therefore resistance of the positive. I'm just kind of scared of opening myself to the positive things. I don't know how to work on it. Trying to just accept it somehow? Accept myself, form a good relationship with myself?
I also have anxiety, I'm very perfectionistic and I'm afraid of closeness. Low self esteem. A big topic for me is to trust or not.
    How to work on myself?
    Thank you for your answer.

    • @multimalves
      @multimalves 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Reframe your questions. Ask lots of questions. "I don't know" is a resistance. Try paying attention to how you feel about the question. Don't accept I don't know or Nothing as a answer.
Also maybe that's not the question you need to answer.
Think what you think about yourself. What feelings procrastinating brings up.
My main issue is feeling I'm not competent, I don't trust myself, and I don't really believe when people praise me. I don't believe their judgement but I also don't really believe mine.
Example: many creative works I've done was judged good by people when I thought it was bad or not so good. And works I was proud of was seeing as normal or not that great.
So I have this issue of not knowing how to get valid feedback, and I believe I have a problem with reality check or Idk
I'm making a list of many questions and beliefs I hold. And I'm gonna work through that

Following trail of whys and shadow questions are great when the final why (the real answer) is far from the right answer. What do you do when you hit a dead end following the trail of whys and shadow questions and the final why (the real answer) feels like the right answer. I felt blank because there's nothing to work with.
For example, few days back I was introspecting why do I procastinate like crazy? The final why I found was that when I was a kid, I used to have a motto "Don't work hard, work intelligent!". It felt like an epiphany that I found this memory because it seems like it might be the cause of my procastination. But at the same time, as a kid I effortlessly gained very good skills and so the motto. What would be the next step in my introspection?

    Bro huge fan of yours.
Would love to know what's your aspiration now in Life? Since you've achieved so much and have done almost everything one can imagine. On Maslow's hierarchy, I belived you've done everything.
Would love to know, what are your goals now with life?
(Apart from transforming people's lives, which you'll be doing inevitably I know)

When following the "path of why's" I find it incredibly difficult to distinguish between answers that actually come from the shadow/subconscious and answers that were learned or seem logical from a rational perspective. I have discussed every single subject in depth over the last years and have come up with a 100 theories for every question already so it's incredibly difficult to spot wether I'm just pulling up one of those pre-fabricated answers or wether something truly comes from within when asking myself the why questions...

I've always felt alone and hated it because it left me with my thoughts and flashbacks and anxiety, now I geel them all even when I'm with someone, all my past hurts and mistakes are coming back to bite me,I blocked them out for decades and now they are back and I feel like I'm losing my mind.

I think I'm ugly because one of my earliest memories were from after my younger brother was born and for years people would comment on how beautiful he was and my mum would agree but no one even looked at me,my mum would never say,so is my daughter and as a teen I asked her if I was pretty and she laughed and said well there's nothing wrong with you, you're not deformed

It’s okay sister. It shouldn’t matter what you look like on the outside. What’s important is how you are on the inside.
Accept your emotions and thoughts about being ugly, it’s okay. Feel them. Let these thoughts be there. Don’t fight it.
You are so great and you are loved always. Remember that. Jesus loves you.

How do you know your doing shadow questions correctly ? What i mean is how do I know Im not just saying what I want to hear... I have this weird need to control and understand everything so how do I know Im not doing that to myself and is it even possible or is this just another fear to work on ?

I would suggest doing the thing regardless. "I'm going to the park, if you're free join" also you can ask them about their schedule and see if they're available. Now if they don't have any interest then you should move on.
