      I did that too on an earlier fox I had. It's easier to do if you have the bumper cover off.

    Mine is wired just like you showed but I get no output from the alternator. Confirmed my factory yellow is constant 12vdc and the green is 12vdc with the key on. I was convinced the alternator was bad so LMR has replaced it twice now but even the third one still isn't working. I'm at a total loss.

    Nice job man!! I just did this about 2 weeks ago it was super easy! And my alternator was failing anyway I had 11 volts at idle and the car wanted to die now with my 3g I’m sitting at 14.7 with headlights and blower motor on full! But definitely a must do mod for anyone with a fox!

    Do you take off the wiring connector for the original alternator wiring at the solenoid if you use the 4 gauge wire? It’s not shared with anything else at any point is it? Thanks in advance.

    • @Mustang-Geek

    They make brackets to clear the larger alternator, a lot better than cutting and weakening the metal

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the brackets that clear the alternator are just clearanced like this. Reardless, this bracket is plenty strong even after clearancing. Don't over-think it.

    Ok it’s been a year now sinse you do that shotty but connector wiring. Talk about shit coming loose and arcing I’d go back and check those connections I’ll bet their loose if they ain’t your lucky. But I’d go back and resplice them wires there better ways of doing that and won’t come apart either

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hello! A few things: 1) Heat-shrink butt connections are a VERY robust way to make connections. Much better than soldering, as wires tend to crack at the edge of the solder joint. The connections are doing great, but thanks for checking in! 2) It's "butt connector" not "but connector." 3) "Sinse" is misspelled. 4) It's "shoddy", not "shotty." Very different words! 5) The second sentence is a run-on. I'd consider adding a period or exclamation point between "arcing" and "I'd. 6) Add punctuation between "connections" and "I'll." That's another run-on. 7) "those wires" is proper grammar rather than "them wires." 8) Punctuation needed between "wires" and "there." Another run-on. 9) Add punctuation after "either."

  • @Anthony-rv3hr
    @Anthony-rv3hr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You really need to address the wiring a little better.

    • @Mustang-Geek
      @Mustang-Geek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry it's not as clear as it could be. Once you get into it, it's pretty straightforward!
