Seeing a level 70 actually DPS during the secrets of ragefire scenario instead of using the rocket jet to jump on the boss for a one-shot is the saddest thing.
@crumblyburgers I better look up that Scenario before doing it ... HAHA. I don' think I have done that one yet and at least the Scenarios have all been new to me ( not so much the dungeons or raids).
True, they should just know that they need to do that. I mean, WoW is full of intuitive, easy-to-learn mechanics and is renowned for it's low entry barrier for newcomers.
There is a pretty big reason to upgrade gear item levels. Socket bonuses as well as spell damage from Tinker sockets are increasing in power significantly. The price however is the bottleneck... they shoud've either cut it in half or convert exp% bonus to a bronze drop % bonus after level 70..
@alexanderzolotaryov7092 Good point. I did notice on a new character that the Prismatic Gems have been buffed. Looks like they stealthed that one in there. Like we stated though, if you are just in it for the cosmetics, you can get all of that just running Normal stuff and save the Bronze. I do think they will eventually reduce the upgrade cost though.
the high gear upgrade cost is a one time only cost, your basicly upgrading the gear slot, not really the item itself. So you've upgraded a sword on a pally to upgrade 30 with 9k bronze per upgrade, now you find a cool looking axe you want to use for a bit. The upgrade cost for it is going to be like 200-300 bronze per upgrade, till it gets to upgrade 30, then cost will jump back up to 9k.
1:28 Heroic gear can drop from literally everything, got some at goats, got some on random timeless aisle trash, and got some from trash in veilled area

I am for example currious for hailooms. Note! the BONES you need with bronze to buy hairlooms do not drop from LFR groups but actual normal raids. ALso currious if i get hairloom on alliance side will i get same item horde version on horde or i need to to em as sepparate?
Awesome! Thank you! @tann982 Most heirlooms the are account wide. Unless the description says "Alliance Only" or "Horde Only" you should be able to use on any character.
This is my tinfoil theory. I think Blizzard thought 3 months for leveling IS fast and the reason that the gear cost is so high, is because they truly believed people would want to spend 90 days in this game mode. I was able to get 3 of the expensive world boss mounts so far, imagine if I kept that same pace for 90 days, I’d have plenty of Bronze for both upgrades, and the cosmetics. The part that confuses me, is why upgrade the gear ever? If you just use the shitty green gear, and farm threads for a while, your stats are eventually going to be so out of control anyways, that it wont matter what gear you wear, not to mention, the gear will be normalized in TWW, so it’s even less incentive. It is all so odd, and so much of the events philosophy’s directly contradict themselves, that it makes me think the people who planned this, do not play the game.
@Chaoticsaur Thanks for the comment! I agree that we will out-gear most of the content without upgrading as well. Not only that, as you mentioned, we will upgrade item level really quick in TWW as well so it really makes no sense to upgrade (unless you are Mythic raiding).
The tinkers/gems/meta get stronger with the ilevel of the item they are in. Also after quite some time in pandaria with thread farming, my weapon still has more mainstat than my cloak.
@@jules3431 seen people with frogged cloaks and 346 ilvl gear popping 4-6m dps the cloak is the most of our dps not the gear, yes eventually the gear will match but why bother with upgrade when you can pull that kind of dps already?
@@goalz7345 Sorry to disappoint, but not true. That dmg was maybe from a low level char scaled to lvl 70 values. To put it into perspective, one ilvl 500 2h weapon gives 14k int or 10k str/agi. The other two big slots are chest and legs where ilvl 486 with 3 perfect gems gives u 80k stamina and 8k of the desired stat socketed into it (if you socket the same stat 3x). If we are speaking about a melee class then the weapon damage gaps it even further. The spools Blizzard added are a help, but what made the frogs op was the bronze for gear upgrades, not the cloak.

This was exactly the information I was looking for. I finally had enough time to play and hit 70 and the first thing I noticed is getting 1 shot as a fresh 70 is infuriating. Common mobs will just absolutely destroy you. Blizz really needs to fix the scaling. I don't want to waste all of my bronze on gear upgrades, but my toon is so weak I'm almost afraid to aggro even critters. I guess I'll work on an alt and hope Blizz makes some changes soon.

I didn’t mind the amount of gear dropping or having to continually be switching out gems from the current piece to the new one since it was able to be scrapped into bronze until the last five levels before seventy when I just started feeling fed up with having to stop every thirty minutes to switch up. Then had to remember leveling up two levels in an hour is pretty average while playing unlike retail which normally takes a few hours. Yah my cloak experience has not moved past 109% at all since I hit around fifty on my one character I don’t plan to make another.

Level 63 my cloak has about 147xp% The first kill or run of the world bosses(gold thread), raids, dungeons and scenarios will net you at least an epic thread. That might bump up the xp%. I play about 2-3 hours and got that far. I guess another 3 - 4weeks I would hit xp cap. It's not a instant process like promised but a steady improvement overtime. Probably faster when one hit 70.
@@picoolio It definitely is one of those do some stuff each day at level 70 type activities. With the buffs to XP and threads they have started adding it is getting better for sure.
On my 3rd alt I reached 70 with 572% exp. But I jumped into raids at 30 and it exp gain was insane! The funny thing is I didn’t want to level it that fast because I wanted to complete the raid achieve before I hit 60 because of the scaling component.
@anlacombe I could go for that. The leveling experience in WoD was actually really good! I think we will definitely see more of this type of gameplay in the future.
@apointtomake1517 They are continuing to hotfix buffs in. Yesterday I noticed they are giving Greater Caches for the group quests, dungeons, and scenarios. Getting easier and easier to pick up 10K - 15K Bronze a day just from group content and dailies.
@@TwoAngryFrogssure but the real measurement to use is hours spent, not # of days. That 10-15k can't afford even half a round of gear upgrades. Gear upgrades are the only way to get significantly stronger, AND it only makes things faster if everyone in the group has upgraded.
@@jbutler8585 If you spend 2 hours daily, only kill 6 world bosses, 1 lfr, 1 dungeon and 1 scenario for daily quests, you get 9 legendary cloak upgrades, that is over 2k in stats per day... my day 1 Warr is insanly strong without farming or grinding anything. Putting epic gems of the best secondary stats into chest and legs gives you 3000 stat each, ring 890 and 1500 in trinket

