  • This is Isle of Speed, the story of the 1952 Senior TT in the Isle of Man, bringing you all the action from the world-famous Mountain Circuit as the battle unfolds.

The stars are greats like World Champion Geoff Duke on the Manx 'Featherbed' Norton, the legendary Les Graham on the mighty 4-cylinder MV Agusta and several other factory team riders on Matchless, BSA, Velocette and more, all in glorious close-up and with roaring sound. Extraordinary early on-board and slow motion camera work give a unique view of a golden period in TT history.
This is a rare glimpse of a bygone era when the TT was the premier event in the World Motorcycle Racing Championships. The rare archive film gives you a great chance to see these stars of the Fifties on and away from the track - complete with a very colourful commentary.
Isle of Speed also offers a quaint, and at times comical, profile of the Isle of Man of the 1950s, with its strong farming and fishing industries. But as the name implies, this film is about the racing and gives an amazing taste of the 'toughest, most exacting test of its kind in the world'.

Just found out my elderly neighbour Harold, who lives in the house behind me, raced the TT in 50’s and 60’s, before moving on to running his own race team and spannering in early BSB in the 70’s. He could only average about 90mph so gave up….he must have had balls the size of bowling balls to do this at that time….The guy even made his own drum brakes for his Norton….different breed!

He sounds a bit like Burt Munroe! Maybe somebody can make a film if him as well!

I am only young at 22 years of age but spend a lot of time learning of this era of racing, truly my favourite times, the 1950's and 1960's eras of racing were full of incredible advancements and riders who really were out for having fun with none of this PR nonsense

Had a weeks leave and went with a friend on our Nortons, Model 18 and Model 7 twin. Never forget the first sighting and sound of Les Graham on the MV 4. Great pity those Earles forks led to his death in 1953
