Thank you for showing us your wonderful collection.
11:15 - thank you so much for zooming in on the pages! I have a cover-less version that has ALSO lost the first 4 pages to time, so seeing these images helped me visual match it, I definitely have the 1991 version! Very grateful for this breakdown, it was driving me NUTS not being able to properly identify it!
Amy, we used the Betty Crocker cookbook in my High School Home Economics class many, many😀 years ago.
I still have my Betty Crocker cookbook from the early 1970s. (The red pie, hard cover, but not in a binder.) I still use it a lot. Good, basic recipes in it.
I have that one in paperback- it came in a five volume set called Cooking with Betty Crocker.
My parents gave me the Bridal edition in 2002 as a wedding gift to go along with my KA stand mixer. I grew up using the Cooky Book at the holidays. My mom has the 1st edition and I have the 3rd (I think). Some great cookbooks!!
Omg so cool! I love seeing the cookbooks and seeing the dining room and the All-Clad chafing dish! The chafing dish is always a treat.
Amazing. I never knew! i love the historic chronology!
That binder cookbook you have that is a reproduction, I have both an original (my grandmother's), and a reproduction, so I won't wear out the old one. That is the only full size cookbook my mother had during my childhood. I also own the one you showed that was put out AFTER the red pie edition. Both that old one and the newer one I own are excellent cookbooks.
Great cookbook collection! Enjoyed learning Betty Crocker's back-story.
I have both box the library i cards and the step by step recipe cards. From the 70’s. I want to start getting the cook books.
I definitely prefer the binder style. So user friendly!
Suggested 😱😍 awesome
Thanks!
Awesome!!! Thank you 💗
Thanks for watching, Deb!
Which edition has the preserving and canning section?
I believe there is a book that was published on Betty Crocker and her beginning and how she has evolved…it is a really great book. I have all of the Betty Crocker cookbooks starting in 1965 when I got married right after graduation from high school all of the way to today but I don’t have the latest edition…I will look for it.
I have Betty Crocker's International Cookbook, printed 1980
Hi Amy! I don't have any of the previous Editions but I got the 13th Edition and I love it!! Great review; thanks!!
This was so fun to watch!
Thanks!
Great video Amy! Thanks for sharing!
The basic how to cook from scratch one was my go to for years and then my sister got me the big red modern one for Christmas and I love it 🤣
I picked up the new cookbook last week and have been going through it to mark recipes to try!
Awesome! Have you tried anything out of it yet?
I have 40th anniversary edition. It was originally my, mom's.
Amy has two different Betty Crocker series of cookbooks. There is the Betty Crocker Cookbook and the Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook. Both first editions were published in 1950. What is nice about the picture cookbook is that there are 6 pictures showing how the recipe progresses during preparation that is a great asset to the novice home cook! The step-by-step format of the picture cookbook has been copied by many other cookbook publishers. I have an abbreviated version of a Betty Crocker Cookbook I bought from a Sears catalog store for $2.97. It was my first cookbook. It is still an often-used reference almost 50 years later!
Thank you and God Bless Sonja and Christopher
I see the Ankarsrum isn’t in your favorite mixers list. Don’t like it anymore? If so can I ask why?
Thanks !
If I sent you a picture of a page could you tell me which book it's from? I've been trying to figure out which one my Grandma had, but I only have one page.
Do you have The Silver Palate cookbook?
Hi Amy and Eric. My question has nothing to do with books.
I am wondering if your doing a live show on new year eve?
I didn't know how else inquire
I loved watching this video on old Betty Crocker Cookbooks. I used to have the 1983 edition of the Betty Crocker cookbook you showed. It was gifted to me for Christmas (1984) by my mom when I first moved out of her house. I was 20 years old and I learned how to cook by reading and following recipes from that cookbook. I lost it somewhere over the years and there is one recipe for the lasagna that I wish I had. I have never been able to make lasagna that way since I lost that book. Do you have a video making lasagna from that recipe? If not I was wondering if you might be able to take a picture of it and send it to me, please. I would so very much appreciate it!
Bailey sarian dark history has a whole episode on Betty Crocker
I found this cookbook on eBay and bought it earlier this year. I just had to have it!
That lasagne recipe is great! I also made Toffee Bars, and applesauce cake, a lot. I got that book for my 15th birthday.
The first thing I did was make the lasagne recipe I've been missing all of these years!
