I really wish they would go back to actual _patterns_ in the aztec marks. Between the TMP and TNG era ships, the pattern was a logical pattern that matched the layout of deck rooms and corridors, but once we got to Voyager and the Sovereign, they just went to random splatters of boxy panels everywhere with no real rhyme or reason. They still looked like they fit the designs, they just didn't have much regularity to them. The worst side effect of that in my opinion though? When Eaglemoss got ahold of the designs, they just slathered the ships in random splatters of blocky prints that didn't even align with the hull plating. The worst I remember was the XL Akira class. The aztec paneling looked like the entire thing had been run over repeatedly with tractor tires.
I subscribed to the whole collection, so stay tuned, I plan to do unboxing videos for each one as they arrive. I also have the two versions of Titan that Eaglemoss did, so I'll have those for comparison.
Looks pretty good. A few of these I'll be interested in but only single purchases. I also really wish they continued the smaller size since that's what I collected from Eaglemoss and these won't really match. I hate that STO's 3D printing ended. I only managed to get 1 of the 3 ships I ordered and if it had continued I would have bought so many more including this.
I don't plan to keep every ship from the Fanhome collection. I don't the space and I'm not interested in every single ship. I only signed up for the sub to ensure I could get Enterprise-F (and for content).
Just got my Titan-A in the mail yesterday. Overall, the quality is a few notches above Eaglemoss. Size wise this standard size is the size of an Eaglemoss XL series. It's about the same size in terms of length as the Eaglemoss XL Enterprise E and D. Paint job is well done, and overall better than Eaglemoss XL. They obviously did not want to do any azteking on the model and used weathering to try to simulate specular highlights at certain angles. Window paint alignment is very good. None were misaligned on mine except for one spot by the impulse engines. The point where the saucer and the neck meet is the most stand out negative on it. I assume in terms of window alignment there will be some variance in the production line, but for mine the alignment is very good, and tons better than Eaglemoss. The ship registry (where Eaglemoss sucked at even on XL) is very well done. Crisp clear, and the stripes around the registry numbers is there and clearly defined. I was very happy to see this. Seem lines are well hidden, with the only standout one at the saucer neck connection. Along the nacelles, secondary hull and saucer all seem lines are pretty well hidden and only show up if you pick it up and put your face right up to it.
Fanhome's standard size is roughly equal to Eaglemoss' midsize range, which originally used for Special Issues, but later became their standard after the released of the Star Trek Discovery collection. The XL's are still bigger, overall, it's just harder to tell with certain models due to the dimensions of different ships.
I agree about the impulse engines could have been plastic, but of course it just comes down to cost effectiveness, and I am sure if they do the XL version of it, it may have the plasic instead of the painted version. In my mind the smaller ones are for the maneuvering and of course extra speed, whereas the larger ones are the ones primarily used, though we saw them all lit in Picatd season 3, maybe it could be a little homage instead to the Enterprise-D just using the impulse engine in the secondary hull alone instead of utilising the ones in the saucer section also. The port and starboard phaser arrays on the saucer tickled me also, it made it lookk a little odd, yes Voyager had similar arrays but they curved more forward, so the phaser banks on the Titan-A are going to have to be powerful with less utilisation of a phaser array for forward facing attacks, but that is just me missing things, especially if the beam banks are locked into forward facing angles and not like a 180 degree one, making torpedoes a heavily relied upon weapon for forward attacks - I think. I am just waiting for the infamous window misalignment issues coming. I wonder if they will be adding the Shangri-La (sorry if it is mispelt) version of the Titan, to make the Titan family so far complete.
I love the Connie III, I can't wait to get this and the Odyssey. But I'll need to wait until Real Merch get them in stock because for whatever reason Fanhome isn't selling directly to Australia.
If they do a 2nd set of ships which Bob Robinson teased could happen, I would love a Shangri-La, but then again there's quite a few I'd like to see... including older ships released my Eaglemoss etc.
There are a few ships I'd love to see in the next round of models (if it happens) and Shangi-la is definitely among them. Really want to see some more of the STO ships too, like Reliant and Sutherland. And more Lower Decks ships, like the Monoveen and Osler.
@@Stu1701 , if the collection is a success, like it looks to be and continues, oh and of course we flood them & Bob Robinson with requests, perhaps we can get our wish for more ships.
It's pretty bad that they're no longer putting the ID stickers at the bottom of the stand . These stands are not uniform, the peg holes for the clear plastic ship-holders are different, and as is, this is just an invitation for the owners of multiple ships to break the slear plastic pegs in wrong bases .
Ouuuff, yeah not a fan of the upsize and the half metal half plastic construction. Bit disappointing. Having said that, I'm hoping to get the F when it goes public to non-subscribers. I like that they've copied the stand base so it matches Eaglemoss ships. Is the Enterprise F only coming in XL size or will it be available in "standard" size as well? Standard looks about Eaglemoss XL size!
I do like the classic Design mixed with new Elements. Taste is defferent for everyone. I dont like the Odyssey at all. But I have a hate for Discovery ^^ My Love is the Galaxy Class.

Im really excited for the XL Odyssey Set! This looks absolutely amazing and gives me more excitement to see the Oddy!!
I know right! Definitely the one I'm most excited for. But there are a few others I'm really eager to see. Most the STO ships lol

I'm going to get the Titan and possibly the Farragut. Going to wait till i see some videos on it.

The glowy blue bits under the saucer were warp field governors if I remember correctly.
At this rate Stu's house will just be a shelf :)

You mentioned about those two things on the bottom/ventral side, they might be Warp Governors

I have no idea if Real Merch will be getting these. Right now, they just have some of the remaining Eaglemoss stock.
I would totally buy one but they do not sell this in my country :(
Same. :(
I hope they get the TOS, TNG, Voyager, DS9, and Enterprise licenses.
I’m waiting on mines
Just had email saying my ship be here December. 😮

The Titan A in universe is Larger than the Enterprise 1701 so they are not to scale. Titan A is more comparable in size to Excelsior class.
Really wish they go back to standard size the new disco scale doesn’t fit
If your willing to part with it i would buy it Fanhome is sold out.
just for once when a company says their models are diecast, it would be nice if the ENTIRE thing was diecast instead of partial...
Sick!
Fans don’t have to be as professional but still appropriate, it’s not a titan or a enterprise
Does it let us relabel to 1701-G?
No. 1701-G is being released as an XL further into the collection.
Only one I would want is the TOS model. Though I have the Eagles Moss one now sitting on my desk. Still a nice review of that subscription service.
Its so sad that only uk gets these amazing ships and the rest of europe not 😢
Connie III is fine.
But it isn't an Enterprise.

Enterprise-F, Enterprise-G, Voyager-A, and Protostar will only be available in XL.

The model's are to expensive for me to buy
The paint job on the impulse engines looks terrible... one of them only looks half painted....
IMO for the money you they ask , there should not be flaws like this.
Very disappointing
Ugh... too grey and too muddy. I'll pass once it's out in Europe. I wouldn't even call this aztec-ing, it's dirt.
I assume the stand is just as rubbish as the Eaglemoss Stand
