Happy to see people still remembering Sunny Hill and recommending them
The fable the grasshopper song was based on originally teaches about the virtues of hard work and planning ahead, but the song takes the perspective of the grasshopper telling the listener it's okay to take it slow and laugh along the way. It's such a nice message
I was bummed when Janghyun did his enlistment and they reformed without him: vocally he didn't feature in the titles as much as the bsides but he also composed and produced for the team and I liked the stuff in that Era the best. They had a lot of member changes! Everyone was always talented though, I'm really glad you're getting to check them out 😍
I forgot about Sunny Hill. The Grasshopper song was so big when it came out.
The only co-ed group I stanned back then. They don't make music videos like theirs anymore
Wow thanks for the one who suggested this group I used to listen to them in 2012 and they along with Spica were the group I wait for every comeback even i am not a real fan unfortunately they were not popular in Korea as a group but they had a lot of hit OST.
I used to listen to princess and prince charming it was so fun for me.
Also the man is a part of the group as they are a coed group but he didn't have a lot of parts.
2012 was the best year of kpop you can't find a bad song in that year every song deserved a daesang back then " in my opinion of course " 😊

I randomly came across Midnight Circus on a Spotify playlist some months ago. Never heard of Sunny Hill before, but that song just immediately sunk its hooks into me. Very catchy in all its quirkiness. I've been meaning to check out more Sunny Hill ever since, so this video was very useful for me.
I only started getting into K-pop last summer, and reaction videos have become one of my main avenues of discovering stuff in the genre. But with new music constantly being released and demanding attention, there's less time to devote to groups of the past. It feels like there's probably a treasure trove of great music pre-3rd gen that's just hard to come across unless one is specifically pointed towards it, if that makes sense. Which is kind of sad, if unsurprising.
Well, I got to discover some new songs today, at least. Thank you for doing this video, and keep up the good work!
I actually at first thought I had one of their albums but turned out to be Ebony HIll :) A really good rnb group. I'm working on doing a kind of like a throwback reaction series. I go back and listen to Korean music I found in 2006 and a bit later on. I didn't listen to any Idol groups at the time...so I have quite a few different groups, and solo artist to go through :)

Gosh I can't remember the last time I saw anyone react to Sunny Hill but I loved them soooooooo much! I always looked forward to their comeback because of their MVs lol.
I remember the release of The Grasshopper Song and it's been on my Playlist since then. Sunny Hill doesn't seem to be that well known in South Korea, but herw in Brazil i remember Grasshopper and Midnight Circus being fairly popular back in the day
The guy was a part of the group XD One of the rare co-ed groups... I love these songs so much, I was so obsessed with both Midnight Circus and The Grasshopper Song... it was crazy hahaha

omg sunny hill in 2021 i didnt expect to see thatm BTW the guy is a memeber of the group, i used to listen to the Grasshoper on and one back in 2012, i heard months ago they weree coming back but i see no updates about that, they have an amazing OST
we have the same taste in girl groups, and the only ggs i followed are ( f(x)/ dreamcatcher/ Exid (before their reformation they were 6 members/ and sunny hill i loved their style

I'd like to say I agree with most of your point of view about them, I had a similar reaction at first, with the exception that I DID add Midnight Circus and The Grasshopper Song to my playlist because I love unique-sounding music like that so much!! My faborite member is Kota too (the one you pointed out in the 1st and 3rd song)! Looking forward to seeing which other songs you'll be checking out in part 2! 🙏👀

After these three masterpieces, Sunny Hill's musical output went into a downward spiral. I almost never touched their discography after Grasshopper Song unless I clicked their songs accidentally. *Goodbye to Romance is not that bad, however it pales in comparison to the trifecta
