Bill I was wondering the same thing but then I saw how many people listen and follow Donald Trump don't get me wrong racism has been around and is still around but since this Trump guy came in the picture it's gotten worse and it's ridiculous now
As a Black man born and raised in the south, I have encountered many instances of abject racism. You learn to subconsciously adapt to it. That doesn't mean I accept it, but I won't let it control me or instill fear within me. I will defend myself and my loved ones with deadly force if need be. And I do not believe in turning the other cheek. I'm not inviting violence, but I am not cowering from it either. God bless...
Exactly! I'm a black man from the south and I experienced racism from white American men as a child and i refuse to hate people but I will defend and eradicate at all cost. I dont run and I don't hide and I stand up for what's right.
I was a Black Trucker for years. I'm out of Los Angeles and going through the south took extra preparation to make sure i could get out of areas I entered. There is definitely a different atmosphere, I don't mean in a good way
Went to a Mexican restaurant in Gadsden, Al last month. I think it was Las Brisas, off of Broad Street, close to the theatre down town. I was tired, had traveled from Atlanta Airport and really just wanted to grab a bite and relax at my location. First the nice waitress shows me to a dirty table at the back, while she placed the people that came in after first to the clean table up front. I said I’ll just take a Togo order so she took my order and said I can pay up front. Now I’m back standing where the man at the counter didn’t take my order before the young lady came to assist. After taking care of a customer he goes to walk off. I said excuse me, I would like to pay for my order. He kinda rudely said, I’ll be right with you, not even looking in my face and walked to the back to the kitchen. I didn’t realize at first that I was the only person of color in there, why would I, I just needed a bite to eat. I kindly walked out of the restaurant. I don’t patronize with those that don’t want me to. No harm no foul. Now that’s nice special order I made was on them😌
Is it possible just possible that the person you encountered was extremely tried their self. Or maybe it was that the person was in a mind fogg because of something that had happened to them Or may he was so busy that he would of gotten back to you in a few but that something in the back might have been in jeopardy of burning or catching fire. And maybe it was because you were tried as well that the situation was read all wrong. Maybe we as people jump to the race card to fast because that's all we hear. Maybe just maybe
True it is everywhere. I knew of this black guy who was racists towards his own race. He lived in a white community disowned his black family, married a white woman and only had white friends. He would only go to white owned establishment, and he didn't even go to his own mother's funeral. Now that's crazy But true.
Dude, I just stumbled across this today and I had never seen your channel. But I watched and then subscribed because you had the guts to do this video.

My best friend is 75 years old. He fought in Desert storm and Vietnam. He once said. Of all the places he’s ever been. Arkansas has treated him the worst. I live in Mississippi. Don’t let them fool you about us. Our racism comes from poor people. The wealthy might be racist but they have to hide it cause they own everything. Majority of their business comes from blacks. It’s crazy cause Mississippi is predominantly black. We don’t own nearly what we could own. We’re to busy competing with one another. Meanwhile everything is being bought up by other races.

@@b70414 You've missed the point. Let me get to that. If you make a mistake which one is easier? Taking responsibility for it, or saying, that it was not your fault? Of course many people say the latter and that's where racism and other extremism begins. Blaming others is only the 2nd step.

It is. White children are taught by their parents to hate black people and black children are taught by their parents to hate white people. I teach my children we’re all just people.
I am from Baltimore MD and unfortunately we moved to AL. I absolutely hate it my family hates it and we would do almost anything to leave. I hate that my son has to grow up here (all of us are white). I absolutely loved Baltimore I loved the diversity and yes there were bad things about Baltimore. However the education here in Alabama blows and the way these other children act (based on things my son has told me) as well as things I have seen it just blows my mind. Also the way these men speak (based on what my husband has told me from work) it shows the lack of education the whites here have and how they think black and other races are so different they aren't. The Latino people here work so hard and I haven't had a bad experience but the things these people say about them are just flat out wrong and lies. As I stated we are white and because we aren't from here we get treated differently all the time by businesses by school by jobs the list goes on and on. This video is not a lie. I find it so sad.
And to think that your country's is lecturing other countries about human rights. These are the things that should go worldwide. The United States has no mortal high ground to lecture other countries about human rights
I was born and raised in a small town in Tennessee in 1963. As with most modern- day laws being what they are, those laws were not as stringent back then. Racism was not watered- down or hidden during my upbringing, but as long as you minded your own business and stayed on your side of town, things were tolerable. Now, some 50 years later, the hate has reared its ugly head with a vengence! It's even more widespread and vicious than I remembered as a child! Did anyone besides just me notice an uprising in racial disparities between 2018 and the present? I wonder why?

