    When you say "you just click here" or "hover here" without having folks know where the heck the cursor is. There is a cursor highlighter that would make this much more valuable- but it's wonderful you spending your own time to help people.

      I concur. Suggest make the cursor appear larger so one can see more easily where it is. Thx

      @@innocentlife2346 You can slow down the speed easily, just click the Settings button at bottom right on the video, select Playback Speed, & slow it down. I'd rather it be faster, to save time...sometimes I speed up or slow down videos to suit me.

    I wish I could change the COLOR of the folders. That way, instead of reading the names on dozens of folders, if there's a few folders I'm using constantly I could just, bam, go right for "purple folder." I mean, think about it...in real life people use color-coded folders all the time (blue for criminal files, red for family law, green for oil and gas rights, regular yellow for most civil files, etc) but with these virtual files, there is ONLY ONE COLOR.

      That's a brilliant idea. Why hasn't anyone programmed that in yet?
      I mean, I can use red folders for 2d flash animation sincevthstnlogo is red, orange for blender 3d, since the blender icon is mostly orange and so on.

      If no keyboard, then click on the Gear icon --> Playback Settings

    I just switched today from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I am using motherboard ASUS ROG Maximus XII HERO (Wi-Fi). I upgraded its BIOS to firmware 2701. I love the context -menu every time I do a right click, specially when Copying / Moving / Pasting / Renaming file. Very handy. I also love the dark themes for the whole Windows GUI. It is relaxing to my eyes.

    I am just starting to watch this because I keep getting notified if I want to upgrade to Windows 11. I just want to know if I have to use Edge or if I can keep using my Chrome browser? That is the main reason I haven't switched yet. I really like Chrome and have so many tabs saved and don't want to lose them. I also wondered if you can switch back and forth between 10 and 11.

      Microsoft wants to force everyone to use Microsoft Edge. You aren't required to use it, but MS is heavy handed with this and will try to change your default web browser to MS Edge.
      A Windows upgrade shouldn't modify your personal files or programs, but its always a smart idea to have a backup. I suggest signing into a Google account to save your bookmarks and saved passwords to your Google account. You can also export bookmarks to a file and keep them in a safe space (like Google Drive or flash drive) and you can then restore them in case your bookmarks get wiped for some reason.
      It is possible to have 2 Windows installations on a computer. This is known as a multi-boot system. I don't really recommend doing this if you aren't tech savvy as it is very easy to accidentally delete the wrong partition and loose all your data. If you really want a multi-boot system, you can probably take your PC to a reputable PC repair shop and ask them to install a second operating system. I believe Windows gives you about 7 - 11 days to downgrade back to the previous Windows install, but I wouldn't count on it.

    The quality of life changes are all great, only thing I don't like so far (probably because I haven't figured it out yet) is how I can't drag my left monitors taskbar to the Right side vertically. And on my Right monitor, drag it to the left vertically as well. I've always had that set up, so the bars are near each other and out of the way because I use to accidentally open hidden taskbar when I played games in windowed mode.

    I have Windows 11 on one of my computers (Windows 10 on the other two). After installing the OS, I turned off as much spyware and bloatware as I deemed safe to avoid crashing the system (I've never had the guts to uninstall Edge, but I do remove it as a startup item), I installed a few programs like DaVinci Resolve that actually run better in Windows, and haven't had occasion to boot into it since (same with the Windows 10 installs).
    I have multiple drives with power buttons for each drive, the Windows drives remain powered down, ready to go, while the drives themselves gather dust.
    My rule of thumb is NEVER to use Windows if the same or better results can be accomplished in Linux. The thought of accessing my bank account via Windows sends chills up my spine.

    I have always avoided updates to be honest. In 1995 when windows to the world was introduced..rolling stones '' START ME UP '' i like many got a computer and bought windows 95.i loved it. and it was so much better with a computer than console game machines in net and game..but in time i got several upgrades in window. no i dont not buy every window along the way, but as 95 went to win 98/xp pro/win 10/now win 11..as i say i avoided updates cause every version i went through had up-dates of course. and 75% of the time i lost many programs like invested games cash wise/and applications and many failures. hardly ever we got any to recover patch wise and such..all from the mighty update, Im just saying its been my experiance...in windows. (kinda puts me like a ''rock in hard place'' ya think ha ha.

    You can bypass the forced "log in with microsoft acct" if you do not have one. Do not feel "forced" by any means to use one or set one up. I've had horrid luck with m.s. accounts and have chosen not to use them. That and it's another data collection measure by microsoft to data collect on people and I think that's a bit intrusive.
    Usually there's just a little learning curve then once you get past that you're fine. I find it funny they are going more and more to a apple visual like look.

      @JJFlores197 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its up to you. I would go for a local user account. The thing is that Microsoft is forcing people onto an online account that provides no real benefit. In a cynical take, its just Microsoft's way of forcing you to do things they want.

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@slimoliveI think the easiest way is to put in a bogus email address and password when it asks you to login with your MS account. After 2 or 3 tries, it will tell you something when wrong and will give you the option to create a local user account. Again, going back to the cynicism, Microsoft is hellbent on forcing people to use an online account so they don't make it easy to create a local user account.

      Hey,I have windows 11,I personally think if you require your Pc for work or editing then you should hold off, from what I have heard windows 11 reduces performance so that may impact you,personally I don’t see any performance drop on my Pc,But if don’t do anything like editing on it,I think for single core performance it’s great but not for multi core as per my experience,and also as per a lot of the information I have heard,i don’t think holding off would cause any harm.

      If your PC is "mission-critical", stick to Windows 10 for some time. It always takes Microsoft some time to sort out the problems.

    I used to download cursors from the Internet onto my PC. I would then open my File Explorer and find the downloaded file in the Downloads section. When I double-clicked it, a special application would launch, allowing me to crop the cursor to the desired size for my Roblox gameplay. However, lately, whenever I attempt to open the cursor file, my printer launches instead and I don't know what caused this change. Is there a way to get back the editing application that I originally had?

    Thanks. Great video. I'm trying to figure out if I can put Apps on the desktop. If I download a program and install, there's an icon on the desktop. But it seems like apps can only be pinned to the taskbar, or as you demonstrated, you can access them from the start menu which is maybe good enough. I'm just used to starting everything from the Desktop.

      I agree...I'm used to that too...and I loved looking at the screen...seeing Microsoft Word - clicking on it - and then opening it. I found out how to do this by accident. But everything you said here,and how easy this young man explained it....WELL...it's PERFECT!
      I'M 74 AND...my old computer had windows 8!! When I bought this computer...I was so lost, but this man has brought new life to my knowledge! I'm so much more comfortable now with Windows 11!!! Thank you buddy!!!
