    It’s interesting how instinctively the comments Moses makes about cannibalism strike us as being really disturbing. Yet based on what he describes, the cannibalism is more ethical than the consumption of non-human animals he’s trying to justify. What we do to animals is, after all, far from consensual. We force animals into farms and slaughterhouses and take their life from them forcefully and against their will.
    Which of the arguments Moses used did you find the most unusual?

      I think while he sets up the cannibalism in an "idealist" scenario where no one is intentionally getting hurt, the question it leads to is, what if he enjoys it? What routes would that lead him down to seek that same enjoyment? I think everyone is able to see through that which is what results in the strongest reaction.

    Well, at least his argument is an original one. If we have to continue on the God argument, then why did God give these animals feelings of pain, happiness, sadness, connection, suffering, misery? Why did that same God gave me, a basic human, the same feelings and made me realize veganism is the right choice because it is all about creating less suffering, more compassion? It can easily be argued that the reason why God made animals sentient is to test our compassion and respect...

      @@MasterMoronHow would you propose we “improve” factory farming conditions? No matter how much we improve it, the only and EASIEST option for improvement is to simply not consume animal products. Organic farming isn’t sustainable either, if we had 100% organic farming (which is STILL exploiting other animals unnecessarily) we would use up WAY too much land and food resources rather than having majority factory farming. I don’t agree; vegans do give solutions. But these solutions are often regardes as extreme. Is it extreme to simply not cause unnecessary suffering? • @7yu00

      @@MasterMoron That analogy doesn’t work unfortunately. Not eating animal products aka a well planned plant-based diet, does not impact your well-being, health or life in a negative way, assuming you live in a first- or second-world state like I do, such as Germany, the US, the Netherlands, you get it. The point is that we do things we don’t NEED to do. We don’t NEED to inflict pain and suffering on other sentient beings because there is an alternative: not doing it. Again, as I said, organic farming is not sustainable at all, if you were wondering about sustainability. The most sustainable way of farming is factory farming nowadays.

I feel like every video Ed posts, someone eventually states something along the lines of "I love the taste of meat" or "meat is sooooo good" or whatever else. However even when I was still an omnivore I remember thinking to myself that meat is actually super bland. All the flavor in meat is typically derived from the spice rub or the marinade or the sauce we put on it. The meat itself doesn't really have that much flavor without any of the add-ons. I could sort of understand if someone said they miss the texture of meat because even the best vegan meat substitutes fall short of capturing the correct texture most of the time. That however is only really an issue for non processed meat, any kind of processed meat (Ground Beef, chicken nuggets, etc.) typically have removed the texture component already and vegan substitutes are generally undetectable.
    It just makes me wonder if meat eaters ever actually stopped to realize that the reason they like popeyes so much isn't because it is meat, but rather because its been deep-fried in a nice crunchy batter and that's why it "tastes so good".

      Youre speaking straight up facts
      Like unseasoned meat tastes of nothing and kinda gross sometimes even
      Like idk its legit all the spices and fat that makes it delicious for them

      @Empathy4Animals411 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, I don't get meat being "tasty" - but it's the texture that really grosses me out now if something plant-based tastes too real. I never liked it as a child either, seeing the blood squirting, the chewy texture, etc. It was all covered up with sauces & seasonings and condiments & fried breading.

      You can make the exact same argument for vegetables. The flavors they naturally have aren't appealing, and salads have no calories and no flavor so you have to dress it in a billion different things to have a balanced meal.

    • @whuwhaaa2
      @whuwhaaa2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@27Flopps No that's cap. You think apples, oranges, mustered greens, sweet potatoes, red peppers, tomatoes etc, etc, have comparable flavor to meat? There's no way bruh.

    • @27Flopps
      @27Flopps ปีที่แล้ว

      @whuwhaaa2 Apples and oranges aren't vegetables, they're fruit and they actually have flavor. Potatoes have no flavor. Bake or boil a potato with no seasoning or even just eat raw potato and you'll see that it's almost flavorless and has very little flavor by itself. Even then if there are vegetables with flavor it isn't very good when either raw or cooked. You need seasonings to make them taste better.

    You’re such a smart guy, in your questions, your delivery and your patience. It can’t be easy to sit there and not butt in every time they say something silly or contradicting. Almost like the tactic is giving them time to talk them into doom and having time to think about what they’re saying and doing.
    Friendly calm approach helps make them feel relaxed and open to hearing new mindsets. Long lasting thoughts will be planted in there head and help them start the change. Well done