I live in East Tennessee. And racism is still alive & well. They’re trying to build up the city to appeal to outsiders. But TN is deeply rooted in racism
I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and people believe that Northern states are not racist, but that is so far from the truth. I just found out last week that Minneapolis literally has a law where there are some houses in some neighborhoods that cannot be sold two black families, and even though this is still a law to this day, when a family who is of color, especially a black family, goes to buy a house or wants to buy a house in these prestigious neighborhoods they have to get another form of document to eradicate that law so that the family can buy that house and close on that house. This is a real thing that I was told by Realtor And it is very sad. In addition to that Wisconsin is on another state top 10 list for being extremely racist so it’s like just because slavery did not exist in the north does not by any means equal that people in the north or not races in fact it in a way worse because they do it on the slick in on the sly they have this Minnesota. Nice ““ attitude, but that Minnesota nice is Minnesota fake.😩💯
I moved to Eagan, mn and was trying to buy a house for almost two years and most of the people wouldn’t sell to me even with a realtor. I had one man walk out and void the sell when he saw I was black
@@gasparyanga3415 Wow that is simply incredibly racist!!! 😱 I know you're telling the truth. That is one of the reasons why there is such a gap between white and blacks when it comes to homeownership in MN. 🤦♀
Went to look at a house in Andover, all the people who was outside at the time were white and stared at me and the wife as if were monsters. Needless to say, we didn't buy there.
This video truly confirms why I refuse to live in the south especially AL & MS. My dad ran away from Greenville, AL as a young child because of this. He told me no matter how old you are, he'd still be considered a 'boy'. We were raised in FL and he never looked back. I've visited a salon downtown with my aunt and didn't experience any issues in the area at the time But I wish my relatives would leave there but after living there for so long they are conditioned to the environment...smh. Thank you for this video. I have quite a good amount of relatives throughout AL & this is a major concern. Hopefully this video will convince my nephew to reconsider attending college in Montgomery this year.
I and a girlfriend hitched from Upstate New York to New Orleans in the late 70's. Met all kinds of people, got all kinds of rides. Everyone was wonderful. Especially in Alabama, we stayed a week with some people we met who owned a cafe in Birmingham and kept a marijuana grow on their home property. I'm saying this because I have never in 67 years, seen people so hateful towards each other. I blame trump for the atmosphere of fear and hostility. It's like a disease that's infected the country. He's poison.
I hate to say there is racist everywhere. I’ve lived in Tx, Mich, Ga,, have family in many places and even though most have never experienced it. It’s there.
I have a friend from the Caribbean.. Sadly he and his family were turned away because of their skin color, from a restaurant in Daytona Beach, right there on the main boulevard! I didn’t think that kind of thing existed in a big touristy city like that. Another place where I saw racism was in Marshall, Virginia. A big sign on the outside of a restaurant said “whites only.” I am just appalled to see this kind of thing going on today! I lived in Hawaii during the 50s. Those were the best years of my life because everyone got along. There was no thing like racism there at the time. When I came back to the states in the 60s we drove across the southern part of the country to our new home in Virginia. There were signs of racism throughout the entire trip, a big change from Hawaii. And now it is being used to divide us. Why can’t we leave the past now, learn from it, and move forward. Make it a better country where we all work together to that end? It does not have to be this way today, and we must put a stop to it!
Was this restaurant in a shack down a dead end dirt road in an all white Appalachian hollow? Even then I doubt it would last all that long... Anywhere else a restaurant with a Whites only sign in a restaurant window today would very quickly lead to big trouble for that restaurant, no doubt. It was either some freak looking for trouble which they almost surely found(!), perhaps some kind of stupid prank, or else you are just lying. Yeah this makes me seriously doubt your other statement about the black couple being turned away due to race. It may have been at least partly so to something else, but in some places restaurant discrimination is still a thing. I don't doubt that as I have seen it myself, but I none the less now have very serious reason to doubt the truthfulness of your story!
@@fazbell I don't remember exactly when but it around 2017 when the democrats and republicans could no longer agree on much. I wish I had gotten a picture for proof, but it made all the newspapers around there. Now it's all hushed up. The whole incident lasted about a week.
As a white person living in Los Angeles that was quite an eye-opener. I have never been to the south but always heard about it. Racism is absolutely horrible. No wonder the south has some of the poorest states in the nation. Hate does not generate wealth. The place looks so depressing.

