Worked perfect. 2005 Sequoia, 221,000 miles, haven't used the rear window wiper or defrost for years. Followed this video today and everything works perfect. Many. Many thanks for this video posting.

Thank you so much! I have an older Toyota Sequoia 2005. I love this car! I was dreading thinking that I had to take it to the Toyota dealer, which they would have easily charged alot of money for this easy fix! Thankful from a Southsider of Chicago.

2007 Toyota Sequoia. This worked like a charm.
All the symptoms were spot on and I was able to follow the steps. Window motor clicked and got warm etc. I had to try banging the motor twice to get it to release, but it's now working perfect. My steps.
    1) ECU reset per video
    2) take off plastic panel and metal plate covering motor (5 minutes)
    3) give the motor a few good whacks
    4) confirm ECU reset
    5) roll down window / rejoice!
    6) put everything back together (10 minutes)
    Thank you for posting this!!!

I just had the problem of rear window, wiper, and defrost switches failing after messing with some electrical connectors. The procedure I found online was: turn on vehicle, fully roll down rear window using driver’s inside control switch holding in down position for a second, fully roll up window using same switch holding in up position for two seconds. This worked for me, but will whack the motor if this procedure doesn’t solve it in the future. Thank you and everyone who shares such videos!

WOW, just to let you know, your video was bang on, cut to the chase, same issues with my 2006 SR5 The part about the clicking, I was able to click left and right and hear the clicking, but no movement. So, interestingly enough, the manual key in the lock, did not reset the fixed wiper and defroster, only when I tried the front up down switch, did it reset the def/wipers again. Saved me a ton of time, no big mysteries, just great coverage on your video. Thanks much!

Wow! My rear wiper stopped working on my Sequoia 2005, and I was all set to head to the dealer. I checked the defrost button after watching your video and discovered it was not functioning, so I did a reset. It WORKS! I did not test the rear window movement via the key in the back lock until after the reset. It also worked, although I rarely use the rear window so I don’t know if it was functional before the reset procure. Thanks!!!

I did this and everything worked except the window. The rear wiper worked and the defroster. Then I hit the window to go down and tripped it all again. I reset again and everything worked again. Does the freezing window motor cause all of it to trip if it doesn't go down? Tomorrow I'll try to remove the panel and tap it some to see if it'll unfreeze. I just bought the seqpuia a few hours ago.
