Hi Nick…my wife and I have just returned from a self drive adventure across Namibia which was inspired by your videos.. they were always instructive…always inspiring….ultimately will be the catalyst to a trip of a life time…a BIG Thank you and good luck for the future.
Hey Boet. Still keeping it real... This is what makes your channel different(unique). So you have dealt with your fear and that is awesome. Onwards and upwards. PS... the thumbnail should be "a new chapter" not "the end..." Never stop dreaming.
As a Namibian who is very passionate about travel and adventure I joined your channel to support it and to travel with you virtually and I have learned a lot through your channel. It’s sad that this theme is gonna be overtaken by another. Wish you all the best though.;Your resilience will see you through the thickness of what you have already transcended and you will surely come out shining
Sorry to hear this Nick. As a Brit that fell in love with a SA woman and wants to explore different parts of Africa away from Cape Town your videos have given me lots of ideas for future adventures when we are in the Southern Hemisphere. Good luck!
Nick, stop saying it was a failure, please. It would have been a failure if you wouldnt have started. If you wouldnt have had the courage to leave your scheduled life behind and wouldnt have tried it. You have had beautifull experiences , became a stronger and wiser person and we were allowed to witness it. We were informed and entertained and even more importantly: inspired. Oh and I loved the rawness and realness of your video's and your style as well. There is always a deeper lifegoal to what you want to acheive and you have realised that deeper goal and thus it was a big succes ! Period
@sponzie1 That is great and for a lady of 60 years young, I could imagine quite an enterprise. I was 50 when I started going to South Africa (in and around Krugerpark). Reading trip reports I decided to go to Zimbabwe and Zambia, still in lodges and a holiday home. But the video's of people like Nick 5410africa , Edward Bath and 4x4ventures made me rent a 4wd with rooftop tent into Botswana and Zimbabwe (also solo). These were the best and most special experiences. Thanks to those guys.
No one has failed as long as they can start again. Failure is part of the success journey. Thanks for being honest Nick. I like your channel. Best wishes .
You channel is/was the best. After discovering your channel we did a Southern Africa road Trip. Your channel made our trip the best this far because You are real so is your Channel.. Thank you very much, I/we hope you will continue 👍🏾🙏🏾
I haven't clicked on a video so fast. I'm from Zim and I fell in love with your content as I'm considering something similar to explore Africa by road (without the YT channel though). Thank you for all the insight and inspiration. Wishing you the best!!
Thank you soon much for your videos, I'm a 50year old lady and took a solo trip to Namibia. Your video helped me with all info I needed. Good luck and we will be waiting for your return❤
Just here to say thank you again for your vulnerability and your insight into traveling Africa. You were THE reason I did a solo road trip across Namibia last year. Without your guidance and inspirational content, it wouldn’t have happened. You did not fail at all. You’re on a journey and just remember you have so many fans out there that support you and can’t wait to see what you do next. Incredible work! 👏

Hey Nick, literally just started watching your Chanel 💔. Planning my CKGR solo tour. It is hard, but I think you must build back better. You don’t have to disappear or change. Just take it slower. You have a passion. Do shorter trips and do more local. Keep the Chanel it has a history which can one day be achieved the way you want it to be.
So great to hear from you again! I can't wait to see the changes you plan to make to your channel, but please, please, please, do not stop what you are doing. Your content is always great and a pleasure to watch. Jou supporters staan saam met jou!

I toured Namibia for a whole month in july 2023 because you inspired me,your videos were so clear, exact and accurate,I'm saddened but I thank you so much and wish you well
Howdy Nick! Hope you will be back! Love your efforts! As it is said about excuses-your friends don’t need them and your enemies don’t care! Baie Dankie!
Hello Nick. I found your videos purely by 'accident' and started watching and I am hooked. Totally love the no nonsense no frills approach you have, and all the laughing. I am a born Suid-Wester and planning on moving back to my hartsland . Watching your videos just again shows how amazing and beautiful our country and the people is. So on that long note THANK YOU!!!! I will continue watching and please keep all your supporters up to date when you're planning on doing it again.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us all. I visited Namibia for the first time partially because of your channel. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life, a month spent traveling in the most amazing country. Thank you for the inspiration, and good luck with your future plans.