This is absolutely true about Cullman. I have relatives there and have been there multiple times growing up. And some of it is so slight, so insidious, you almost blink and you miss it. Like someone making a big to-do about a Black family moving in closeby, or realizing that you've spent an entire day in town and not run into one POC. I'm white but my mom worries each time we go back that someone will pick up on the fact I'm queer, and we'd run into a whole other level of bigotry then. I'm a Hispanic from TN, and from what I've come to believe is that the modern South isn't so much racist as much as it is tribal, and is suspicious of _all_ outsiders in general. I've had people be racist to me as well in more direct ways, but as long as you carry yourself with humility, compassion, confidence, and stay prayed up, you can disarm most people and put them at ease. I believe the South is still spiritually shell-shocked from the civil rights clashes, the Civil War, and the elimination of the indigenous peoples from here. Becoming the constant butt-end for comedy and prejudice from other parts of the US further reinforces the tribalism as well. The land needs healing, and the cities and people need a lot of prayer.

Yes there is racism everywhere but the south has the worst! The red states have more racism, poverty and violence! Look it up! Where I live in Illinois I do not see hardly any, I live above a black family and there are white ppl on my left side, there are Spanish ppl that live across the street, and we all talk and like each other, I have NEVER experienced racism until I moved to Arkansas (a red state) and I would constantly hear them use the N word and say they would never let any black people live in our city! I couldn't live there and was ashamed of being white! I was not raised like that! I was taught that there is good and bad in every color and to respect everyone!
There is obviously a strong correlation among abject racism, ignorance/lack of education, cultural traditions/influences, and inner insecurities. But when it comes to racism and poverty, I’m not sure which precedes the other. They obviously feed on each other, but which is the fuel and which is the spark of the vicious circle?
Thank you for sharing your experiences in the south. As a female in Construction, I face the racism in the form of mysogeny. I grew up on Tampa, Fl and was subjected to the discrimination in a more subtle fashion. I was always given busy work and passed over for opportunities. I soon learned to create my own opportunities and the guys felt entitled to steel them from me. That caused lots of conflicts. I relocated to Atl Ga for a job opportunity and found that Georgia also had the discrimination against women engineers and in Construction and didn’t even feel the need to hide it. They are in- your - face nasty! And not everyone feels that way however, the mysogenist get control over the others and force them to also be nasty to me or they will get repercussions. I have developed a habit that I will not engage with anyone that cannot speak to me in a professional manner. I get my work done but I will not let them disturb my peace. Its not easy but I like where I live in the mountains.

I've never understood racism... People are people to me. Where I live in Mississippi, as a white woman, men of all ages and races go out of their way to hold the door open for me. One of the sweetest things I've ever seen was an old white man with a cane who had a store door partly opened to go in when a young black guy was coming out. The old guy motioned for the young guy to come out first while the young guy was motioning for the old guy to come in first while he held the door. I kid you not... they went back and forth 4 or 5 times, each one motioning and smiling for the other one to go first. The young guy finally convinced the old guy to come in while he held the door for him.

Same thing we had a private house and a mob related gang was going to throw Molotov cocktails in our windows because they wanted us out the neighborhood as they wanted to burn tenement buildings across the street for insurance . This was the 70s in many parts of the Bronx and other places in NY we moved regardless of my parents buying that home . I’m here in Ga stood my ground . You can’t keep running away from hate . I’m bi racial and Love everyone . I avoid people that’s not intelligent . I feel Since 2016 the Hate has had a really big comeback around the country it’s awful . Love to you and yours and everyone that supports you .
Thanks. I feel better In Florida the hate In Alabama was too much for me. I am hispanic but i love black people and being In Alabama was slowly wearing that away.
I wonder if Trump's daddy was involved in some of that ? Fred Trump was a big slumlord & he was into the " whitening" up of NYC / NJ as was his Sonnie...

