16 gigs of RAM is still too much today... but hell, let's make it useless 32... seriously the only thing we need in RAM is clocks and lowest CL's that's it

I agree, but ppl use pc's differently, some people are demanding and require a beast of a PC and some people do just fine with something as simple as a Chromebook. We never know

16 GB of RAM is nothing if you use LLMs offline. 😅

Thank you for this review, sir! I'm also looking for used but well taken care laptops as prices here in the Philippines are not friendly. I cannot spend too much as I have to provide for our dogs that's why I am leaning towards pre-loved units of the 5 pros. More power to you, sir!

I got my Legion 5 2021 (non-Pro) off Best Buy's Open Box deals. Pretty safe bet and its another option in the arsenal when you're trying to save some cash on a gaming laptop. I got mine for around 900 bucks and as far as I could tell, the thing was brand-new when it arrived.

Nice! The best deal that i got was about a year ago however it was in the local market place not a retail store.i found a Alienware 2070 max q laptop for only $190 (he was asking $300 but i talked the price down) but i think he had stolen it maybe because when i got it there was a windows password and the backround was that of a high school, and there was also what seemed to be a sticker that was scratched off on the top lid. Luckily there was no bios password and computrace was deactivated so it was an easy fix, just threw in a new ssd in there and BAM A high quality laptop for less than $200! I was also able to format the old harddrive so i kept that too lol. It had similar performance to this laptop but a few more bells and whistles due to it being the highest flagship laptop available by dell
I ended up selling that laptop tho for $500 and just kept the money as i dont really care for computer games that much and recently i found another dell laptop but its the rtx 3060 ryzen 5 6600h variant and thats perfect for what i need and it knly cost me $300.the profit i made from selling the alienware pretty much paid for my new laptop so hey not a bad deal! 😂

Hi Sean, missed you posting vids here on youtube. Hope you and wife ok. Ha. yeah.. you know....(with life in 2021).. good information. Picked up a used Acer Nitro 5 but.... keyboard was nasty and dirty... screen scratced but was able to reuse it. Replaced old SSD nvme and now in hands of family.

Open several heaven benchmark windows in parallel is a nice way to look for stability fast and free...
If something is wrong with RAM or VRAM one of the windows should collapse.
Good Laptop regarding performance, but OLED is a kill factor on this things...That one doesn't look like OLED panel is all wash out.

Last year, I scored a great eBay deal on a like new / barely used 2020 Lenovo Legion 5 manufactured right before the series was refreshed. I would've loved to get a 2021 Legion 5 Pro, but, I saved more money going the route I went.
As long as you consider your needs and wants and budget carefully, it's hard to go wrong buying a generously discounted deal on last-gen tech that in most cases, would still perform very well. Anyway, great video and great tips. Of course, experiences vary, but as long as you're careful, it's always good to at least consider buying used. Also, markdown / clearance / open-box deals at stores are worth a look too.

I added links to the description for the black and white versions of the laptop speakers, unless you mean the ones on my desktop PC - those are from Edifier, I did a review of them earlier this year if you want to check it out.

🥴 brain fart! Seen, thanks 👍🏿 I actually was referring to the pebble speakers. How good are they?

    • @TechWithSean

Surprisingly decent for the price, and I really like how they do both power and sound over USB-C. Since the Legion has the ports on the back, it looks clean with no headphone cable plugged into the headphone jack on the side.
