    14:00. You remove the steering pin and then you disconnect hedsets. Disconecting cockpit comuncation is the last thing you do, for obvious reasons.

    The pin is supposed to be inserted before connecting the tow bar & push back.. also notice that the tow bar tires are in the ground, there‘are supposed to be in the air while pushing back.

    This is what I do for a living as a ramper at ORD. But I push out smaller regional planes ERJ-145, CRJ-200, and CRJ-700 with an Lektro pushback tug and cart. We use straps for the nose pole not a towbar.

  • @Joshuahay123

    the bypass pin should definitely be inserted prior to connecting the tow bar.....

      It's not a tow bar, it's a TWO BAR (1:47). I'm going to watch some more to see what else they do wrong!!

      The fact that they're calling it a 'tow truck' instead of a pushback is pissing me off too

    You put the bypass pin in FIRST before tow bar is connected. Reason been, if the pilot accidently pushes the throttle he can damage the plane and/or snap the tow bar. Plane is paralysed as bypass pin is in place.

    bypass pin FIRST before anything is physically connected to the aircraft.

    • @malidasrey9317
      @malidasrey9317 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bypass pin must insert to steering wheel before Towbar connected, not FIRST before anything. Thanks

    • @jamesf791
      @jamesf791 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do this for a living and only connect it to the plane if it has a bypass pin. A220s and CRJ's and some other planes do not have bypass pin.

    I miss the good old days .... I was a line aircraft maintenance technician and we were the ones doing all the ground proceedings, arrival, preflight and departure maneuvers. Nowadays is ramp guys who do it, having a mechanic doing all this gave pilots a sense of more security as we knew the aircraft and safety proceedings like the back of our hands.

    • @seanalire-moynihan9142
      @seanalire-moynihan9142 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ogeid Zelop I am a rampy and probably know nore about aircraft than you. Btw I know calculus, linear algebra, quantum mechanics and I taught myself aerodynamics. I can calulate multivariable differentials and integrations. I know about hydraulics on 737 and airbus 319 and 320. Little rusty on 57's mechanical ops but think I could do a maintanence check on them. Before I could work as a ramp agent I had to take 4 months of training with SEVERAL tests that had to be completed with 100% accuracy. Any mistake would result in immediately being fired. Safety and accuracy is above EVERYTHING. The old days aint what it use to be for a fucking reason. So... what were you saying about us rampies sir?

      Sean Moynihan So you know all that apparantly.. And you're just a rampy on $8 ph? I call bullshit. If you're so smart you'd be a fucking pilot not a rampy. Joker.

    It also doesn't have a forward gear since it relies on thrust not mechanical/electrical power to the tires because I doubt that it would lift off.

    A headset man in India was once sucked into the engine due to pilot error. He hasn't properly engaged the parking brake and the aircraft moved forward when the headset man was removing bypass pin.

    • @Danspy501st
      @Danspy501st 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cole Gaming Well, Im arent a pilot, but reverse thrust can be used to "push" the plane back. But because of the gate/terminal building is in the way of the jet blast (Mostly on any airport), then this kind of push back is used instead. (That we saw in the video) It is also safer for anyone around instead that the plane does the reverse thrust. But yeah, it is mostly for breaking