be careful blowing your wad on toys and stuff early, since you might have them drop from the rarespawns. the only toy i wanted out of this whole thing was apparently removed on live. Maybe they'll do an in-game event at the end of the whole thing and we'll all get the toy and tabard from that. So, make sure you have a level 70 Horde AND Alliance ready, just in case.
Ive got all perfect gems with the proper stats and both rings, both trinkets and the neck, both I can't get into heroic or mythic SoO because people are wanting 470+
Why do gear or even playing the character matter beyond getting Infinite Power XII? Once I got the achievement I rerolled another class and had some more fun. Had plenty of bronze for the few mogs and mounts I wanted.

Cause it's a game. If you give the opportunity to players to do something and they can't reach it, it's normal they a lot of those desire to reach that level.
What would be the point of upgrading gear? Do we keep that gear when our characters get moved to retail? If so then it may be worth it but if not i would spend my bronze else where.
@mommabear9845 I have not see anything official from Blizzard as far as the details about what will move and what will not when our characters are transferred to Retail so I am not sure. I know there are also questions around how Reputation is going to work when we transfer to Retail. It makes sense that we would keep our reps but Blizzard has not officially said how it is going to work.
@joelbest2424 If it worked like we thought at first and our Alts picked up that full XP bonus then it would be great. But agree, does not make a lot of since in the current state.
i have had 2 strokes and my memory is crap so i don't do dungeons and raids so how am i supposed to get all of the gear i need its wrong that you have to do the dungeons and raids if you cant get them right and people moan at you because your doing them wrong and i am 63 years old
@peterjeffery1854 Thanks for the comment! This method is definitely specific to Remix and is cheesing the game for sure. You can still hit level 70 in a reasonable amount of time without Dungeons and Raids as I did on a couple of characters. The War Within will likely be the best we have seen yet as far as solo play as Delves will be rewarding up to Heroic Raid item level gear so there are some good things coming.

It's not like this is game breaking given it is a 90 day just do stuff mode but it does carry over into retail as we have seen many times in Dragonflight. Question is how much time to you really spend on policing player behavior?

What Blizz could do to level the playing field though for those who did not farm.... Cloak %EXP bonus at 70 becomas %Bonus Bronze. That way leveling gear is easy cheap and so everyone can get back to burning raid bosses in under 5 seconds.
@@petert3355 So they kinda went in between as you have likely seen. Some nerfs to farmers and extra Bronze for everyone else. As far as I know they nerfed the cloak but not the gear for the farmers which is fine with me.

There should have been weekly caps on threads as well. Finding hyper-spawns is not the problem. The problem was they never put a weekly cap on that currency, meanwhile EVERYTHING that is meaningful in Dragon Flight has caps in place to prevent making sweaty players OP.
I mean, its a limited time event primarily designed to let people ,farm transmog, mounts ,pets & toys, what someone else does doesn't effect me since the only true goal is to farm as much bronze as possible to get the rewards. There is zero competitive aspect to this mode & a week after it's over everyone who is feigning anger over this will have forgotten it happened, and those who don't have more pressing issues in their personal lives to work on.
@apointtomake1517 Yeah I had not thought of the cap idea. I think that would have brought more grief as well though. I don't think there is any way around it honestly. There will always be people that look to shortcut the system in some way or another just like they did with the Seed farming in Emerald Dream.

Gear upgrades are 90% of your dps. The stats on the cloak are really not that valuable considering a max ilvl staff gives 20k main stat

@RocRolDis That is one of the reasons you may need to upgrade. Higher difficulty for higher level content.

@Agelis Yeah they have a random chance to drop from pretty much anything I think. I ended up with one and have no idea what I actually got it from .. lol.

@phild8238 Thanks for the comment! Same here for the most part. Trying to get the achievements as well. I have yet to spend any Bronze. Just hoarding it until time to spend it all ... lol.

There should have been weekly caps on threads as well. Finding hyper-spawns is not the problem. The problem was they never put a weekly cap on that currency, meanwhile EVERYTHING that is meaningful in Dragon Flight has caps in place to prevent making sweaty players OP.
I mean, its a limited time event primarily designed to let people ,farm transmog, mounts ,pets & toys, what someone else does doesn't effect me since the only true goal is to farm as much bronze as possible to get the rewards. There is zero competitive aspect to this mode & a week after it's over everyone who is feigning anger over this will have forgotten it happened, and those who don't have more pressing issues in their personal lives to work on.
@apointtomake1517 Yeah I had not thought of the cap idea. I think that would have brought more grief as well though. I don't think there is any way around it honestly. There will always be people that look to shortcut the system in some way or another just like they did with the Seed farming in Emerald Dream.
