I was about to buy another printer, it’s sitting in my Amazon cart, but I decided to give it a last try and look for more videos….. your video saved me a lot of $$$ thank you.
I was sending my brother printer to the service center for troubleshoot and been told parts replacement was obsolete, almost give up then i found your video that help me to solve the long waited issue that just did the cleaning just in 1 minute. Brilliant and keep up the work. Thank you.
Awesome 👌!!! I have a Brother MFC-J430W, and your simple tip helped wonderfully. I tried for such a long time with Brother's trouble shooting but nothing worked... NOTHING! Couldn't they have mentioned this little trick?!?! Serioulsy, not happy with them. I didn't even have jammed paper in my printer. You're a life saver! Thx so much!
I have a different model, but found this video after following Brother's troubleshooting steps to no avail. Turned out there was some fine lint buildup on a roller inside the printer - which I didn't notice earlier. Wiped it clean, as best I could, with a lint-free cloth, and the paper jam error is gone. Printer works again. I had already started looking at replacement printers in frustration, when I thought I'd do a more generic TH-cam search for my issue, and stumbled across your video. This saved me a few hundred bucks in unnecessary expense. Thank you, thank you!
I have a Brother HL-5250DN (B/W laser). I opened it up and found it quite dusty inside. I wiped down the areas I could and blew out other areas with compressed air. It also had a blue slider which slides the full width of the paper path. I moved the slider back and forth several times, leaving it in its original position. (That slider may clean the component this video was talking about.) After powering up and trying to print, it still had the same "paper jam" error. Then I pressed the "Go" button in the front left corner of the printer and it worked, but only for one sheet. Maybe I need to clean more thoroughly. Thanks Szilassy for getting me thinking about cleaning the whole printer.
You saved me from purchasing a new printer as well! I kept getting the message "Paper Jam" and I had cleared it, couldn't see anything until I watched your video and you said something about the print head. I moved the print head and there was a small piece of paper that had ripped off and was tuck in the corner. You saved me money and aggravation, Thank You!
Sir...that absolutely worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have this industrial printer that i inherited from a company that was looking to get rid of it and i just repaired it with a napkin instead of getting a new printer. You are the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just saved me hundreds of dollars.
I fought our 895DW for probably an hour before I was ready to buy another printer. Your video saved us! I was skeptical but it worked like a charm! I can’t believe that isn’t part of Brothers procedure to fix this issue
Fantastic! 30 minutes by myself and 20 minutes with a Brother Chat 'specialist' and less than a minute when I just moved the 'print head' all the way to the left - must have come loose during delivery.... THANK YOU!!!
I had a Brother MFC-J870DW and this technique worked beautifully. I was totally stuck on this paper jam error, would have never thought of this without your video. Thank You!
I spent hours on my printer and was really frustrated as there was no more paper jammed in it - until I found this on U tube . Brilliant , worked immediately.
i got a printer 2 weeks ago i had the same problem look everywhere couldnt find the solution , till saw your video and fixed the problem..... THANK YOU SO MUCH from peru
I fought mine for an hour - no paper jam. Not a good way to start my day off! Finally found this page and started the procedure. The false "paper jam" problem cleared up by unplugging the power cord and pushing start and plugging back in. Magic! Thanks!
Thank You!!!! I have been trying for days to clear this paper jam error that does not exist. Sent a message to brother support with no response. Was ready to throw it out the window or kick it ( how I sometimes fix things ) or even hit it with a hammer. Obviously I was extremely frustrated as I have several chores to complete that I cannot do without the ability to print. So grateful for this simple fix.
THANK YOU! You saved me from buying a new printer. Even though I went through Brother's online video tutorial, AND called their support line, there was no reference to the simple method of using alcohol to clean the belt for the print-heads. This is terrific!!
Thanks for google it lead me to you! I was about to open my printer. And then i watched this, i just wiped that thing and it worked again! Im so happy thank you!
Following a real jam resulting in little bits getting stuck, the error just would not clear. Thanks to you and your info I am back printing again. Thank you so much !
It worked. Thanks. I had ink soaked paper right where I could see it. Then eventually 😂 when I moved print head across and got better light I found more ink soaked paper rammed up by side of body and where print head sits
Thanks!! After going nuts trying to clear "paper jam" on Brother MFC-J870DW, went onto you tube & just by wiping plastic, All fixed, thanks for taking the time to post the video!!
I didn't think this would work as seemlessly as it did. Especially since I have a different model. Gosh this really saved me in a pinch. I was worried I'd have to go out and buy a while new printer. Thanks a bunch!
6 of 6 tries to print with false paper jam. Cleaned this strip and 2 of 2 tries to print successful. Will get back with update when I print more. Thank for this video! Update: 22 of 22 tries to print successful.
Wow. This just worked for me on a Brother J885DW printer. I think it had happened before and we had bought a new one, and I was about to again. Instead, with a little help from my adult son, I found the tape (position looked quite different from in the video, but was just in front of where the print head rolls out), rubbed it up & down with paper napkin dampened with 70% rubbing alcohol, and the jam went away. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much. It worked on Brother MFC-J430W. I can't believe it. I got "Paper Jam" for so long without a piece of paper in it and this method can fix it all in a few seconds. Thanks!!!
Thank you so much. I couldn't fix my Brother MFC-J875DW Paper Jam Front and Rear until I found your video. Your advice works and cleared the error instantly!
Thanks. Worked for me as well. There was paper jam front rear on my brother j450dw that wasn't going away, that was until I tried your fix. You saved me a headache. Thanks again
Thank you for helping me to fix my printer! It was happen 3am then my printer keep sayin' "paper jam" even though I can't see any piece of paper in my printer then I did what you said/did then, TADA! MY PRINTER WORKS AGAIN! THANKYOUUUU
I forgot to mention my printer is mfc -j6510dw and your information worked perfect for me, I dont know how to thank you as the brother support team did not have a solution for me after the first contact
You really saved me! I didn't know what to do because it wasn't no paper in the printer and i saw your video, checked my printer again and problem solved! thanks a lot!
OMGosh - thank you so much for this video. I have a Brother J435W and I'd been pulling out my hair trying to fix a "Paper Jam " error when there was no paper jammed - grrr! After watching your video I noticed some ink smudges on the contact strips of the printer. A quick swipe with a tissue paper and the error message went away! Thank you, thank you!
Thanks for that, after trying everything I could think of & was at the point of buying a new printer, came across your video. Thought that will never work, but tried it anyway, Success. Thanks again
I hardly need to add my thanks to all the others, but still extremely grateful! Don't use a handkerchief, however clean and lint-free, unless it's already been consigned to the rag box, as you'll probably get ink on it! Just a tip from my experience-and a small price to pay!
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! this fixed the problem...I was heartbroken, and lost but YAY!! I did everything, looked everywhere, was trying to find that damn sensor, but this, this did it!
Thank you. I have an HL-3045CN model. I fed it a sheet slightly sideways. I was able to pull it out before it started printing, but the machine had already recognized an issue and kept insisting I removed all cartridges and pulled out 'jammed paper' which had already been removed. I turned it off, unplugged it and inspected the cartridges one by one to make sure they were dust free and that everything was all the way to the left ready to print, put everything back inside, replugged and turned it on, and the problem had cleared. So I don't know if unplugging and replugging it alone did the trick or if any of the actual manipulations I tried to replicate as best I could on my different model helped, but I have a printing printer again.
Wow, thank you so much. Tried everything on my brother mfc 6910dw, but error message always was 'paper jam front rear'. But there was no paper stuck anywhere. - So i just cleaned the transparent plastic thingy which you showed in the video and paper jam error was gone immediately. Printer works fine now.
Lol it worked but when I was trying to fix it I forgot to put the paper in and then after that when the paper was in, I left the back cover open and paper kept coming out the back! After about 10 min., I fixed it. Thnx!
Cleaning my printer this way didn't fix the problem but it did help me discover that there was a screw inside it which was causing the 'paper jam.' Still thanks for this!
It still amaze me how this actually work ._. Ive been on my printer for hours and called ppl for help then found this on google and it actually work wth
This video, posted seven years ago and featuring a different printer model, just saved me! THANK YOU!
I was about to buy another printer, it’s sitting in my Amazon cart, but I decided to give it a last try and look for more videos….. your video saved me a lot of $$$ thank you.
Same!! I was just coming to comment on here saying the same thing all the other comments say! Haha.
Add me to your list of people 9 years later!! who you saved from having to buy a new printer. Great job mate!
I hope it works for me 😩😩😩
Thank you !!! 7 years later, this video helped me get our Brother printer back up and running !
I was sending my brother printer to the service center for troubleshoot and been told parts replacement was obsolete, almost give up then i found your video that help me to solve the long waited issue that just did the cleaning just in 1 minute. Brilliant and keep up the work. Thank you.
tried for 2 days to resolve problem; wiped the strip 2 times machine worked..truly excellent

