So there I was enjoying another great video from GameNight. I took a dinner break and watched Jeopardy. Not only was Jackie on the show but one of the answers was "What is Frankenstein?" with reference to the novel. Look out Twilight Zone :)
I really like this game, but I've only ever played with the shortened version available on the BGG page (the Igor variation, specifically, as there is also a Prometheus version I haven't tried). In that there are only 8 rounds but you get a head start on body parts. Must try the full version some time, although I'm not sure about spending a couple of rounds building up before even getting a lot of material, as happened to most people in this playthrough. Regardless of version, the theme and the casual atrocity of it all are definitely memorable.
I have played this game a couple of times now, and have really enjoyed it so far. But be warned it says 60 to 120 minutes on the box, but both my games have gone over 3 hours. The first was 3 players second at 4 players. And some people are not going to like this due to some of the grizzly and macabre nature of the art.
Where did Lincoln get this shirt? I want one! Also, probably one of the more entertaining ways to explain the rules to this game. Ok. Back to watching now.
Emaciated Burrito are you talking about Rusty’s BoardGameGeek t-shirt? If so that is from our store here: boardgamegeekstore.com/collections/apparel/products/bgg-name-t-shirt -Lincoln
The Public Square does not start the game with corpses in it. Corpses are only added when there is an Execution symbol on the start of round Event card.
Looks like a fun game, but there are some parts that seem to need work. Like that bump thing is a bit off there needs to be something like pay the bank for when you bump yourself if nothing else. Also something to keep someone from just going to the same place over and over like Lincon did. It seemed to kind of game the system. Don't get me wrong still looked like fun, just can see a few parts where it needs work .
Saw this at a local comic shop last week, but the components seem a bit overwhelming. Sitting on Eldritch Horror and KS Court of the Dead: Mourner's Call w/o anyone to play with and don't trust my comprehension with the rules. And for some reason I scratched the itch for Gloomhaven, yet it's solo and rules are similar to D&D, but the damned components... ugh.
This looks so cool...but it's disappointing that despite the awesome theme and excellent artwork, the player pawns and material tokens are so bland, boring, and completely unfitting of the game itself.
I have to say that the Dog Catcher cards (" I caught me the whole litter I did") totally offends me as a dog lover. Kill all the people you want I don't care. but dogs? It's like the red wedding in A game of thrones don't show the dog deaths.
Oh, it's really not. And having played a few more times now, I can confirm that the calculating gets easier. You just have to think about it a bit while you're waiting to take your turn.
That's at 4-player, with teaching. I went out and bought this game right after playing it here and on the second play with my game group at 3p and everyone having played it once before it went about 2 hours. And they all want to play again.
@@aliceplaysboardgames1888 There are two variants (Igor and Prometheus, I believe) and you can find them in the BGG files for the game (along with an unofficial solo game created by a fan). I haven't tried either of them as I'm happy with the game length as it is. But I have heard that they do, indeed, trim down the time and that the designer of the game, Dan Blanchett, is down with them.
22:39 "I don't see nuthin' wrong, with a little bit of bump and bribe..."
My first and favorite game. The theme and mechanics are awesome. Glad you guys featured it. You guys are great.
Just ordered this off Amazon for a great price. Can't wait to get it to the table...
Love this game so much, such a great mix of theme and mechanics.
One sick game😬😁👍
So there I was enjoying another great video from GameNight. I took a dinner break and watched Jeopardy. Not only was Jackie on the show but one of the answers was "What is Frankenstein?" with reference to the novel. Look out Twilight Zone :)
Also Sean Bean was an answer on my fourth show and he stars in The Frankenstein Chronicles (which is pretty cool and available on Netflix).
That’s really cool! I’m reading about Jackie now... and watching some TH-cam videos. What amazing people you meet or hear about in the gaming hobby!
@@JackieFox1976 I loved that show it was very well done! Reminder to watch again if I can find it!
Purchasing Layden Jars during a lightening storm event get put in your lab charged. [51:33]
So looking forward to getting this game! Thanks so much for another quality playthrough.
I love when Jackie plays! Let´s see how dark the GameNight gets!
Thank you for this playthrough, cannot wait to get my copy to the table
Great game, been thinking if getting this one.
How did I miss this game? Thanks for showing it off... paired with Fury of Dracula, I should have October covered.
I'd recommend "Dead of Winter" and "Mysterium". That way, you can have zombies and ghosts along with the vampire and reanimated corpse. :)
Great teach, thorough and thematic. Thanks!
Abomination was my favorite game of 2019. So great to see you folks play!
We will have to play this sometime! Add it to the list :)
nice game guys,
Glad to see Jackie back. :) This game looks like fun if you don't take it too seriously
Might be just the cubes colours and the art, but this game reminded me of Lords of Waterdeep

Perhaps Plaid Hat will release an expansion that does for Abomination what Prelude did for Terraforming Mars.
Great video! Quick question, at 51:35, when Leyden Jars were purchased, shouldn’t they have been immediately charged given the event card of round 2?
Not for me, but glad you all are continuing to demonstrate such a diverse list of games. More Jackie! How about Brass:Lancashire? :)
Lincoln takes a fourth research card without discarding down at 01:10:30 (instantly activating it) and again at 01:16:40
Love the idea of this game.

Try the Igor Variant (www.plaidhatgames.com/news/1035) to shorten play time.
They finally went to Paris, France. I am a happy man!! Thanks for making the joke Lincoln. :)
lol! playing this tomorrow for the first time. what a great timing
“How's it feel to be frozen? Yeah! Ice is nice! Lazlo, buddy!”
My favorite movie! Why am I the only one who has that dream?
Oh the humanity!
I-Gore!
Frode-Rick!
This game is asking for it.
Stay away from the Abbey Normal brain.
Was any actual gameplay edited out? IF not, you played it pretty quickly with the teach included.

@@boardgamegeek I'm scouring the website and can't seem to find that exact tee. The link you provided is for something else, btw.

At 2:54 Shouldn`t the player pay one humanity and a coin for taking a hospital thief?

Hii, BoardGameGeek
So if there is no 'skin' on your creation does that mean you don't have 'skin' in this game?
Never heard of this game before... I might review it on my RPG channel, but anyway, great video!

Great game but waaaaay too many ads throughout, like every five minutes
Thanks for letting me know! I will fix that right now-Lincoln
@@boardgamegeek thanks Lincoln good plays!
First! (I had to...)
No. You didnt
Any video without Dave is one I will bookmark to watch later :)
Rude
There is not enough calculating in this game to require an app. Also not enough fun for me to be interested. This game seemed like work.
Oh, it's really not. And having played a few more times now, I can confirm that the calculating gets easier. You just have to think about it a bit while you're waiting to take your turn.
jeez far too much bookeeping and fiddliness in a game

There is an official variant to reduce the number of turns and playtime.