I lived in many cities but one of the most racist cities that use to be friendly, is Seattle WA. It has got to be the weirdest, most hateful and violent cities, in the country! Over the past 3 years it has become more racist than Atlanta, L. A. and Memphis, put together!
I always wanted to go visit Seattle. I attend Golden Gate University online and they have a satellite campus up there (the others are San Francisco and San Jose). This is sad to hear.
@@Quibblet It's also a very odd, and weird place! People here hardly ever speak to one another unless they have something negative or aggressively nasty to say! This includes all races and cultures here! The 2 or 3% Blacks that are from the USA and live in Seattle are mostly standoffish, as well! These drugs may have something to do with a lot of it but not totally and it also has one of the highest populations homelessness in the nation. San-Francisco, has a high population of homeless also but at least they have SAVVY! You'd have to see it (Seattle) to believe it! I can't wait to get hell🔥👿out, of this 😇"SANCTUARY-CITY!"💯
Blacks from the south are totally different from the black people up north. When I first move to Alabama I had black people look at me like I was from outta space or something. If you don't agree to what they say you was no longer their friend. Some of the black people from the south still has that slave mentality that would get me angry about them. I didn't fit in to be apart of the culture in Birmingham Alabama. I was born and raise in new Jersey I was never use to the black culture in the south vs living in the northeast we did things totally different. This is coming out of the mouth from a black man. This is why I no longer live in the state of Alabama.
Im from florida. Back in 2012 my mom knew a guy that had moved from AL to FL and shs said he said that the blacks in AL still have a slave mindset it was so bad he said he had to leave and get out of there
@@berryburst2608 that depends on what states in the south you're talking about. Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas people might be more insular in those states. Don't get me wrong but some of the northern states can be like that also but not as bad as the south....
My experience was totally different. I'm white and grew up in Los Angeles. The blacks hated me and called me names all the time. The Latino's were for the most part pretty cool. I married my Latina neighbor. I literally had to fight all the time, not my choice but one time I had to fight for my life and the life of my family. I sadly had to take a life. I moved to Arkansas and worked a lot in construction in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. Everyone was pretty cool and we had every ethnic group working together. We would visit each other after work and drink beers together. They became like family. To this day, If I walk through a neighborhood like Knickerson Gardens or a city like Compton, I'm gonna be on the news and you'll be reading my obituary. I can guarantee the Pork & Bean neighborhood in Florida would never welcome me.
Was attacked by 5or6,(don’t know if the last guy got in on it or not),in Boley Oklahoma, just because I’m white. But I will always remember the person throwing them off me was black. And like he said I started down the road of racism. But when I’m in most depressed time of my life I found God was real and He took all hatred away and now I’m married to a woman of color.

Now it's broadcasted on the news, social media etc. I don't think it'll ever go away either and yes I'm African American. My husband was in Birmingham Alabama years ago on business. He said he was ignored in a restaurant. He was the only white guy there. It was a very uncomfortable experience for him. Couldn't imagine going through that on a daily basis
@Tony Malveaux actually it could well have been because of prejudice against him for being white. I won't go into the conflict over differences in definition of racism but there are definitely some places where being the only (or one of few) white person around will be bad news.
@Tony Malveaux trust me I know this from personal experience and what I've seen with others! I don't wallow in it and others have it worse but it's part of reality for many.
I remember listening to an audio tape of an African American elderly man. It was taped after Jim Crow and things weren integrated. The interviewer asked him if things were better and his answer shocked me. He actually said that he was happier under Jim Crow because he was always with his own people and never encountered racism. I think there is a lot of truth in that statement for every race. All you have to do it look at the ethnic breakdown map of any large city in America and it is obviously people prefer to be around others that look like them, have the same culture, lifestyle etc. Does that make us racist? I don't think so.
It all comes down to how you were raised and you environment. I personally prefer to be around a mix of people. I don't like it when there are too many of any certain heritage. What you'll notice is when there is a mix people behave better. At the end of the day people are people and I have friends and family of all shades.
Yup, Forsyth/cumming Ga. It has dark history towards blacks. But, even other southern Georgia towns like Leesburg/Lee County Georgia. Places are racist. There are more though.
After watching this video I just want to offer up a smile and a hug to everyone watching this video. 😊 Unfortunately this list is needed and was well made and the way it was put forth was as excellent as could be with the subjects it covers.

