She had the second best score entering the final. I think it was a good and fair decision. Actually I would have liked to see her winning the Gold. 🥰💚😎

She was in the Floor Final also, but she had to start as the first competitor up and scores are low then. And she saw Oksana Omelianchik and Elena Shoushounova, who were both strong contenders at that Final.
Ecaterina Szabo was such an amazing gymnast. She would have deserved to become the Olympic All Around Champion in 1984 - but the Games happened to be in Los Angeles - so this was a big No No.... In Montreal she had her chances also, but during that competition the German commentary mentioned often something about 'The Revenge If L.A. I kept my fingers crossed for her through out the competition, but her mistake in the All Around cost her the victory there and in the Event Finals she had also her weaknesses. Still.... she is and always will be one of my most favorite gymnasts of all times. 🥰😍😏
True! The German Commentary said in one of her routines, Ecaterina was sort of punished by the judges for taking part in the Olympic Games in 1984. They called it the "Revenge of L.A." - personally I don't think that's true, because when she delivered (as in the Horse Vault and Balance Beam Final) she got her points and won a medal. She was part of the national team of Romania and had no other choice but to attend the Games. If it would be true, the whole team would have been punished - but they won the Silver Medal in the Team Competition and Daniela Silivas became World Champion in the Balance Beam Final.
Boban1611 she was underscored quite a bit at these championships, especially at the euros in 1985. It would’ve been nice if szabo actually won some gold in Montreal.
@@TC-dy4zr I liked her very much. Her routines were difficult and innovative. She was simply an All Around talent and great at every event. It is a shame, she didn't get the Bonus for being an Olympic Champion as so many before and after her.... you have a point in your survey.
@@Boban1611 she could've been the 83 world AA, euros 83 AA and 84 Olympic AA champion. Such a pity because she is one of the greats of the sport and does not get enough credit.

Ecaterina Szabo was outstanding.... she was such a great gymnast, but also had bad luck so many times, when it really counted....
