    Very interesting video; a good reason to buy a second hand old version of the Speed Twin and improve it's suspensions.

    Love it Dave. Real stuff. Everyone knows manufacturers skimp on suspension, especially not at the top of their range. I rode a Trident recently and it was like being on a bouncy ball. Good job Pete.

    On your video you show the rebound adjustment at the top and preload at the bottom, yet all adverts for these shocks show it the other way round. Does it matter which way up they are fitted? I could see problems adjusting the preload at the bottom because of the proximity of the adjusters to the silencers.

    • @obsession_engineering
      @obsession_engineering  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the bike model depends which way up the shocks are mounted. Luckily the preload adjusters are easily accessible.

    G’day Dave,
    I’ve just ordered a set of rear shock to upgrade my speed twin. I didn’t think to check and presumed that they could be adjusted for two up riding. Is this the case please? and if not is it too late to change my order as I only confirmed a couple of hours ago. I wouldn’t want them to arrive down under if they aren’t adjustable. I bought the 80 to 90 kg weight range. Great video by the way

    "This is the bike Triumph should have made to begin with" seems like a common sentiment for just about all manufacturers. Not sure how they do not see that if it cost $2k more for a better suspension people would pay the money.

    Do you think it's worth the extra money on the Speed Twin to upgrade rear suspension with compression adjustment also?

    • @obsession_engineering

      The 21 onwards bikes, with the upside down forks were better anyway, or at least the forks were, so you'd probably only need shocks. For the same spec as we fitted they're £481 for a pair, and make a massive difference

    • @obsession_engineering
      @obsession_engineering  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not as far as I'm aware. It's not uncommon for the little bleed hole to weep occasionally though, sometimes the seals pass a little fluid, and the hole is there for exactly that reason, so it leaks out and can't get into the oil. I've had it regularly on some kawasaki's
