Duke Marketing was founded in 1981 and is based in the Isle of Man, an independent British Crown Dependency Island located between the UK and Ireland. The company employs 50 people (more at peak periods) and publishes sport and special interest DVDs, with motorsport as the core activity, including official reviews of leading international championships and events, such as MotoGP, the World Rally Championship and the Le Mans 24-hours. The company has strong motorsport ties, particularly with the Isle of Man TT races. Not only is founder Peter Duke's father Geoff Duke OBE -- winner of six TTs and motorcycle World Champion six times -- but Duke has produced VHS and DVD reviews of the TT throughout the company's history.
Having started trading as a mail order company, Duke evolved during the 1990s into a video publisher with extensive distribution, including HMV and retail presence in 400 Halfords stores throughout the UK.
In 2007, Duke acquired stock and intellectual assets from UK counterpart Green Umbrella Sport & Leisure. This move massively increased Duke's range of titles, and saw the company move into new areas, including Rugby, Cricket, Golf, Fishing, Steam Railways, Football and more.
Duke's distribution network and online presence continues to expand, and mail order remains important to the company with over 150,000 direct customers.
In 2009 the company has produced five catalogues -- covering Powersports, Railways, Cricket, Golf & Fishing -- and more than 350,000 copies will be distributed worldwide.
With over 3000 titles published on DVD, VHS and Blu-ray, Duke products are sold under licence in over 25 countries, via an extensive network of licensees ranging from leading publishers in Italy, a franchisee in the USA, associations with television companies in France, New Zealand and Australia, and developing distribution projects in some of the major emerging markets in the Far East. I live in Kenya and have quite a good stash of Duke videos and DVDs sourced either directly from Duke or through friends in the UK. The DVD quality is awesome and I keep building my collection. Regrettably, some time in 2007,Burglers broke into my house, tied up the househelp and carted away my erstwhile collection of Duke Videos. Over the past several years I have replaced all the stolen titles and added many many more. Keep the good work but in the future, especially for rallying titles, ensure you also cover the other crews and not just the WRC title contenders. On our War movie collection, I have over the years been looking forward to the day you produce a comprehensive DVD on the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

I love Duke videos since the early 90's, when I discover the company here in Brazil, in a old magazine that had a little special with Speedbox, a small Brazilian company which sold Duke products at that time. I hope Duke can release 4 remasters box sets of the extended official highlights from F1 races to 1984 to 1987 (2 races by DVD will be a nice feat, since each highlight is 1 hour approximately). That series were incredible in VHS and it needed a DVD version. I also hope that Duke will re-released the long DVDs from 2000 and 2001 F1 Seasons (that versions with alternate camera angles, on boards special, etc) and a box with all the F3000 Reviews, from 1985 to 1992 (maybe with 1982 F2 Season as a bonus). Another one, great, long forgotten VHS is the classic Spills & Thrills, with F1 crashes and incidents from 1980 to 1983. Long live Duke videos!!

@@dukevideo yeah! I already bough this one. These were the originals reviews from the 80's, remastered in DVD format (very good remastering, by the way). The ones that I saying are the extended highlights, which came with 1 race by VHS in the 80's. They were released between 1984 and 1987. These ones here: www.dukevideo.com/prd3447/F1-1986-USA-GP-VHS or www.dukevideo.com/prd3467/F1-1987-French-GP-VHS or www.dukevideo.com/prd3402/F1-1984-South-African-GP-VHS. These ones could be a very cool new box set (with 2 races by DVD, like I said before), with those 4 Seasons with almost full races. I still have a dozen from these old original extended Highlights VHS.

I love duke videos especially the MX 500 GP of the 80s. Does anyone know if there is a difference in video quality when comparing a SD download to a DVD? I have bought several downloads from duke but never a dvd because they are more expensive, is it worth paying the extra cash for a DVD?.
