Back in the day, there's no game as advance looking (graphically) as SOTC... I'ts the small details that made me think hideo kojima have an influence on this but i'm wrong. Damn, i wish these game could've been revived with all of the cut colossi revoked as a dlc instead...it would've been great... Still hoping that would happen on the games anniv
If I remember correctly there's a 'behind the scenes' video showing what I believe were the "Art Director?' & 'The Head Programmer?' essentially arguing that what the 'Art Director?' wanted " "was simply not capable on a PS2". That in order to have a consistent framerate, while fighting, the player making random inputs, etc some of the Visuals had to be significantly reduced", as well as later on entire Collosi themselves removed. (I know fighting Gaius on several occasions that while the distant trees are a wonderful sight they are probably a good reason for alot of framedrops...I mean it's beautiful, but I'm kind of eating dirt here so.....)
@@_Star_Titan_ are they planning on adding some downloadable content in the future, I mean it's already a couple of console gens have gone by now.... I think they have the tools needed to pursue that impossible back then, I mean look at spiderman
You may wish to watch some of the videos from Nomad Colossus ( www.youtube.com/@NomadColossus ), & see if some of your questions can be answered there. I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable as probably a good portion of their community, as well as their experience & Content for this game specifically goes back over a decade
It's difficult to run Ps2 Emulators at times, especially on certain PCs compared to others + (OBS + Your HDD/SSD) + Me being ignant at operating these things = An Imperfect Creation that I share with others!
In saying The New PCSX2! Oh Yes, so much better! They deserve so much praise for their efforts. These were recorded with the older emulators so alot of the glitches and slowdown may have been fixed in newer versions. Just wish to add this for those that may view this in the future.
Spatial awareness of the arena is paramount, I'm not ashamed to admit I tried just riding Agro around the arena a bit before triggering the boss. Appreciate you enduring my early attempts
personally I'd have to say Argus, with the multi-stage & having had it Glitch on the 'Sword Drop'.. multiple times.... Leaving him with a Irremovable, Indestructible, Invisible Bat... dis Homie Don't Play Dat'
That thumbnail fits perfectly on this boss, Dirge just sinks into your nightmares faster than he goes through sand.

This thing terrifies me and I only learned of its existence like a week ago
Learning tends to have that effect....
Very good
Very sloppy rather but hey, at least he killed it lol
very true :3@@d-s_94
Why does it keep going into slow motion?

on the real PS2 the game also runs a little slow sometimes
I swear this part is intense

Just why exactly is dirge acting so murderously vicious by trying to kill off the main human hero character?
as I understand it - The tendrils are the spirit 'shards?' of Dormin sealed within the Collosi, both guarding them and 'Powering' the Collosi itself.
Because he knows why you're there, to kill him and free Dormin, which he protects from NOT coming out
Dirge is easily the most annoying colossus in the game toe. He just sucks.

But that's a glitch. Dirge sucks the way the game is programmed to function.