Hi Nick, great to see you are doing well. I need to thank you again, your videos and also you personally helped me plan our trip to Namibia and Botswana. Hope to meet you one time when i return back down there :) keep up :)
Nick, really enjoyed your honest commentary and wish you the best with whatever you choose to do. If you decide to create a new channel or continue with this one and draw from your experience, I am sure a lot of us will continue to support you. You have a talent for this so good luck mate.
Hi Nic, thanks for your videos which we ❤ - we have been 3 month in Western Cape, Namibia, Caprivi, Botswana and we have visited some of your recommendations. And we have never been disappointed!!! Thanks for that. Bernd from Germany
I've personally loved your channel. Being a young South African, keen on adventure, camping etc, I really enjoyed your simple approach to adventuring. Showing that you don't need all this fancy gear and equipment to get our there and enjoy nature. Use what you have and spend your money wisely. Trots op jou dat jy eerlik gedeel het en ook deur gedruk het wanneer dit moeilik was. Legend!
I grew up in Malawi Blantyre and Lusaka Zambia in the 80/90s, great memories and really enjoyed your trip and using it as motivation to tour all the great southern African countries as an adult. You showed great resilience and character appreciate you.
Hi Nick. I just wanted to say i have been binge watching your videos recently. They are extremely informative and in my opinion some of the best and most authentic Southern Africa experiences and guides. I am due for a Namibia trip in a few months and your videos helped me a lot in preparing for it. Thank you for your dedication in helping us learn our overlanding trips especially in Namibia. I wish you all the best.

Hey Nick, great to see you back albeit with a little sadness in your voice. But you have to be smiling and singing now as the Hammers have just won a cup. I keep my fingers crossed for you and I hope you will be on track again sometime later. Wish you all the best and I thank you for this honest video. You are a man of honour because you are able to speak about the things that most of us would never share with such a great audience.
I'm now only seeing this video after many months seeing watcing your tour around the continent😂. Good to have you back, Nick🙏🏾. I swear, I'm finna start trolling the negative comments under your videos.🚮🚮 There is absolutely nothing you do that warrant them.
Hi Nick, enjoyed and appreciate your channel very much especially why share valuable advices and share the things how they are. Yes, thar´ s most likely what attract adverts and sponsors so much. But overlanders benefit a lot from that insides hard to get known. Hope to see you back with some content. Till then stay safe!
Hi Nick. From where I'm sitting you didn't fale at all. If you inspired only a few person's to get up and start realizing their own overlanding dream you have accomplished so much. Thanks for your honesty and openness.
Great to hear from you again Nick! Social media, particularly YT can be so brutal sometimes, as we well know. Glad to hear that you want to still post content. We'll always be watching out for your videos 😉 Thanks for the ride along 🤝🏼
Hi mate, I've spent 7 years driving around Africa. A 6 month trip, then a 9 month trip, then a 3 years trip and so on... some huge disasters along the way ;-) I'd suggest treating what you have done so far as a great learning experience, stock up your energies and money, as you are doing now, reassess and redo the plan and set off again when things seemed aligned... Good luck! PS: I'll be in the Caprivi soon, drop me aline if you'd like to meet up
Hi Nick, just discovered your channel and kept me really entertained :-) I plan a major trip through Namibia and Botswana on my own in two legs for a total 16 weeks next year. It took me the last three years for the plannings: distance, fuel consumption, water, gears (as basic as possible, but as necessary to be safe). But to be 100% fair, the planning was possible also because of the many trips I've done in previous years (since 2016 actually), so I know the areas and know what I'm doing and what I need to be carful from. Did a test journey of 4 weeks in Botswana, and guess what: had the fuel tank leaking in Kubu island and drowned the car in Moremi which I managed to recover it in 6 hours. It costed me the last third of the trip (and some money too). But I'm so thankful that all this happened because I could test how to manage issues and now I feel ready for the big one. Having said that, was wandering how many people do self drive the Kalahari on their own, as far as I could see on the way, none! I just know a few people who did travel on their own from forums and some youtube channels. But I still counted just 4 you included. So it's definitely not everyone's cup of tea. But what I really appreciated in your videos are all the issues you had and how you sorted them out, and that is the big plus of your series in terms of risk assessment. Your series couldn't be more educational and informative if everything went smooth and flawless. Sure, easy to say for me since it happened to you and not to me, but still, keep your experience as the most valuable one and maybe you can create a dedicated chapter/playlist like "how to handle breakdowns"? Good luck for the future and never give up!
