Glad to see the .40 S&W getting some Love.
Gettin it done.😎👊
I recently put my pride aside and decided to finally stop hating glock and got the 27.. best decision I ever made owning firearms
@@Gbody_Klown I bought my wife a Glock 27 as her first anniversary present. Still have it 14 years later. Great gun. Powerhouse in a small package.
@@Gbody_Klown
I added a +2 base plate to mine and now it feels like a G23 but without the increased size.
No kidding! The .40S&W has a lot going for it!
🇺🇸
😎👊
That's really impressive. 15 inches and .75 expansion with 450 efp.
Yeah, can't complain with that.
A velocity of 1200 fps with a light 140 gr bullet doesn't impress me. To many compromises with copper HP rounds, I only use lead HP bullets.
Copper beegot 😅@@kennethferguson4283
What is compromised by your opinion? @@kennethferguson4283
165 grain & 155 grain 40 S&W isn't messing around.. I like when people hate on it too because it makes ammo easier & cheaper to find
Roger that. I currently have 155gr Silver Tip ammo loaded up in my ole Gen 3 Glock 23.
@@shadowwolf9503I’m about to grab some Winchester Silver Tips myself
From all the testing I've seen, .40 just seems to be pretty damn reliable in performance across a lot of ammo types.
Damn, that's some serious flower power.. I'll be adding those to my ammo list for sure
💥🌻💥
Looks like I'm going to have to try a box. I bet they'd work great on deer. Killed my biggest buck with 155 grain, 1300 fps, 582 ft lbs of energy. XTP bullet from Underwood.
Atomic makes a spicy 40 meatball too. 155 grain, 1325 fps, 602 ft lbs of energy. Gold dot bullet. Underwood makes good hard cast or woods carry rounds too. 200 grain at 1000 fps. I know those are good black bear medicine. I'm not a 9mm fan but their hard cast in 9mm has stopped 1 black bear that I know of. I won't carry smaller than 40. Don't care what the majority is doing. When is the majority right? 40 isn't even talked about anymore, even though it's always beat 9mm and 45 acp ballistics. And hard barriers.
I appreciate this channel still reviewing the best carry cartridge 😁.
Shooting my M&P Shield 2.0 in 40 cal at the range today, I still can't understand why more people don't go back to it or at least work it into their EDC routine. For the average shooter, it's just as easy to shoot as 9mm after just a session or two of practice, but the ballistics are just flat out superior. If I'm carrying anything bigger than a pocket pistol, I want it in 40 S&W, myself.
Jelly time is my favorite time!! Another great test!!
Appreciate that, brother!😎👊
After I saw your 9mm urban response vid I was sold on Cor Bon. I’m gonna add some soon to my ammo fort.
That's impressive, that's the same ammo we keep in our HD .357 magnum 3” GP100. Pretty sure we'll get good expansion out of a 3" barrel.
Not too shabby.😎👍
Fearsome performance CorBon is known for.
I just got myself several boxes of their 125gr+P 9mm JHPs, to complement my usual Federal Punch carry rounds.
Both of those choices thanks to this channel of course 🎉
Nice.😎👊
Where's the best place to find/purchase these more exotic rounds?
I’ve found Velocity Ammunition Sales has a great lineup of CORBON and it’s growing weekly. They have great prices and 2 day shipping.
Man those smacked that block! .40 has always impressed me. Great video.
Thank you sir.😎👊
The 40 is only impressive if you have no knowledge of the 10mm lol
Or, if you don't acknowledge good tested 4o, @@M4A3
@@M4A3 - I am well aware of the 10mm (and the often sadly not-at-all full-house loads that one usually finds these days). I have always thought full-house 10mm to one of the best big-bore loads for just about everything. However, when toting a gun concealed in semi-tropical coastal Alabama under a light t-shirt size and weight become a factor. So, for less power but still "good" power, I like the .40 Plus, when I retired my old dept gave me tons of .40 ammo and I already have several .40s including 2 small Kahr pistols.
@CeltKnight it was meant as humor. Ive had a few .40's, but usually change mine over to .357 SIG
Im always excited to see dpx loads. it's a Very under rated bullet imho.
Did a nice job.😎👊
Your range is like mine in a thousand years they're going to think the biggest lopsided gun fight happened in the mountains of Virginia and northeast Georgia.
🤣🤣🤣 I feel sorry for anyone trying to metal detect here in the future.
Hard to beat 40S&W when you have a good round
Excellent video 📹! I carried a Glock 22 as my duty weapon. My wife carries the Glock 23.
3:04 😂😂😂😂😂😂 me too!!!!! 3:22
Another well done performance by you and CorBon
Another excellent video from the best (IMHO) ballistic-testers on TH-cam. 👍
Appreciate that, brother!😎👊
I'm with you. Man, would I love to see a strong, +P variant of this exact round! I'm used to the old Corbon 135 gr. JHP @ 1300+ fps. out of my Glock 23. Thankfully, I still have some that's about 25-years old in an ammo can. Still fires 100%. That kind of power behind these modern projectiles would be spectacular.
