    I've been in the HVAC&R service business for over 40 years. Modifications & work-around's are an everyday requirement to "get it working". I am surprised that its no different with micro electronics. Your video's and troubleshoot methodology have inspired me to start a new hobby. I've set up a small electronics test bench and started servicing my own old discarded computers and phones. Don't let others tell you that your methods are dodgy or sloppy. Your doing real-world repairs on used equipment "your not Factory reconditioning service!". God bless you for providing real training and inspiring others.

    I told you Sorin was a true gentleman! He is patiently waiting for the customer to return so he can give him back his wallet. Sorin is from the old country where men are fair and honest. I admire him for the great man he is.

    Yes you are a gentleman, I found a LARGE amount of money also one day at a store and I turned it in to the manager. They probably thought I was crazy. Maybe BUT I had my 10 year old son with me and needed to show him YES there are HONEST people in this world. I dont need their money I have my own. THSANK you Sorin for being HONEST. It shows.

      how is he getting a reading of 50mA by touching the ground with power supply and touching the positive with a probe? dont you need to touch two points using probe to get a reading?

    • @zenonthez-132
      @zenonthez-132 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@vvv2k12 I think both are power supply. He set the volts at 19V and when he touches the ground to ground and positive to the circuit, the motherboard draws 50mA (showed in his power supply screen) which he said "a lot" when it should be like around 10mA.

    Sir, I watch your educative videos. You are very good and inteligent teacher. I have a question, when pouring petrol over the suspected area of motherboard while applying 19 volts, why it does not create further short circuit? In other words why it does not damage the part of that circuit where petrol is poured? What is the logic? Is petrol works as an insulator? Please explain in details. Thanks.

    When you showed the short appearing on every power mosfet, i did think a common smd capacitor could be the problem.
    But I did expect you to find something else instead.
    I watch quite a few repairers and smd capacitors are a pain in the arse.
    I don't think you are dishonest sorin, ignore the negative people.

    • @DumahBrazorf
      @DumahBrazorf 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He moved so fast from one mosfet to another he made me cringe. One touch on the wrong side of one mosfet and he could had blow up that rail.
      Like someone with his open hand on the table stabbing fast with a knife between his fingers.

    • @zx8401ztv
      @zx8401ztv 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dumah Brazorf
      Yes i know what you mean, there is always a risk when moving too fast.
      I watch louis rossmann and jessa jones plus others, they all find a lot of shorted capacitors.
      I really don't like the layer smd crap-acitors lol.

    Good afternoon from Spain. I have a doubt:
    How do you know that it will not explode, the damaged component when applying voltage with the power supply, in the carbon resistors? As happened the other time in one of his videos.
    Many thanks for sharing with the world and for my part, since you learn a lot by seeing them. And finally, I apologize for my poor level of English. Have a good holiday and well deserved

    Some repair shops charge after the repair, so I think your customers are very lucky. Besides, what choice have they got but to go elsewhere or buy a new laptop. You are a fair man and your customers will soon realize this, they will come back again and no doubt recommend you to others. All in all, you win some, you lose some. Your time and knowledge is money, you need to pay your staff and the overheads. Do really want to reward the miserly in this world by leaving yourself short? Make'em pay up!

    How to diagnose the problem if your are not accually Diagnose The Problem??? Except for some problems that are obvious what is going on ( one broken screen for example) all the other problems need diangnose to see what is going on. Have you ever went the doctor and he is telling you you have this or the other without checking you first? Thats why i prefer to tell to my customers that i will check your product and i will inform you what is the problem, instead of telling what the problem without being 100% sure. Better safe than sorry.
