I found myself wanting the video to be longer, because it’s damned good. You do a hell of a job. Keep them coming. I saw one in the flesh Sunday at the Austin C&C at COTA. The body work is amazing. Great piece of machinery. Right next to it was a GT4 RS because of course it was. If I could b have several Porsches, sure I’d take a GT3 RS and a GT4 RS and and and…. But if I had to pick one to do it all, I’d take the touring.
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed the video! The body is sublime, but I agree. The GT3 Touring would be the way to go if I had to choose one. I saw a Carrera White Metallic with all the trim blacked out yesterday. Absolutely stunning, and the fact that only a proper Porsche enthusiast can appreciate it makes me like it even more
It is an optional package you can select for your GT3RS. It will give you more carbon fiber parts, the carbon bucket seats, and a few other goodies. Here is the full list from Porsche's website Exterior - Front lid, roof, window triangle and exterior mirrors upper shell in visible carbon (high-gloss), rear wing (movable part) in visible carbon (high-gloss) and with "PORSCHE" lettering on the underside Interior - Bolted rear roll cage in visible carbon (satin finish), door pull handle in visible carbon (satin finish), PDK gearshift paddles made of magnesium with rear milling and magnetic technology, upper part of gearshift panel covered with Race-Tex black, badge with Weissach package logo on passenger side, headrests with embroidered Weissach package logo and enclosed 6-point seat belt for driver and passenger side in black Chassis - Stabilizers on front and rear axle, coupling rods on rear axle as well as thrust field made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), forged Magnesium lightweight wheels
You haven't driven one round a track Vs another 500 HP Porsche. Here's the reality, advantages from aero manifest themselves most clearly on circuits with very fast average lap speeds e.g. Silverstone, Spa Francorchamps or the Nurburgring. Why? because downforce is proportional to the square of velocity. What does this mean? if you take a 991.2 GT3 RS, 992 GT3, 992 GT3 RS and 718 GT4 RS to a slow, or medium average speed circuit you find there is little difference in times between these cars, in fact the difference in time will come down to driver skill level and tires. For example if you took the same driver, the time he would do in a 991.2 GT3 RS fitted with Pilot Sport CUP 2R would likely be quicker than the time he would do in a 992 GT3 RS fitted with Pilot Sport CUP (not 2R). The other reality is the 991.2 chassis as seen in the 991.2 GT3 RS and 991 GT2 RS was phenomenal - thats why the 992 GT3 RS can't get close to a 991 GT2 RS. The 992 GT3 RS is a great car and has lots of great technical aids that club drivers will enjoy (particularly the ability to adjust damping rates) but it will get absolutely demolished by a 991.1 Cup car. That raises a question, why not get a Cup car if you lose a lot of benefits from the 991.2 GT3 RS and 992 GT3 e.g. loss of frunk, much stiffer suspension (~50% higher spring rates all round). The spring rates can be mitigated to some degree by adjusting the damping (this gives it a bit of a mushy feel) and the increased tire width does give a slightly higher side wall that helps a little but also causes a tendency to tramline on certain types of road.
I am not a professional racing driver by any means, so my experience is heavily limited compared to much more seasoned drivers. That’s being said, I am of the opinion that this new GT3RS is a new way of looking at a road car, and that is where I think it excels. To be able to adjust all those parameters with the turn of a knob, to have such radical aerodynamics on a car that can still be optioned out with comfort seats, it is a deeply impressive car. I would be very interested to have a pro-driver test this new RS against the 991.2 in a few different tracks and see the results. Thanks for the comment btw way! Always enjoy hearing from a proper enthusiast
@@carcaveofficial I've driven it and data logged. It didn't blow me away (I already have 991.2 GT3 RS and cleanskin 991.1 CUP) the in car adjustability is useful for rebound and compression damping but has a fairly tightly constrained range. It was slightly quicker than the 991.2 GT3 RS and a lot slower than the 991.1 Cup).
As a driver of a 997 GT3 RS, 991.1 GT3 RS and 992 GT3 RS I‘ve to say that the 992 GT3 RS is a completely different beast. It is true that the aerodynamics will really bring advantage on high speed corners, but thats only half of the truth, the wider body, the larger tires and the different steering brings mechanical grip on a whole new level and this you can feel already at low speed on the track and on the road.
@@harrykressl1251 Except it doesn't. Randy Pobst has put both round Big Willow in the US and he was quicker in both the 991.2 GT3 RS and 991 GT2 RS. There isn't much difference. I've logged a 992 GT3 RS in Europe its marginally quicker than my 991.2 GT3 RS and slower than my 991 Cup.
@@VK6AB- Ok, then you have completely different data than all the German car reviewers and I have. I logged all the cars at Hockenheim and Mugello and there was quite a huge difference. In Hockenheim between the 992 GT3 RS 1.43,3 and the 991 GT3 RS 1.46,4 are more than 2.1 s, which is a completely different level at a 4.7 km track, including 2 long straits which are clearly in favor for the 991.1. Mugello exactly the same experience, more than 2.5 s difference (same tires and comparable conditions) for sure the Cup is quicker but they are not comparable, the Cup is a pure race car, much lighter and on slicks, which will make a difference of another 2-3 s on track. I‘ve driven the 997 GT3 RS on slicks and they make a big difference
That is correct, but the hot air from the nostrils will follow the roofline of the car, slope down the rear hatch, and into the intake of the rear-engine. The fins on the roof are designed to re-direct the hot air away from the rear intake.
Price is ur country $241.300 its so cheap...because price in my country Indonesia $241.300 X 3=$ 723.900 Off the road..maybe ON the road plus $100.000...😂😂😂😂😂$823.900 price in INDONESIA let go Drive GT3 RS😎😎😎
If I had the money this is the only car I’d want nothing beats the styling and the sound of that engine at 9krpms
When* you have the money
Cant get one no matter how much money unless you buy aftermarket- new cars only allocated to very best Porsche clients
love the progression man! subbed since the 300's I see it coming together!
Thank you much mate!

Great video! Without a doubt, this is my dream car.

Will be in your garage one day!
Can you tell me , what’s weissach is ?

It makes sense to me.
Me too
Whole video thought it was white. he says its grey at the end. Can someone say i am now color-blind
The color is technically called arctic grey, but when it’s as bright outside as it was, it looks pretty white
RS with sofa? What a waste of allocation
Different tastes for different people I think, still a great car, just a bit more bearable in the real world!