I was told as a white woman with biracial children not to ever visit Mississippi or Alabama because they are very very against a biracial relationship on both sides I was shocked I don't know how true it is but I would never put my family in danger bc people don't love like I do it's unfortunate that today people still hate

My mom and dad raised us that we are all human beings no matter what color you are. Why can't we all just get along , I'll never understand this and I'm old.
I’m a fair complexion Hispanic and have this thick country accent. We were passing by Mississippi heading to Florida. I was traveling with my ex-wife, sister-in-law and other friends that are white, any way we stopped at a store to fuel up and buy some snacks. The lady and gentlemen at the counter were super friendly we were talking it up while my friend was pumping gas. When a Mexican guy walked in looking for the restroom and I spoke Spanish and told him where it was. OMG😂 you should have seen the way their facial expressions changed in a instant. At that moment the friendly banter was over and the short cut communication started. When my friend came in and the rest of the people in my group was ready to pay the lady at the counter wouldn’t talk to me she just talked to my ex wife. I didn’t care, I didn’t feel bad or didn’t feel anything at all. My ex and the rest of the in-laws and friends were extremely apologetic after that. But I was like hey just stop apologizing for something that y’all didn’t do. 😂unless y’all feel the same way then my brown ass is in big trouble😂. It was just dumb how ignorant some people are. That way as my very first experience with racism.
I experience this kind of hate from other blacks as well. It's so sad we still have to go through this in 2023. Keep making these videos people must be informed. 😊
I know my experience is anecdotal, but it correlates with yours perfectly. I am from the south, have lived here for over 36 years, and have never met more hate-filled and prejudiced people than I have from Alabama. My own state isn't much better though. I always feel like I have to add a disclaimer that obviously, not ALL southerners are racist or bigoted, but it's alarming how much worse it is in the south compared to other areas of the US. But of course racism comes in all forms and does exist everywhere, no question about it. I happen to live in a very busy southern tourist town that gets visitors from all the surrounding states (over 12 million per year), and it has always shocked me how frequently people from Alabama will proudly tell you their blatantly racist beliefs as if it's something to brag about. It almost feels like it's so ingrained in their identity that they have no concept of right and wrong, or worse, they fully understand and don't care. Have I met nice people from there as well? Yes, definitely. But that is far less common than it should be. I've noticed in my lifetime that the very people that will tell you to "get out of the south if you don't like it" at the mere suggestion that there's a problem with racism, are the exact same people that will spout some of the most horrendous things imaginable. No surprise there I guess.
All I live in floribama I have a biracial grandson and I've never dealt with any form of racism however when I lived in the Bay Area and I was married to a Mexican man I received a lot sounds like to me you're hanging out with white trash
Their hate is the same as worship unbeknownst to the hater. When you spend so much time and energy focusing on someone or something, they or it becomes an unseparable part of you.
I’m from Southern California and haven’t experienced serious racism so thanks for the insight and in depth look on what’s going on in the other side of the country!
Sundown towns were actually more common in the Midwest than most of the south and probably still are that way. I still won't move to the deep south but the Carolinas are nice.
Mannnnn don't let that fool. I been in Cali for 2 years norcal to be exact and have stories from my experience and from what others told they experience out in cali trust me the same stuff going on in regions is the same stuf in cali no difference at all
I never understood why or how you can hate someone so much that has never done anything to you. It makes no since to me how you can judge someone off of skin color. It’s like judging someone because they have red hair, black hair, blond hair, brown hair, or green hair. It just does not make any since to me. My Mom has never raised me to see skin color every one is the same. If I don’t like someone it’s because they have done something directly to me. Human kind to me is the worst invention to to the world.
Im going through stuff now. The stalking and the swatting done to me. My neighbor would sit in his truck and watch me then come sit behind my home at night.. Now he has some of his friends doing his bidding. I was being followed. If they want me to move all they have to do is make me a good offer on the home. I had a lady tell me I should not go out after dark. This is in Alabama and im not sure where the southern hospitality is. His wife came and asked me if I was related to the previous owners, how did I pay for the home what bank did I use. A lot of the blks live about 2 min away.
