I've step this fish about 7 years ago in southern part of java island (indonesia). It was the most painful experience in my entire life and was like all nerves on my whole body focused to my wounded feet. Doctor only gave me anti-allergen serum and by the grace of God i was survived without any amputation.
Since I feel like it’s a “close call” to you, here is some info: you can die from a lionfish but there has been no confirmed fatalities (if you get the fish stuck on the rock, putting more pressure, but not from their venom) But you can die from a stonefish’s venom itself.

F.N. Marlaw wow that is an incredible story and detail. You are lucky nothing worse came as a result, but it sounds like it was horrifically painful!

That's very kind! Glad you enjoy, hope you enjoy the videos here! More coming soon :)
Oh man, you're brave. I would never do that hahaha.
Yep also the stinging barbs are on the top, so if I make no mistakes, I'm ok... still scary though! Thanks for watching :)
Great video, this fish is so interesting.

SurvivalAustria thank you so much really appreciate!
Stonefish are more dangerous than lionfish.

And from recovery: you can quit your job for a few weeks/days from a lionfish sting. When in a stonefish sting, you can quit your job for over a year.
