    Quadratec makes a very good direct fit factory replacement for the wrangler woofer. Shallow like the original and plug and play. Replaced mine while the console was still in the vehicle.

    Nice job. Which oem style radio you guys suggest for a TJ? I currently have an after market think sony with all those cheesy changing colors. I was thinking of buying a used factory radio. Is there one out there from Chrysler which fits on a TJ but more modern with bluetooth?

    So what would you recommend I do if I want to use my original sub with a new amp, the two wire sets are throwing me off... do I join them or do I pick my favourite side? ;-)

    Have you guys replaced the stock subwoofer on a jeep gladiator? My truck came with the factory sub behind the seat. I am thinking of replacing it and seeing if my bass is upgraded. Have you done something similar?

    Great video. Thank you for your time. I followed your tutorial exactly. The Audio Pipe only has a pos/neg on the unit I purchased. I capped the other 2 wires. I checked the fuse, which is a 20 amp, looked fine. I do not get any sound from the speaker?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +7SARK7 you may need to get the DVC version of the speaker. The amp may not turn on with out both connected

      Would have I heard anything from a blown speaker? I tried capping the red and black and hooking up the tan and gray. Still nothing. I did find 1 TS-CVR6. HOPING THIS WORKS. THANK YOU.

    Thanks for the video, I found the latest model of that speaker TS-CVR6. I replaced it but when I hooked it back up it doesn’t seem to work. Checked all the connections. They seem fine. Still no luck. Any thoughts on another issue? Could the amp be shot?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you getting any sound at all? Like maybe a small amount. If so one side of the sub could be wired wrong. If not check the power going to the amp.

    The speaker is no longer available on Amazon, do you guys have any other speakers you've had luck with in this spot? Also, is the factory amp good, or would you recommend replacing it as well?

    I loved how well this video was put together. I purchased the Audio pipe but believe I purchased the TS-AR6 (has only one positive & one negative terminal.) my question is what wire do I attach? I put the the positive of both on the one terminal and the negative of both on the other. I believe there was a black & red pair and a pair of grey & brown? Any help is greatly appreciated - Rob C

    PSA to anyone finding this video and being tempted by the low prices of these drivers currently on Amazon... This driver has an Xmax of only 2mm and IMO is a poor choice for a Jeep console sub replacement. In the recommended sealed enclosure volume of 2.5 cu ft it has an F3 of 109 Hz. IMO, either do the Kicker that KyleSVT did or spend the $90 and get the replacement sub from Quadratec (which was likely built to OEM specs).

  • @justingardner4555

    How is the factory sub wired? Are the 2 coils parallel for a 4 ohm load? Or did the factory put right on one coil and left on the other for "stereo" sound?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Justin Gardner the factory amp uses high level input off the front speakers for signal. When you fad left or right the sub still plays. That about all the testing we have done. We just replace what we take out with the same, so it works the same

    • @gbsiblings
      @gbsiblings 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Frank Gurgone you need to buy the enclosure for it and you’ll have to look up the wiring so you can wire it up. Other than that, you can do it.

  • @nahnahxl
    @nahnahxl 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    in what order did you set up the wires? like left/right red-black - other side left/right white-brown?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc

      nahnahxl there is a big terminal and a small terminal in each pair. The big terminal is positive and the little one is negative.