This may be a dumb ?, but if a person is racist and needs an organ or blood transfusion do they ask who it came from to decide if they want to continue living or not . Do you only bank at a certain bank. I dont get how you hate somebody who never uttered a word never made any bad gestures to a person. I wish I could load up the video of the assault rifles shooting behind my home That went on at night. Some of the things happening now in the U S some are doing it like its a sport .Who wants to be sported and hunted like an animal.
We drove in a big school van to a class trip in the Okeefenokee Swamp in far southern Georgia near Florida. We were the only ones there in very early spring at the campsite waiting to start the day and two guys come up to tell us about what rentals and activities they had. They stopped short and looked at the town and northern state on the van and said "Oh you're from ___" You dont got any of those dark people here with you do you?" My friend changed the subject and tried to ask questions about the visitors center.
Great video Nino, I'm a a afro Latina from Chicago and believe me a lot of that happens here an I have to admit it takes its toll an you find yourself reacting in kind but I try to take a step back and remind myself how bad it hurts to receive such hatred and correct my attitude and be who I was raised to be and the values I was taught so thanks for the reminder to not own anyone else's trauma, drama or bitterness
I grew up in Alabama and I can verify that your research is valid. I will say that many northern blacks have moved to Alabama because racism no longer has the support of the majority of the public. Most southerners are ashamed of the south's racist past.
In Alabama both whites and blacks came after me to RUN ME OUT or ROB me since I am Hispanic. I was in a horrible region. The few good people are still afraid to speak up, or not fallow old rules since too many are still racist and in charge.
@Tony Malveaux I AM WHITE, I am a southerner. I can verify that there are many of us who are ashamed of the past. I was between one and eleven years old while most of this was going on. Children do not vote. Kids don't lead crusades. Quit blaming all white people. Most of us were not born when these bad decisions were made.
@Tony Malveaux plenty of white Southerners today are ashamed of southern racism both past and present, but they may also simultaneously resent prejudice against THEM. While open race based hate may be higher in the South today, The north actually has the nations biggest racial disparities in policing and incarceration, income and wealth, home ownership and residential segregation.
@@jKLa excuse me, where did you learn that from? There is more racism, poverty and violence in the south, and segregation! There is, unfortunately, racism everywhere but the south love to segregate the ppl, I live in Illinois and I my city we all live next to each other, as long as you respect me I will respect you, it doesn't matter what color your skin is! I lived in Arkansas for 6 months and couldn't take it anymore because I heard people using the N word all the time and they would say they wouldn't allow any black people to move into their city, I was ashamed to be white and moved back to Illinois!
@@martasplace6414 what your saying here may be true in some ways, depending on the type of segregation and where in the South you are referring too. But everything I wrote was also true, that residential segregation and racial disparities in policing and incarceration rates, as well as incomes, poverty, various social issues, are all significantly worse in the North as a whole then in the South. Some other forms of racial division and racism are indeed worse in the South however so it depends on the issue and they all vary widely in both Sorth and South by location. These trends are thus broadly true geographicly but certainly not everywhere (I specifically mentioned them not being universal trends) but on the whole these are issues are worse in the North based on all the official statistics and large studies of these issues. Those are facts and if you think otherwise that is because you are misinformed on these issues. Political divisions and some forms of racial hostility, hate crimes etc are worse in the South on the whole however. Black white Interracial marriage is now common throughout the country but is also lower in the south then in the north so again it depends on the issue.

Back in 2009 my family was road tripping from California to North Carolina. Along the way we stopped somewhere in Alabama for gas (not sure the exact town). It was weird and a very uncomfortable situation.
Racism is born out of ignorance and intolerance. I lived in NYC when I was a kid. I am Jewish and when I moved down here to Atlanta I was shocked when I went into a store in Kennesaw and saw so much Nazi symbols, Klannsman costumes and all out hatred of other people. I walked out of that place and wanted to throw up right there. Yet people were buying from him.

