Sorry about the minute of muffled audio from 2:35 to 4:20. My mic must've gotten covered and I didn't realize it till I was editing.

    24 x 42 is what I did and wish I had went 24x52 .

Our property abuts conservation land and I was worried if I requested something too large, my permit would’ve gotten denied. So I tried to be conservative. Looking back, I should’ve gone bigger but the lean-to helps make up for it.

I did the same thing with my double steel over head doors .

The residential doors really transform it from what would otherwise look like an industrial building into a nice residential building.

The add ons is what runs the cost up .

Ya definitely. But still much more affordable than the log garage we were originally planning to build. And our vehicles are protected just the same.

I love the looks of the garage. With the verticle paneling it almost looks like "board and batten" siding which ties into the aesthetics of the log home perfectly. (Before you mentioned it was a metal building in a prior video, I thought it was wood.)

Ya. I also thought it looked more like a board and batten barn. My wife hated the idea of a metal garage and wanted to spring for the log but there was no way I was paying 5x the cost. She’s happy now tho.

BTW...IMHO, if you can see inside the lean-to from the street, I'd put a gate so you can't see that valuable tractor from the street to help prevent theft.

@@pcthayer Not a bad idea. I think it would be tough to steal a tractor.. lol. But ya never know. When I was in the city (Boston), I parked my motorcycle in front of the house while I mowed the grass so I didn't ding it with a rock.. and while I was mowing.. someone stole it. It was a big bike too. I can't believe they got it without me catching them.

@@randomstuffwithjoe I can understand her concerns with a metal building and if you didn't do the options of the color matched screws and the dutch corners and the premium doors (plus the color of the building to match the house) it could have looked like an industrial building.

@@randomstuffwithjoe Living in the Boston area too, I can understand the theft concerns and I've had several cars and trucks stolen (as well as a couple unsuccessful tries too)....My sister's car was stolen in downtown Boston also and found in JP stripped (my truck was found in Rozzie stripped.) Thieves were so brazen, I had my car at a Buick dealership getting repaired, they broke into the garage, had to move several cars to get mine, and stole it.
