    That’s a great process and the Hydroshot allows for use without a power source. But 3:1 Super Clean on good paint seems a little harsh since you’ve recommended it 4:1 on tires and engine bays which require much more aggressive cleaning.. It’s commonly used 10:1 on interiors, so I’d be more comfortable using Super Clean as a car pre-wash maybe 8:1 to 6:1.

    Scott, what would be the effect of using super-clean this way on a coated vehicle? Would it degrade the coating quickly of mar its finish? I understand you saying "who cares" if it strips the previous wax since you are going to reapply a sealant after the wash, but I would not want to shorten the lifespan of a coating that was likely a significant investment.

    • @dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343
      @dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      each coating is different..some coatings can be affected by a high alkaline cleaner so you need to be careful..always ask the coating company directly if you can use a non ph degreaser or soap on your coating

    hello scott? So would you say it's safe to use a degreaser such as Super Clean on vehicles paint as a pre-treat to loosen up all the dirt and grime and be able to rinse it off? Thanks!

    • @crossfiregaming9541
      @crossfiregaming9541 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel Ontiveros he used it diluted 3-1 so yes in that form it is safe but I wouldn’t recommend using it without diluting cause if it was safe he would have done so. Diluting also saves product which saves money and super clean is such a strong degreaser that it’s still very affective for what he wants to achieve.

  • @jroddz
    @jroddz 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Super clean is a degreaser. If you want to strip the wax off your paint with sodium hydroxide (lye), then by all means spray it all over your car.

      Daryl Ramos That’s not a pressure washer. He’s demonstrated the Hydroshot a number of times in previous videos. He explained the basic scenario at 8:10, as he’s demonstrated before for folks with no water or power hookups. Plus the definition of rinseless wash only means rinseless WASH, a means of reducing water.

    Been using ONR for years. Gary Dean method for me FTW. I understand what you're saying about getting good MF's dirty but I'm not a pro and just use the Costco ones and they work like a champ in this application. To me it's just the safest method since you never are going back into the "dirty" water. Just my opinon and appricate you taking the time showing your method too. Cheers.

    When doing maintenance washing on cars with a lot of dirt and highway oils, it seems to be that you will always need to use a strong enough cleaner (such as SuperClean or Purple Power) which will always strip away some of any sealant you use on the car (such as a ceramic coating). Neutral pH washes simply won’t remove the highway residue left on the car, they only remove the surface dust. So you always have to reapply sealant to the car. As such, it make little sense to use an expensive ceramic sealant that supposedly would last 2-3 years on a car only to have the strong cleaner strip it away. It makes better sense to more often use (with the maintenance washes) a less expensive but durable sealant/wash that can last between the wash frequency - particularly if the sealant is very easy and quick to apply.

    • @drzflyest4
      @drzflyest4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those cleaners will not strip a ceramic coat. It may remove those removable spray on ceramic coats though

    Use power clean and you can ONR right over it
    I know this is a old video. But i use the BRS and a couple 500 gsm towel. Pre treat with Power clean 5:1, rinse or go over with ONR, first wipe with bRS, 2nd wipe with wet but wrung out MF towel. Opti seal then dry with drying towel. If the car is not that dirty i do two passes with the BRS before drying.

  • @romari2706
    @romari2706 5 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    Thank you. The key is using a 1 gallon pump sprayer filled with SuperClean at a 3:1 dilution with distilled water (or any other more effective diluted cleaner such as Purple Power) to emulsify the dirt and debris which you can then rinse off with water (in your case using less than 1 gallon using a battery operated pressure washer). This Pre-Cleans the car so you can do the actual wash with the Rinseless Wash (ONR in this case) to remove any remaining dirt on the car while skipping the final rinse step (since you are using a. Rinseless cleaner). Then you reapply a sealant (if you are doing maintenance) to the car. The 1 gallon pump can be prepared with SuperClean and stored until needed for the wash. It seems far more convenient and efficient to do this than using a foam gun with pressure washer.

    3:1 superclean pre-soak seems really frickin strong for paint. I love it and use it on wheels, tires, engine bay, carpets, other durable surfaces, but never tried it on my paint out of fear of it being too strong. Maybe 10:1 would still work and be effective. Your purple power vehicle and boat wash would probably be a better pre-soak option maybe? That's what I'd do at least.

