One thing I am taught in California is never dry going back up only dry going down and use more paper towels if needed, Also never shake your hands let them drip for a few seconds and then dry.

I do have a question about some things. So when drying your hands, your allowed to rub the paper towel from the forearm down to the hand? I've always been taught that if I did that I would be contaminating my clean hands. Quick question... so during the class i took they said ask the patient to cross their leg and one arm up and turn them to the side.. is that for unconscious person or i could ask them cross the legs and grab ahold to the bed gate if there is one? Also do we use napkins to turn on water before we wash our hands my teacher confuesed me
I do want to pass my state exam but I do work on the floor right having somebody that can walk and move by themselves is a plus but when you don't have someone that can walk and cannot move in real life it's not easy to move them and especially if they're overweight a little bit it's hard to turn them on your own

Hi! You only need to wash your hands once at the beginning, it is it’s own separate skill. Then, when you do all the other skills you only need to verbally announce that you are washing your hands. Good luck!