I'm not adapting to anything. This is why I prefer Voodoo because I'm tired of them.

And high drug rates. Sad because its pretty mountainous areas and awesome people
Memphis is racist too
Amazing video!!!! Thank you for doing this. I will definitely stay clear if these places.

This video truly confirms why I refuse to live in the south especially AL & MS. My dad ran away from Greenville, AL as a young child because of this. He told me no matter how old you are, he'd still be considered a 'boy'. We were raised in FL and he never looked back.
I've visited a salon downtown with my aunt and didn't experience any issues in the area at the time
But I wish my relatives would leave there but after living there for so long they are conditioned to the environment...smh.
Thank you for this video. I have quite a good amount of relatives throughout AL & this is a major concern.
Hopefully this video will convince my nephew to reconsider attending college in Montgomery this year.
Montgomery is hell
I and a girlfriend hitched from
Upstate New York to New Orleans in the late 70's.
It’s there.
I would live anywhere else what they saying is over Exaggerated there's more gracious i'm up north Then there is Down south
Hate in they heart
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Where? No hate in my heart, only sadness. Sadness to see it being used to divide us. God will take care of the rest.
What YEAR was the "whites only" sign seen in Marshall, Virginia? I do not believe it could have been past 1965.
I'm sorry you had those experiences. Thank you for highlighting and sharing your thoughts.

As a European it is really interesting to hear these real life cases of racism. Of course there is racism in Europe but the US (specifically the South) really has its own special brand.

You do know that racism is taught and not learned. Racism doesn't not have monetary lines.

Thank you for sharing your experiences in the south. As a female in Construction, I face the racism in the form of mysogeny. I've never understood racism... People are people to me. Where I live in Mississippi, as a white woman, men of all ages and races go out of their way to hold the door open for me.

This includes all races and cultures here! The 2 or 3% Blacks that are from the USA and live in Seattle are mostly standoffish, as well! These drugs may have something to do with a lot of it but not totally and it also has one of the highest populations homelessness in the nation. I so agree being from Memphis and living in many states and cities Seattle was my worst experience of racism
You know what i mean! I grew up around blacks in Kentucky and they were normal… got along well. These Alabama people are missing half a brain.
Im from florida. Back in 2012 my mom knew a guy that had moved from AL to FL and shs said he said that the blacks in AL still have a slave mindset it was so bad he said he had to leave and get out of there
South is more insular. The beauty of America is everyone is free to live in whatever type of environment they want
@@berryburst2608 that depends on what states in the south you're talking about. Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas people might be more insular in those states. Don't get me wrong but some of the northern states can be like that also but not as bad as the south....
Most blacks in the south don't know that they're free.

Yes Racism goes across all races. Nobody no matter what race they should'nt be treated that way...
Lol
@Tony Malveaux actually it could well have been because of prejudice against him for being white. I won't go into the conflict over differences in definition of racism but there are definitely some places where being the only (or one of few) white person around will be bad news.
@Tony Malveaux trust me I know this from personal experience and what I've seen with others! I don't wallow in it and others have it worse but it's part of reality for many.
Awesome video. I feel this type of content is needed to reach the Bowels of these types of communities. Again, awesome video man.
Im black, I agree 👍
So bring back segregation?
It all comes down to how you were raised and you environment. I personally prefer to be around a mix of people. I don't like it when there are too many of any certain heritage. What you'll notice is when there is a mix people behave better. At the end of the day people are people and I have friends and family of all shades.

You know exactly what the issue is here! Thanks for your contribution in comment.
You said it all!

I been in Cali for 2 years norcal to be exact and have stories from my experience and from what others told they experience out in cali trust me the same stuff going on in regions is the same stuf in cali no difference at all
Just cali try to cover theirs up and that's the worse part it fool people into something it's really not
I never understood why or how you can hate someone so much that has never done anything to you.
Because they are IGNORANT!!!

This exists here in cities in Colorado in Denver, Central Park and Aurora to name a few.
