This is lovely and especially informative on how you use the three partitioned water container. The wash in water before you color the squares is also helpful. Thanks

This really makes me want to make an extra mini green palette to take with me when urban sketching, so I will have that perfect "meadow green" or "distant green" available when I don't necessarily need them on my main palette! Thank you so much for the commentary, it really helps to understand the pigments!

Your videos and blog are invaluable to me! I know that you were at Cheap Joe's last summer and was saddened that I couldn't join. I am watching your workshop schedule for 2024!

Hi Denise. Only one planned in the US for 2024 and it’s a gorgeous one with four instructors in July 🙂

Still strong as DS embassador. Any insight information on the Primatec controversy? Genuinely curious.

I happen to have been an ‘ambassador’ since before that was a thing, in that I have used and recommended them since 1995.
There are many great watercolours available so we are very lucky, but they are still my brand of choice as they suit how I work.
There isn’t a short answer on that, except that I didn’t buy into it. I use some of the Primateks for their unique characteristics. The interplay of colours in some of them - like Green Apatite for example - is amazing, and the granulation is spectacular.

can undersea or perylene greens be mixed from other basic yellows and blues?

wait! OMG. I just realized you have already taught me one from learning the pigment codes!!! PB29 PO48 and PY150...is that right??? but peryene is one pure black that cant be mixed??? PBK31?

You can mix a perylene green hue with phthalo green BS and Pyrrol crimson.
And yes - quinacridone gold and ultramarine make an amazing range if greens, including the undersea green hue.

Is that a circular palette made up of little triangular wells? Where on earth could I find one? 💜 😊

I've just done a video about that palette. They are from Australia! They were designed and created by my fellow Australian Watercolour Institute member Malcolm Carver so you can find them on his website carverstudio.com.

Where did you buy your water container? Would like to buy one as well. Such a space saver!

You can get the porcelain water containers through Dick Blick in the US or Jacksonsart.com or sometimes on Amazon. They are great!

Ziosite looks like it has a red pigment in it, at least that is what I see on my screen.

Hi Jane. I love your videos. Thanks for taking the time and doing a quality job. I like to paint landscapes mostly. The only green on my palette is PG7 (WN "Viridian"). I am looking at maybe replacing it with a go-to versatile green. I have a limited palette containing 14 colors including the PG7. I am considering replacing the PG7 with Jadeite as my ONLY convenience green. What are your thoughts? Also, if not Jadeite, can you recommend another go-to convenience green? Thanks so much! Cheers.
