    I've had people tell me tall tales, i just say oh yes in a neutral way & thereafter avoid them.
    Highly intelligent people can be psychopaths.

    The victim should keep putting the pressure on Simran so that at the very least Simran runs up a huge legal bill. Not to mention the inconvenience and damage to her reputation. Better yet, the victim should have kept it "as a private family matter", as Simran purports it is, and organise for Simran and her family to be paid a visit by some big "friendly" men who just want to "play" and join in the "fun".

    • @culturalresponse2447

      She used to make 500k at her VP job at barklays bank. I don’t think the legal bills will make a dent to her net worth. Kirat on the other hand, may lose a lot of money in this whole process. Kirat’s lawyer fees were already paid by Simran for the civil suit she settled with Simran though.

    I watched the Netflix documentary. I don't get how you get engaged to someone you have never met, has been shot six times, had a stroke, is in the witness protection program, and then appears to be a groomer. She would have gone to visit in the hospital, right? And the catfisher is presumably a bank vice president, and I easily found what appears to be the catfisher's profile on LinkedIn. So, are we, the audience, being catfished?

To sit on it and now, three years later, where we are by this episode, now that she’s in a relationship and about to be married I would wanna destroy her world too! Understandable but you would be wasting even more of your life on them and be consumed by thinking about them. In a twisted way it would provide them even more validation, because they still control you. If you are not naturally inclined to do this kind of thing they will see through you in no time, then play along, letting you think you are playing them but it's actually the other way around...

  • @Mewtopiapak

    I will try to explain this in the words of a friend of mine,” when she was 16 to 21.
    I was a very imaginative person. I created stories about my self since I was younger before the times of social media. I would tell my friends I have a fairy that comes to see me. I created scenarios with my friends about faking who I was when I met random strangers at weddings and enjoyed their reactions. I also enjoyed lying to one my older cousins that a guy who actually liked me liked her and enjoyed her falling in love with him. I enjoyed her being stupid and getting lead on by me to fall in love with him. I mean I got a kick out of it. I have made fake profiles and liked my own pictures. I have created scenarios where I wanted to gain sympathy. I have done all of it to just get a joy out of creating a perception about myself. Lied through my teeth. So that explains why she did it. She went just a little too extreme. Caught up and she needs to own up to what she did.

Like how she didn't understand and how did she fall for it. Grown women but very delulu. But, I guess you really don't know how it feels until person goes thru something like this. Very interesting podcast but I am sorry, I cannot feel sorry for her. Eleanor Roosevelt said that people can only treat you as badly as you let them. When "Bobby" was being mean to her, you use the Block functionality on your phone and apps like Facebook. Its not hard, I have done it many times. I can understand letting someone waste 1 or even 2 years of your life but 8 - where was the internal conversation that said that "this person has wasted X many years of my life, why would I give over any more" when she was clearly getting nothing out of it? Peculiar behaviour on both sides.

    • @jsparkles555
      @jsparkles555 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I think they said on another episode that the initial conversations had been going on for a few years before the relationship had even begun, and it was only during the relationship that Bobby started being mean. I find it hard to understand as well, but I guess if someone has been friendly with you for years, and you have all these other people (which were also fake profiles) telling you how good of a person they are, then it could be easy to fall for it.