Tools! Here in Vegas I just picked up 10 boxes of Federal HST 165 grain Hollows, $23.99 per box of 50 at Sportsman’s. I thought that was a steal. Nice video as always bro.
Thank you sir.😎👊
Yes....I would like to see the DPX in 9mm tested. Thanks for your testing video. I hope the 9mm preforms, just as well as the 40. 😊
🇦🇺😎👍Good morning Sir , happy Saturday …brother I love the frame splitters as well 🏁…wow , great copper ear studs 🏁great expansion 🏁great products yeah🏁
I might need to start making jewelry.💥😎👊💥
@@ToolsandTargets 🇦🇺😎👍🏁🇺🇸Tools & Jewellery
I have always loved corbon ammo , i carried 165gn +p 45acp for years
I have a couple more good ones from them coming this weekend.
Excellent short barrel performance!
IMHO the G27 is the ultimate conceal carry weapon
I have only owned 1 40 s&w and it is a sd40ve and I changed the trigger but except for that it is a great edc
Cor Bon makes some really good stuff. Used a variety of styles and calibers and never been disappointed with their performance. Rifle and handgun.
This round is a winner in my book 📖
Great video. That’s definitely a winner! I still haven’t gotten around to testing out the Gen 4 G23C. I originally bought it just to have one since there don’t seem to be many anymore. But it could end up being one to add to the edc rotation. It’s so tiny compared to the G20 I usually carry. Not LCP Max small, but still a big difference.
Thank you sir.😎👊
Ive tested these rounds as well and played with what they would do with lots of layers of denim and I think I was able to get through 8 layers and it still expanded with no issues whatsoever absolutely amazing rounds ..
I don’t know if the Barnes TAC-XPD can keep up with that velocity but it performs very similar. Another great test!
I have some 40 from Underwood. They use a 135 grain bullet loaded to 1400 fps.
That hollow point, the word "cavernous" comes to mind.
Practical, concrete info as always! Keep it up! ❤
Good test good results thanks Tools and God Bless.
lol I thought I commented yesterday. I must have not hit the button before I moved on. Anyway, about the round. A .40 cal round I don't hate, inconceivable! If I still had a .40, I would definitely consider this round, nice penetration/expansion. Thanks for the review!
These are great. They make a 45 acp +P version too. My first experience with Corbon DPX was testing them in a 380 acp and 38 special. Same great expansion. I only with they would coat the bullets like Barnes does and use a nickel plated case.
Thank you sir 🇺🇲 that stuff is spicy 🔥my carry is glock 23. It doesnt bother me what people say i love it 😎🇺🇲
This was a great test. I’ve done a test with similar supervel 115 +p+ on thick bone and it looked like a fmj. Copper is nice until it doesn’t expand, at least it always gets penetration though
I just picked up a TISAS 1911 A1 US ARMY 45 from my FFL! What a beautiful piece for less than 400$! What a steal man!
What would it take to get it to match grade? Maybe not much? I shot a Colt GCM for small arms quals for the Nav Reserve. It was slightly off, but accurate enough to print pearls on a silhouette at 25yds. I am eyeballing a 1911 in .40 SW.
@@bryanst.martin7134 not much in my opinion. This this is so close to the original
My buddy has one and he’s got 1500 rounds through his and no issues . Even eats hallow points! I got some Wilson combat 47d mags
This is my first 1911 and I’m super happy! I didn’t want to spend 1000$ + and there’s no reason to with this tisas
@@bryanst.martin7134 watch the HICKOK45 tisas us army he compared em to the colt and the Remington.
I was dubious of Tisas until I held one. Now I own one. Great gun especially for the money
@@boltgun7266 absolutely!
I have been eyeing these in 7.62x37..would love too see ya do some.. This stuff in .40 is impressive
Wish the copper rifle bullets would expand that well.
Another great job! Really like my 27 (and my 23) with this and most other Corbon loads.
Good stuff 😎👊
I’d fill my G23 full of this stuff looks pretty good
Those are some really pretty rounds. They look appropriately menacing and expensive out of the box and picture-perfectly expanded out of the jelly! I'm tempted to buy a box just to fondle the little buggers! Seriously, Cor-Bon has made some changes. Their website is improved and they have restocked some items that I thought were basically dead. For example, right now they have their Glaser Safety Slug product available in numerous calibers. That wasn't the case for a long time. These DPX numbers are offered also in .357 and .38 so I hope one day you can test those calibers.
Nice looking performance out of this round. 40 S&W never seems to disappoint. Thanks for video, stay safe.
Can't argue with success. I would like to see a bit more velocity and energy but again these results are hard to be unhappy with. Many thanks. Liken the 40 coverage.