Good on ya mate for being honest about everything. Without challenges, let downs, disasters we would be wimps.😂 So keep going as we all Love you and your videos and miss them dreadfully. Cannot wait to find out what next boet
Your channel inspired us to visit Namibia 🇳🇦. We were happy to meet you in real at the Urban camp. We had a lot of experiences traveling through your country. Hi Nick, so sorry to hear your news. Hardly a failure, shi(f)t happens and the plan was always ambitious. You kept it real and always provided great insights. Vasbyt, as we say!
Thanks Mike🙂
Wanted to thank you. Just spent a month in Namibia (on my way to Bots now) and had a blast. Especially Etosha. Thank you.
I keep my fingers crossed for you and I hope you will be on track again sometime later. Wish you all the best and I thank you for this honest video. You are a man of honour because you are able to speak about the things that most of us would never share with such a great audience.
thanks John🙂
Thx for sharing …… hang in there the outcome will be we just need to believe 🙏👍👏🎥🙏🇿🇦
You will come back more stronger😢
I'm now only seeing this video after many months seeing watcing your tour around the continent😂. Good to have you back, Nick🙏🏾. I swear, I'm finna start trolling the negative comments under your videos.🚮🚮 There is absolutely nothing you do that warrant them.
haha, thanks😂
You gave it all you had. We really enjoyed your videos. We were shocked to hear that are sad people who attack others.
You haven't failed, not at all! I'm so glad you are still making videos! Best of luck x
Thank you so much!!
Staan sterk Nick! Ons kyk uit vir die volgende een. Voorspoed!!
Danke Jorrie👍🙂
You'll never forget the things you tried & failed....you'll only regret what you've never dared yourself to try.
exactly
Hi Nick, enjoyed and appreciate your channel very much especially why share valuable advices and share the things how they are. Yes, thar´ s most likely what attract adverts and sponsors so much. But overlanders benefit a lot from that insides hard to get known. Hope to see you back with some content. Till then stay safe!
Thanks, appreciate the kind words🙂
Hi Nick.
From where I'm sitting you didn't fale at all. If you inspired only a few person's to get up and start realizing their own overlanding dream you have accomplished so much. Thanks for your honesty and openness.
Thank you Karel🙂
Hey Nick.. enjoy Katima.. I subscribed today 😊. I am inspired.
Katima is my home town and i hope you are having fun 🎉
keep pushing and try again👍
Great to hear from you again Nick! Social media, particularly YT can be so brutal sometimes, as we well know. Glad to hear that you want to still post content. We'll always be watching out for your videos 😉 Thanks for the ride along 🤝🏼
Thank you, appreciate the comment🙂
Be back soon, you inspired us don't give up. Because of your content, my family and I will travel to Namibia this summer🙏👍🏻👍🏻
Glad to hear that, enjoy your trip to Namibia
Hi mate, I've spent 7 years driving around Africa. A 6 month trip, then a 9 month trip, then a 3 years trip and so on... some huge disasters along the way ;-)
I'd suggest treating what you have done so far as a great learning experience, stock up your energies and money, as you are doing now, reassess and redo the plan and set off again when things seemed aligned... Good luck!
PS: I'll be in the Caprivi soon, drop me aline if you'd like to meet up
Thanks Yak. Sort of the plan for now keeping in mind my responsibilities here in Namibia
Thanks Andreas🙂 glad the videos helped and have fun on your future adventures. Remember Im in NE Namibia if you pass through this area
Good on ya mate for being honest about everything. Without challenges, let downs, disasters we would be wimps.😂 So keep going as we all Love you and your videos and miss them dreadfully. Cannot wait to find out what next boet

awesome Channel , just a new path...
Hi Nick. I am glad I stumbled upon your channel, even though it is during your 'hiatus'. I wish I bumped into the channel earlier, at least before we met on the Odfjell Hercules earlier this year.😄, not knowing you do such cool stuff.
Great content, I love it, the minimalist, honest travel. I will definitely stick around to see the channel transform, can't wait to see that. Hope to meet you again some time. Keep well.
Loved the channel, content, presentation style and honest evaluation of your journey. Best of luck for your new ventures Nick.
Thanks Ben, appreciate the comment