    You can debate the pressure wash system,because your sheering dirt off the car at 2000 psi then dragging it across the entire car,then soap doesn’t have the same lubricity as ONR,then water is a solvent so when you are done,with just water sitting on the car alone,is harder to dry than ONR,so you will be dragging your towel multiple times on the car to dry it,with onr one or two passes with the towel its dry.

    Exactly how I was thinking of using it.
    I just wonder if we can mix apc and onr in the same backet and pre-treat it. Or onr will fight apc

    Is this rinseless? Can i work with this method inside a garage, i guess not. Only if i have some system to drain the water used with the “high” pressure.

    If you can use.the worx...why using worx+.onr+ super clean in the first place doing 2 steps, and not using worx + purple power. Instead.of s.clean+onr. ????or other tfr. Shoap?????

    Hi Scott I know this question is not about rinseless washing but I am new to detailing and I only do my car and family’s but I love spending hours detailing in fact I love it almost as much as I love to driving my car. Scott i never really new what orange Peeling was . I do now ! I have 2017 Camaro ss and I was looking at the paint And I got it in just the right light and then I saw it. It looks just like the skin of a orange my question is it in the base coat or the clear coat if it’s in the clear I am assuming I could puff it out ?and is there any thing you could tell me about what I can do. now don’t get me wrong it still looks good but after watching your channel I know it could look a lot better thanks for your help

    I've developed a wash media system with ONR that nobody mentions. I use the Big Red Sponge, which has cuts in it and makes it far more effective than the yellow sponge in your demo, and 1 microfiber towel. The sponge covers a lot of surface area and makes washing quicker while the microfiber towel allows me to get into nooks and crannies. This seems to work very will for me. I fully agree with your pre rinse method. I've started to use my citrus APC when I will be waxing or sealing the vehicle after the wash. If it's a maintenance wash, I pre-rinse with ONR.

    Why not just use the PP Boat & Vehicle in the sprayer as a TRF instead of Super Clean. Is the Super Clean better for TFR?

    I love the videos. Youve given me the confidence to buy the HF polisher and some lake country and Jescar stuff. But being in WI im not sure what washing videos apply to me and my brand new Hyundai.

    so apparently rinse less wash means you do not rinse while washing but rinse after washing which is what you always do so is rinse less just a gimmick >

    Just found your videos and subscribed. My question is the Super Clean ration. 3 parts water to 1 part Super Clean or 3 parts Super Clean to 1 part water? Thanks!

    Although this is an old video hope you address my question. I never used Purple Power before, would "HYPER TOUGH 2OV CORDLESS 1 GALLON SPRAYER" be sufficient enough to rinse Purple Power OR maybe wiping it off with just water? (I am in water-restricted area and instead of using WORKX, I am considering cordless sprayer with less water usage if it works with PP). Just thinking, what about diluting PP till it can still clean traffic film and wipe off with ONR?)

    Very good ideas I will use this process. In Phoenix we don't alwash have a lot of rain so I can use onr but when it does now I have a better option. Let us know your towel company. 😁

    Wow! So its 'natural' that dust and dirt and such WILL fall or sling onto my nicely prepped and sealed paint. My '63 Chrysler Imperial Le Baron needed a lot of detail. Anyhoo...the fact that nature will 'punish' me (dirt, etc), even if the car just sits, simply means I NEED TO CONTINUE TO 1) SOMEWHAT DESTROY ALL THE WORK I SPENT AND 2) MAINTAIN AS YOUR VIDEO SHOWS VERY WELL. Who'dah thunk? Cap's = OUY VEY!!! Frankly I thought sealants protect the paint from such as this Super Clean prep wash. By 'protect' I mean: a light wash with Super Clean WILL NOT degenerate the sealant. NOT TRUE (I am a dumb bell) .Scott: this 'keeping the car clean' is virtually insane! No wonder folks resort to 'living with the dirt'!!!! Interesting thought: LEARN TO APPRECIATE YOUR DIRTY CAR!!! Know it still gets you to point B and the A/C still works, in spite of the 'nature loves me...it dirties my car'! Do the .me too, touchless car wash often. Or...have the local Detail Pro on retainer to come 'on demand' and fix my dirty car! But....I have a bad attitude! No...I am just disillusioned,