Appreciate that, my friend.😎👊
These copper bullets are very long, as a result, they cannot achieve the same velocities as Jacketed Hollow Points (JHP) because of they reduce the powder capacity in the case. When using Longshot powder, I can attain a velocity of 1330 ft/s with a 155-grain XTP bullet. However, with a 140-grain Barnes TAC-XP bullet, the maximum velocity I can reach is 1125 ft/s using the same type of powder at max load.
Wish there was a way to test knoves since there a very important tool that every man should have even if you dont carry a gun every day atleast carry a good knive .. cold steel is my go to check out the black talon 2 and counter tac 1-2 greqt edc desinged for defense first
💥🔪💥
Copper & light weight works .
Great test! Thank you, Sir.
😎👊
You should really get a hold of the Norma MHP .40 S&W and test it.
Thanks for the test. It ain't 180 grain .40 HST which in my humble opinion, IS the .40 Gold Standard, but it ain't bad either. Thanks to your efforts, we've certainly seen worse.
Great test, Brian! I'd like to find some of those bullets so that I could load them up for my 10mm! I like the performance, especially the penetration! Any bullet that opens that much and yet still penetrates well has got to be a winner! I'm not sure I'd be giving up my Lehigh Xtreme Defender's for this stuff, but I wouldn't feel bad about carrying them, that's for certain. At this point all I need to see are the velocity figures for their 10mm DPX and I might even have to try them out. Despite their 10mm velocities on their other ammo, which seems a bit low, these things might well be a real innovation! Thanks for the time you spend testing, it sure saves me a lot of trouble doing the testing myself! Thank you!!
Cheers,
Have to check out some cor bon for my 9mm ...
Another great Cor Bon test I love the idea of copper expander but 6 to 10in of expansion no thanks my standard is 14in for any defence round I would consider this ammo for sure I'm waiting for the other Cor Bon stuff you got last week in your ammo score video 👍👍
😎👊
Awesome rounds
That looked great out of the g27. I have a px4 storm compact in .40 S&W and this stuff looks like a good option to run. Nice performance for shorter barrels there for sure.
Another good ammo test
I carry corbon 135 grain powerball in my G27 in summer
Thanks for all your time and that goes into these tests
Nice ! Pennies blooming in the gel.😊
💥💰💥
I have some 165 grain 40 S&W fmj that has an insane amount of recoil for training ammo
Some of it can be rowdy.
Im definitely interested in picking up a box or two of these to try out in my M&P compact with the 3.6in barrel.
Good stuff.
Yes sir 40 is the correct answer
Wow, that is great preference, love that Corbond
Thats some nasty wound channels. Impressive stuff
💥😎👊💥
My favorite youtuber! Thanks dude!
185 grain golden saber +p…. In .45 acp
Very impressive ammo, I wouldn't be mad if I had to carry these at all. Another great test Brother! HAGW👍🤛
Thank you sir!😎👊
Good stuff 👍
Love the shirt!
Good stuff rite there👍
I will now bro! Thank you for what you do!
Very impressive 40cal.rounds Tools 🇺🇸👊
I never knew you could get 40 S&W in 140 grains. That's very good results. Thanks for the video.
Those look like some great rounds and would get the job done and then some, thanks
Yessir 😎👊
Although I am not a fan of monolithic expanding bullets for the same reason as you (mediocre penetration), these perform well in the clothing/gel. My only concern is how well they do after passing through hard barriers.
Gotta have a little lead in the diet.😎👊
Pretty flowers 🌸

Postal Service performance is worse than Norma MHP, guess I'll never see that check!
@@theunofficialresults231 Aint that the truth!
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."
Ide like to see those in 45acp if it works in 45 I'll be impressed
It was a great test. I'm curious how it would do out of a Ruger PC4 carbine
I wanna see the 10mm version of these
👍😊 works good 🤔 if there’s a 44mag that should be nasty.
40 ftw imo tyvm ttyl
Impressive! 👍
😎👊
Only bad thing is you 9:46 can't find them anywhere. Only place that I found them they were $23.00 + $18.00 shipping. I don't like them that much Maybe for 50 but not 20. Think I will stick to Federal HST lol
👍🏻👍🏻
Man I got to get some of them for my edc G27
Great video as always thanks bro! Your the man!
Thank you sir. They did the trick.😎👊
thats a 10
👍👍great job tools. Really appreciate all the test.
Thank you sir.😎👊
The 9mm I have expand in 3 petals like the box shows in your video. The picture on my box looks like the ones you shot with more petals. Weird
Thank you great job
Thanks
😎👊
Have you tested the 135gr nosler 40 S&W from underwood? It's rated at 1400 fps. I got a few boxes of it and the 155 xtp. That 135gr is hot stuff. I've put alot thru my 40's and that stuff pops.
Where do I get a hat like that Tools?
Damn dude. That stuff looks great in the gel. How about accuracy out to 25yds though?
Haven't tested that.
Good info thanks!
Planning to go back to my Gen3 Glock 22 and relegate Gen 5 Glock 17 to the safe. After this video, my ammo selection is obvious.