Same printer, same problem. I was skeptical since this video is 9 years old, but so far, so good!
Fantastic! 30 minutes by myself and 20 minutes with a Brother Chat 'specialist' and less than a minute when I just moved the 'print head' all the way to the left - must have come loose during delivery.... THANK YOU!!!
This video saved my printer. I tried a dozen different things and nothing worked until this. Thank you.
I had a Brother MFC-J870DW and this technique worked beautifully. I was totally stuck on this paper jam error, would have never thought of this without your video. Thank You!

You have literally saved my poor Brother DCP-J140W. Thankyou.

It worked. Thanks. I had ink soaked paper right where I could see it. Then eventually 😂 when I moved print head across and got better light I found more ink soaked paper rammed up by side of body and where print head sits
This also explains why I had to replace black and blue ink cartridges! I had lots of ink saturated paper

It worked! can't believe it. I was almost about to throw it to my rubbish bin 5 minutes before watching your video...
Thanks!! After going nuts trying to clear "paper jam" on Brother MFC-J870DW, went onto you tube & just by wiping plastic, All fixed, thanks for taking the time to post the video!!
Godspeed man. Looked at the strip and saw some lubricant on it. Cleaned it using a tissue. It is working now!
I didn't think this would work as seemlessly as it did. Especially since I have a different model. Gosh this really saved me in a pinch. I was worried I'd have to go out and buy a while new printer. Thanks a bunch!
