REMOVING MY FENDER FLARES - ROTTED FENDERS??

  • In todays video we finally take off the fender flares for those that wanted to see what it looks like!
    This can definetly be a scary thing to do because best case you'll have a wear line and worse case you'll have rotted fenders!
    Honestly the only reason I would recommend taking these off is to clean underneath and reinstall them. Probably better off not risking taking them off at all.

    I give you props for constantly trying things and making your trucks look better. But, I like it better with the flares on. I think color matched would look great.

      I've had my 01 Silverado Z71 since about 2009 and can honestly say it's been the best truck I've ever owned. Other than having to replace the transmission (4L60E) 9 different times, since going with a built 4L65E I have had few issues with it. Still running strong at almost 300k miles too.

    I like the flares un painted, adds contrast and if you ever actually drive off road they don't chip. My Bushwacker flares are unpainted for that reason, I'm constantly on dirt, gravel roads and paint chips bad. And I'm a car painter so I could paint them but left them the flat back.

    I have the same exact same pickup truck as you but 2wd 2 wheel drive and mine is a 2001 and I have a flowmaster FX dual exhaust system on my truck like you have a dual exhaust system on yours but mine sounds a lot better than yours I'm telling you rip your dual exhaust system off of it and get a flowmaster FX dual exhaust. I've had an exhaust system exactly like yours before this I was satisfied with it but I wasn't happy with it I'm absolutely happy with this system. Stock horsepower with my rig 5.3 l V8 285 horsepower Stock after putting the dual exhaust and in my air intake system the truck is cranking 312 HP and 390 ft lb of torque. A definite increase in power my question for you what kind of tires do you have on that pickup. My truck has p 235 75 16s on my truck right now that's what it says to have on the truck on the side of my door. I'm just curious if a two-wheel drive pickup truck and have the same size tires you have on your rig.????

  • @GMCGUY-
    @GMCGUY- ปีที่แล้ว

    Absolutely beautiful 😍 Truck my next pickup truck will be identically like yours a four-wheel drive you have no idea what it's like driving a 2 wheel drive pickup truck in New England ❄️ 🌨️ it's not fun hi to throw 600 lb of weight in the back and I have to have snow tires and my next pick up is definitely going to be a 2006 GMC Sierra 4-wheel drive I won't get anything newer than an 06 Sierra after that I just think GM went downhill after that. And that instrument cluster that you installed on your truck looks absolutely gorgeous

    It might not be a terrible idea to buff and polish the entire truck out before you decide to repaint it. You would be surprised at how much you can get out. Great video by the way, personally I’m about the stance so I think it looks best with the flares off but they definitely do look good with painted flares.

But bro on the repaint idea I think it would be cool to upload a video on color ideas and taking suggestions. Maybe the old original forest green for that generation that GM used to do. Larry is green but still super sick. Also red for that generation just reminds you of the fire department and white just looks contractor status. Anyway man keep up the great work and look forward to the next one 👍

    Living up north in Delaware the fenders rust with or without the fender flares my 2000 silverado rusted and cost way to much to fix so just knocked the loose rust out body filler and put fender flares to hide it done that in 2015 and took them off a month ago to paint the flares in bed liner and so far no rust back or dirt thanks to something I seen on Amazon called fender flare gasket seal
